You had so many great books last month! ‘Madding Crowd’ is actually the only Hardy I really like. A couple others I can get along with but mostly I just want to put them through the shredder.😅 The Hiding Place is an all time favorite. Words of Radiance is one of my favorite Sanderson’s. The Secret Garden is a reread on a regular basis and an all time favorite too. I also loved Annie’s first book more. The Outsiders impacted my husband as a teenager, he needs to reread it. So do I actually.😌 Grandma’s Walk is a book I have recommended to all my friends before they hike the AT! I hope your May is just as fulfilling!🥰
I love the Murder of Roger Ackroyd! I am so sorry the ending was revealed for you. I have stopped reading introductions until after I finish the book because of a similar spoiler.
I’ll try Looking for Lovely. The Secret Garden is my favorite. Fun fact: I grew up right by the drive in movie theatre that is on the film version of The Outsiders. I would definitely watch the movie first, but I think it is probably okay for high schoolers. I can’t remember if there is language, but the hospital scenes were intense.

The Outsiders is one of my favorite books. I love the movie. My kids have watched it too. They are 15, 13, and 11.
