    Joel’s getting offed in episode 1 or 2. He will still be in the season throughout in flashbacks etc, but all of this footage pretty much confirms they’re staying very close to the source material. Pedro finished filming months prior to everyone else, too.

      I agree because they showed the red room subway scene in the trailer. And there needs to be enough time before that to show, Leahs death, and Jordans death. which would have to be an episode at minimum and than the scene after with Dina being pregnant. which would probably be the end of season 1

  • @Shrewdy1

    I dont understand the conversation around a potential TV adaptation of TLOU Pt 3 and how they should try and present it as something new. Bless especially keeps drawing parallels to the spin off shows for Game of Thrones and LOTR - but as mentioned, those are completely different stories from a different time, just set in the same world.
    I do agree the 3rd game is some ways off, but if they do adapt it for TV then it'd be extremely weird if they try to present it as something new and a different story - when it's presumably going to be following on from Pt 2's ending with Ellie and Abby/Lev. Just take the few extra years break or whatever it may be, and then announce it as "The new season of The Last of Us". We're already at the stage where big TV shows have 2 years between seasons as standard, and a 3 year gap isn't unheard of (Peaky Blinders has done this). If as Mazin says, they could even stretch Pt 2 over 3 seasons, I don't think there would be a huge gap at all at that stage.
    Just seems like the guys are overthinking it a bit.

    Everyone is thinking to linearly (except Greg possibly) about the Season 2 story. It will be a mix of Abby/ Joel, Ellie every episode. Will tell both stories simultaneously. If they get to the big death moment it doesn’t mean Joel is gone, just like in the game there will be flashbacks in season 3 and possibly 4.
    Important to remember the show will be for many millions of viewers with zero game knowledge.

  • @Woozie87

    I’m sure they will kill Joel early and add more flashback scenes with Joel, can have flashbacks thru Ellie, Tommy, and Dinas Ex Boyfriend because I think they will make him a bigger character in the show. I’m not sure how to say this, but they really should have gone with that MP additional the first game had a great story in the single player, but the multiplayer there was truly unexpected. It was fire. In fact, they ran into a problem, not knowing how do we expand this we want more of it, but they didn’t even have the framework or the team size to give us a lot of content which we would have eaten up.
    I know it would’ve been difficult to have an entire studio work on just one MP game but if there was going to be one, this was it. This is your HBO show that everybody knows about that you could’ve said watch the show play the game for free. Play it on your cell phone play it on your PC play it on your PlayStation , and you should’ve even said play it on your Xbox or your Nintendo switch it was one of the few times where Sony could’ve said. Let’s try and do some Fortnite stuff they could’ve really tried to reach for the stars and gone further. I understand, naughty dog didn’t want to do it, but then they should’ve found someone else to do it. You should’ve told someone else do it.

    I understand why this is less common with the massive scope of modern triple-A games, but I really miss when multiplayer could just be a fun bonus mode in addition to the single player package, as opposed to its own massive project that requires the attention and continued support of the entire studio.
    I really don't understand why Factions 2 couldn't just be a bite-sized bonus mode or even a paid DLC upgrade that came down the road vs. something that they felt would have to change the entire focus/direction of Naughty Dog as a whole.

    I think it should start with Joel telling what happened as a recap.
    Season 2 should be about Ellie. How shes struggling to fit in, exploring relationships, conforming to Jackson and the duties of its citizens, her n Joel's relationship, introduction to seraphites. But the last episode should play out exactly how the mission goes not knowing who Abby is, us being mislead by her being saved, and finally.. the execution. No explanation and just let that shock n hate sit in the audience
    Season 3 should be about Abby.(should be shot at the same time as S.2)
    Abby, WLF, Owen (probably get his own episode) her friends/comrades (maybe they have a nickname for the group), deeper dive into seraphites(def an episode for Lev and his sis), Tommy's assault better get a proper scene.
    I can see the season starting with a Abby flashback to when her and her father rescue the animal stuck in the bobwire. Last 2 episodes, first a mostly chaotic episode ending with Abby finding Owen, cut to a distraught Ellie and maybe even lifting her shirt revealing the shot of Ellie's battered back and being embraced by now prego Dina and cut back to the bloody map being picked up by a red eyed angry Abby. The last episode starting with Joel and Ellie(will also be the first time we see Ellie and Joel's faces for the season.) Transition of her playing the guitar then into now in the theater leading into the final scene at the theater.
    Season 4 episode 1 should be all about ellie, Dina and the baby and having a day on the farm, ptsd, and Tommy.
    Side note i would like to see the show highlight Abby's fear of heights.

  • @neojd

    I wouldn’t be too surprised if Neil just keeps it as close to the game’s arc as possible. You’re going to not like Abby at first but slowly you’ll come to sympathize with her and see that Joel wasn’t a good guy either. Kaitlyn knows what she signed up for.
    As for Part III, of course you’re going to play as Ellie. Neil has stated that TLOU was always Ellie’s story. I feel like 3 has to be about her death, where I’m guessing she’ll find a way to sacrifice herself for the cure.
    As for the live service games, PS definitely invested in the wrong game with Concord. No way TLOU or Spidey multiplayer wouldn’t have at least sold well out of the gate. Huge blunder on their part. Still hoping someday we get the remnants of those games.

  • @nickdalts
    @nickdalts 17 часов назад

    I really think they’ll have a couple episodes of Joel and Tommy before TLOU1 to show the darker side of Joel. We know they did some horrible, selfish stuff to survive. I think the show wants you to really be conflicted about Joel so that when it happens you’re more inclined to empathise with Abby. More of a ‘his past finally catching up with him’.
    The game, for some people, failed to do that because we only ever see Joel through Ellie’s perspective. As a loving, kind father, and when he is brutal it’s to protect her.

  • @Roneish1996
    @Roneish1996 13 часов назад

    For part 3 I’d say it should somehow be about Abby and lev reaching the fireflies that we were told about in the end of the game and maybe somehow the ptsd causing so much baggage to Ellie that she has to try and find fireflies again and it leading to Abby but this time she has decided to try and make up for what Joel stopped from happening in the end of part 1. While obviously that’s a very optimistic version of how it’d go I think the canceled multiplayer game likely was going to deal with the lev and Abby side of things which is a big reason I am sad that game was canceled.

    The porch scene in the trailer makes me really worried about how they will tell the story.
    Season 2's strongest ending would be Abby golfing as that will have shock value and much like all the players felt at that time we all support Bella Ramsey to go full Rambo into season 3.
    And season 3 completely hides the flashbacks from the audience and then bam an entire episode in the museum that was actually filmed during season 2 so Bella is actually younger. Audiences lose their minds and we all cry again. Season 3 ends at the theater and experienced both sides of the conflict. Season 4 is the farm onwards.

  • @CastleChris92

    TLOU Part 2 has great story telling because of its flashbacks and the context they have in present gameplay. But some of the scenes we see in this trailer and the other shorter one are from flashbacks or even present day cutscenes way later in the game (Joel on the porch, the barn scene, Issac being introduced). So I wonder if they won't have flashbacks and might tell the story in a straight forward narrative. Maybe these scenes are here in Season 2 and will also be flashbacks in Season 3 or 4

  • @kkjhn41
    @kkjhn41 День назад

    Joel must still die fairly early in season 2 because the scenes from Seattle that take place after his death would be in the latter part of the season. In that huge hoard attack you see Tommy but you don't see Joel which indicates that he is already dead. This attack could be the reason that Tommy can't put together a group to go after Abby and her group which leaves Ellie and Dina to go alone. I could see the first episode ending with Abby being introduced and saved from the infected by Joel and Tommy and then his death taking place in episode 2. But with only 7 episodes (albeit longer in length than those is season 1) I wouldn't be surprised if they do it even sooner. It just seems like the longer it takes to get to it the less time there is in the remaining episodes to get to the things they've shown us in the trailer.

    This idea that the point of TLOU2 was to get us on Abby's side is, I think, the reason why so many people did not enjoy. Nobody wants that. But, I think that was not actually the point of playing as Abby. You're not supposed to "get" her, or sympathize with her to the point of understanding why she killed Joel. I think you're supposed to realize that people can change. She changed. She did not feel good about what she did. It was wrong, just as much as what Ellie andJoel did was wrong, and everybody else in this world. The point of her character, in a sense, is redemption. Is that possible? Can we let go? Can Ellie let go? If not, the cycle continues. So, once we realize that we are not meant to empathize with Abby, nor with Ellie for that matter, we can appreciate what the story is actually telling us.

    What if last of us 3 is completely different sorta game. Maybe something like a cross between “don’t starve” and “dark cloud” with tower defence mechanics and online co op and pvp mechanics layered in. You create a character and start in Jackson with some of the characters we know and love dropping story arcs as you gradually explore and expand your town by gathering resources. But it has perma death and also online functionality where friends towns are featured on the map and you can join up with them and see there towns and can choose to join theirs or they can join yours, or you can also attack theirs or other random peoples town pvp style and steel their resources to build your own town stronger and advance the story further. But because it’s perma death it feels very risk reward but also allows those who want to role play as the characters they create. Not sure quite how you could layer stories with the characters we know for each individual player without seeing the same characters in other folks towns but it could just be like red v blue where you only see those characters in your own town if that makes sense 🤷‍♂️
