Where's Hagstrom?
Such a beautiful guitar
Oh hell yeah. Magnolia! What a song. Great demo, beautiful axe.
Really cool guitar. I do not know why I have not bought one. Thank you so much.
I've acquired a Power Jet myself recently. I've wanted one since high school, but never had the money to get one. Definitely a life changing purchase.
Lemmo - you always make me smile.
Wow you guys are the best
That was a delightfully jaunty tune! It’s suits Jen always being so upbeat on GOTD 😉. Great all around Lemmo.
beautiful sound @6:00
wonderful playing
Interesting sounding guitar. I love the silver sparkle too
Way to go Jen. A songwriter too. There is just no end to your talent.
Fantastic rendition of Jen’s Theme
I need a Gretsch in my life.
Great playing and layering
..really really nice Silver Sparkle..finish from the drum sets!!..boss sound..Berklee brother Lemmo preaching on that pretty thing..nice..gratitude from New York September 16, 2020..
Look at that binding - sweet👍
That second song was so beautiful ! Loved that guitar
Maybe it’s just me but it’s weird seeing a Gretsch without a Bigsby on it. But it did sound awfully good in Lemmo’s hands. I could easily see having a Gretsch as a 2nd guitar if I didn’t have the $ for a Gibson 335 variant.
What an amazing guitar.
Thanks for posting.
Luv u guys always make me smile!
Love those DeArmonds.
Nice demo...you can just imagine how Steven Stills and Neil Young would have been inspired by the Gretsch sound back in the day
Accurate.
Never heard JJ Cale being done so well except by JJ Cale ... wow
Same here! Skynyrd and Clapton completely butchered that man's songs. Deserves more praise as a songwriter
The Poco version is 🔥🔥🔥IMHO.
The Silver Jet was designed by Gretsch sales rep Jimmie Webster who also designed the 6120 and the Country Gentleman with Chet Atkins and also designed the White Falcon and the White Penguin.
BOTH PICKUPS - Jj cale Magnolia
Jen loved your song you should write one for each gotd
Buenarda la guitarra
What a beauty 😆
Lemmo could make a hello kitty guitar sound like a pre war Martin. If I bought a pre war Martin it’d sound like a hello kitty guitar . Norm definitely needs to give Lemmo a raise.
You are playing the right thing on that Gretsch
Sweet
Yes! JJ Cale!
So sweet
Hair on my arms stood up on the second one
Such a nice Gretsch on an awesome Wednesday! Love a good Gretsch from time to time! However! Gotta do a Maton!
Love the inclusion of some JJ Cale! Get take on an underrated song.
More beautiful than LP, there I said it..
Bridge pick-up: Need some Chet Atkins for some real CGP pickin'!
Nick showing us how to properly wear a mask. Get close to someone then pull your mask down to talk lol
Magnolia!
That last tune arrived just in time for Oktoberfest!
Didn't Billy Zoom play one of these back in the day, or was it a Les Paul?
Yes billy zooM maybe the most famous on the silver jet
Cliff Gallup n George Harrison are famous on black jets
@@john84896 I went to a Pearl Jam concert in the early 90's at the Forum in LA, X was the opening act !, the kids in the audience had never heard of X, but they were ALL blown away by them. Post California Punk meets Seattle Grunge.
@@Timinator62 yes! X is a formidable live act with a deep catalogue and billy zoom gets such an unbelievable sound that people like Brian setzer use him as their “amp doctor” …billy modifies amps like a surgeon besides being a ferocious rockabilly punk player…the silver jet is a heavy uncomfortable guitar in my hands but in Billy’s…that’s a match made in heaven 👍
But I love my silver jet 59 reissue cause it’s so flat out bad ass …fuck comfort 😉
I kinda dig how Mark’s imposing (though endearing) personality brought out Jen’s passivity (in an equally endearing way) but the dynamic between these two is the other way around. Every combination pleasant and likeable.
Silver surfer! Stray Cats next time you have one with f-holes. NB Don’t let Jen read that.
5.05 is the opening chords to Starman,or damn close
allan munro ..the second chord he’s playing is different, but the vibe is super close!
Maybe it's that street walker look she's tapping into. It's no longer edibles at night it's more like edible at night. Jen loves her job and we love Jen. It's the giggle at the end of the camera with the faceless charm that makes GOTD home at Norm's Rare Guitars. Why are they rare? Because you have to a 10%'r to own one.
oooh , sparkly , pretty guitar , tho a Bigsby would touch it off just nicely, Anyway never expected a Johnny Cash song from Jen but I liked it, a little plain Jane but cool, A nice rich clean tone , very Gretsch , kinda haunting , something a bit different for Gotd , thanks guys.
Believe Jane Wiedlin of The Go Go’s played one of those.
Wow
That would match my bass boat👍😎🍺🎸🎼🇺🇸🇱🇹
Ooh, JJ Cale, very nice!
Jen flashes Shakey Jake during filming
Lemmo and Gretsches are like peanut butter and jelly
Worried bout rona but my boy lemmo has an open cut lmao bloodborne be careful brooooo
Nice JJ.
Looks like a guitar David Bowie would of played in the early 70's.
Jen said 'Blingy", waiting for this.
In '14 , I demo a Peavey Vypyr 15 with a blk silver sparkle Epi ES-339. Rig ruled though the Epi was almost too much.
Bought the amp and caught hell .. the Missus, "Why do you need another amp ?" This was #7. $49.95.
Live saver after a move. Nearly haf the pak is gone now. asinine.
Should have bought both..
7 amps is NOT too many!!
Gojira rocks 👍🏼
No bigsby?
What kinda bridge is that
Hey Lemmo ! why you always mute the strings ? Just let the girl (guitar) sing !
Do y'all not do Thumpin' Thursday anymore?
Not lately, wait till Norm realizes the basses are piling up in the stockroom.
very pretty playing
Hey Michael when are you and Jen going to go on a date have a great night.🎵🎶🎹🎤✌
Martin Gore would pay $300 for that
song number 3. Ballad of a Cindy Lauper ?
Top is pressed with the plastic drum shell material over it? So laminated and with veneer?
Norm, it's starting to sound like these two have to much time on hour hands.
The Gretch sounds mighty good for 62yrs old. Thanks Michael, for trying to channel Todd.
that poor guitar is like. what the hell you making paly MR!! LEMMO??!
So Lemmo stoney
Saw one of these , brand new arrival at pawn shop. Assistant bought it for pennies. Had opportunity to buy it for $ 250.00. I didn't. Please shoot me.
Wow lots of commercials lately 😴
can I have it?
second
Like Matts Gibson?
Piss on Guitar Center no, mel gibson
Pretty sure this is what Joe Perry plays in “Dude looks like a lady” music video.
Mikes high af
Could there be just a few more commercials??
Nick cover your nose 🤦🏼♂️
If it doesn't sound good through a twin, there's no hope for it. I didn't care for this. nice looking guitar, though.
That guitar, um, you know, um, like that, um, thing that, um , you do...um. Michael, you need to be aware of this, and consciously monitor your speech. Being prepared to talk about the guitar is the first step. Write it down in a logical order and talk about every guitar in this order. Write it down in order in big letters and keep your cheat sheet just off camera. Eventually you'll have the order down and the flow will be more cogent.
Agreed. As soon as he’s got the guitar plugged in , he has no fear of the camera. He’s comfortable. Natural. Almost everybody feels uncomfortable when they have a camera shoved in their face. Preparation, preparation, preparation for Mike.
Dear God, sit back and enjoy GOTD. Or don’t. I get so tired of people criticizing things that they tuned into to bring them joy. If you don’t like it, don’t tune in. It’s that simple.
Mike does a great job. Hes casual but knowledgeable and is enthusiastic about showcasing the archive at norms. I would bet that makes for a great guitar salesman.
@@jackphillips341 accurate.
Jack you're so right.....don't like it don't watch it simple...bitching is for.....well bit..es
Nice looking guitar but it don't sound too good
My god Lemmo SUCKS!!! Where's Agnissi?
The looper again.
How exciting. 😴
GUITAR CENTER SUCKS
No idea how to demo a gretch, the cash segment is a joke.
Wow
