I would be bringing in nursing home brochures and sweetly suggesting to dear hubby that if so little was so disruptive to his mommy that she might need more care than we can provide. And add "I only want what's best for the poor dear."
Solution 2, ask boss for a vacation, ideally one month if that can be arranged, and be there for MIL, EVERY MINUTE of her waking hours. Cheerfully take her to every doctor's appointment and pharmacy visit - to get her meds straightened out - and not accept "no" as an answer. Refuse to allow her to go out alone due to her fragile state and tell her that dear hubby would never forgive her if she let anything happen to sweet MIL. Of course, everything could fall apart as soon as that first mystery appointment failed to materialize - but I would be right on that and set her up with a good doctor right away.
One thing I ask on every "Evil MIL" story is, who does the son/husband, who is caught in the middle, ultimately side with? And does the marriage make it or break it? As, in these stories, it can go either way. The son always does seem remorse by the end, either way, but sometimes, the damage is done, and sometimes, he is forgiven. In this case, the damage was done.
Grace under pressure. Grace under fire. Saving Grace.

Grace should put her home office in her OWN BEDROOM. Then perhaps her husband would see why she needs space.

Doesn't OP work from home? Where's she supposed to have her home office, if it's MIL's bedroom?
(boiling water + legs) x police = jail Anyone can understand this equation. Hopefully the jail's orange jumpsuits will not insult MIL's fashion sense.
