I was super invested in the MMG era. I checked out every project that came out from that stable and I honestly feel like all of the artists were good in their own ways, but only a couple were cut out for stardom. Gunplay could've had a huge moment, especially after Cartoons and Cereal dropped, but he got into a lot of legal trouble and released his album about a year after his buzz cooled off. Wale was dope during the swag era, but all his social media antics made people start to look at him as corny and a lot of his gimmicks were hard to relate to. Stalley put out some great music as an MMG artist, but it was basically like CurrenSy without the weed audience built in. I think Ross' taste in artists was a little too refined for the average listener.

The rap game was in a great place in the early 2010 blog era, u had cliques like MMG, Young money, TDE, Good music, asap mob, odd future etc. and a diverse repertoire of trap, street, lyrical and alternative/underground rap in the industry , now sadly everybody sounds the same and there isn’t a healthy balance of individuality and creativity

I really feel for Stalley the most more than anyone else who signed to MMG, the dude was rather a real poetic, laid back smokers music type rapper, with a very unique ear for beats. He did have a lot of misses and luck lustre music while being signed to Ross. Though once he went independent he dropped a crazy fire EP trilogy in 2017 "Tell The Truth, Shame The Devil", CHECK OUT HIS SONGS 'Cleanse' and 'Gangster Prayer ft. Trippie Redd' (you won't regret it, I promise you!). After the trilogy he dropped "Reflection of Self: The Head Trip" which was nice, but after that he has been hit & miss, though he always has one dope unique standout track on any project he drops. Go back and check those two projects out, incredibly unique and slept on.
