Just saw the movie as it’s finally out in the UK and it was incredible, happy to say I experienced it in a sold out screening with a very diverse audience who all enjoyed it (you could hear all the kids quoting lines leaving the cinema) I’m hoping there will be a sequel 🤞🏻
It’s not hyperbole whatsoever to say, this is the BEST Transformers movie ever made & it’s not even close. It has actual characters & development, it’s not just a cynical toy commercial, it’s got compelling drama, great humour, it gets dark in places, it’s actually about the Transformers, the animation is top notch, it sticks the landing on pretty much every level. It’s also one of the best prequels ever made, in spite of doing all the things I hate about prequels, it makes it work, it’s very earnest & tragic, adding more layers & context to what we’ve seen before, as a good prequel should.
@@huliniswhoiam the song they just released that’s on the Arcane soundtrack with an Arcane-themed music video released before a LoL event isn’t for Arcane?
To clarify Nick's confusion the Quintessons weren't based on Cybertron they were like bandits going from village to village collecting tributes to avoid fights.
54:37 😂😂😂 Andy's childlike way of saying "We saw it in 3D" and then just pausing for so long was hilarious...then Nick's understandable laughter was so great. Even better was that Nick then got all shy and everyone else acted like they didn't know why Nick laughed. I'm dying, just rewatching it over and over. Priceless moment.
To expand on Nick’s bit about the naming of these characters in the 80’s, it was all mostly ONE guy! Marvel writer/editor Bob Budiansky was tasked by Hasbro to come up with much of the character names and lore for The Transformers.
Pretty interesting. I had zero plans of seeing this after my friend said he took his kids to it and they didn't like it. If it's not necessarily a kids movie you may have just changed my mind.
I’m glad you all enjoyed the movie. It’s my favorite Transformers movie hands down. I did enjoy Bumblebee and the 1986 animated movie but the rest were forgettable. As for Transformers One I already watched it three times. When I was invited to the Paramount screening in July I didn’t expect much but after the movie ended I was enthralled and couldn’t wait to watch it again. Watching it in 4DX was incredible and I definitely want to watch it again on IMAX. I hope there will be a sequel so I can see Jazz and Arcee kick some ass
This movie took a lot of inspiration from the IDW transformers comics, which focused a lot on the political structure of Cybertron as a fascist religious state that deemed alt-modes determined your role in society. They did a good job of using the mechanical nature of the characters as a metaphor for how a government can try to control the bodies of its citizens, which some people losing their rights to have a face and hands if they are seen as disruptors (why shockwave only has the one eye and hand)
if word of mouth doesn't save this film we aren't going to get a war for cybertron sequel, which TF1 sets up perfectly. people seriously need to try harder if they want more transformers
WOM won't save anything unfortunately. I've watch daily box office numbers and this is below $1M/dailies yesterday. You don't want that to happen for WEEKS after a movie has released. Not 1 week after... Sad.
I never watch trailers so spoilers from the movie i didnt expect to see starscream or like you know any characters but like seeing starscream and look so fuckin cool at the post credits. Some fuckin sick as shit just vibin shit to see and experience, fuckin great movie!!!!!!
After leaving the theater in 1986 I thought “it couldn’t get any better” fast forward a few decades or so and I was right. After that first Michael Bay atrocity I threw the towel in on transformers. After all the comics and lore..completely thrown out and the designs of the Transformers..urgh. I’ll never forgive them for what they did to bumblebee. Thankfully, High Moon studios restored my faith with their 2 Xbox 360 games. For a review show I was doing I had to go and see “the last knight” or whatever. I just told myself it wasn’t a transformers movie. It was dreadful. A few weeks ago the youtube algorithm started showing me videos about a new transformers movie. First I’d heard about it. So I booked a ticket. I haven’t smiled so much coming out of a theater EVER. YES. After 38 YEARS. FINALLY. They got it right. THIS IS WHAT THE FANS WANT. Keep it cybertron, keep it away from Michael Bay. 👍👍👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉
I cannot stand the bayverse hate. The first 1-3 transformers are goated. And yall mf’s need to put some respect on them. ……..that said, this movie was fucking great lolol. As a REAL transformers fan I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope it gets a sequel
I think it’s like when Batman Begins came out after Batman & Robin: everyone -particularly general audiences- had a connective moment of faux outrage saying “You’re telling me we could have had stuff this good *THE WHOLE TIME???!!!*” I go with this comparison b/c that franchise similarly had an in-depth comic series that examined how the premise could be expanded upon to add nuance to the setting and characters (war starting b/c of revolution, schisms that occur b/w revolutionaries, technocracy as a standin for imperialism, etc)
I think my only complaint with this film is still, why didn’t they get Peter Cullen & Frank Welker, even though Chris Hemsworth & particularly Brian Tyree Henry are great, I can see so many scenes in this film (two in particular) that would’ve been even better if it was Cullen & Welker voicing Prime & Megatron.
@@scorpy2643 And?.. Cullen & Welker are still working voice actors, both have made it clear they’ll voice these characters until the day they pass, let them.

I do not understand how THE two best superhero movies ever made are animated Spider-Man movies and somehow STILL, the default normie reaction to an animated trailer is "Oh God, there's no way this is good." I was on board from the jump. I saw the trailer and said, out loud, "Finally! A Transformers movie that isn't embarrassed about being a Transformers movie."
I enjoyed the Keegan A-A-tron joke when introducing his fake bot "friends."
Saw this with my 8 year old son, he gave it a standing ovation and was hype throughout the movie.

The marketing team screwed over this film, IT WAS GLORIOUS. "I AM MEGATRON!" was delivered beautifully
Yeah seriously. That first trailer was garbage. Probably a big reason why it isn't making as much money as expected.
When D16 said he wanted to kill Sentinel, my whole theater just sat in silence. An amazing performance.
Shouldn’t everyone be sitting in silence anyway lol

Great moment. It's like a surprise villain reveal except it's a motivation reveal.
The roads are from the war for cybertron games. There highways would just materialize as you drive.

That was a SEXY intro 🔥
The music in the 1986 movie fucking slapped 🤟
I was expecting Nick to be Starscream in the intro 🤣
Transformers Animated was great, including the animated style. I grew up with G1 but found animated to be better.

Unfortunately it's not. They will return to dumb live action movies after this doesn't make money.
