I checked out every project that came out from that stable and I honestly feel like all of the artists were good in their own ways, but only a couple were cut out for stardom. Gunplay could've had a huge moment, especially after Cartoons and Cereal dropped, but he got into a lot of legal trouble and released his album about a year after his buzz cooled off. Wale was dope during the swag era, but all his social media antics made people start to look at him as corny and a lot of his gimmicks were hard to relate to. Stalley put out some great music as an MMG artist, but it was basically like CurrenSy without the weed audience built in. I think Ross' taste in artists was a little too refined for the average listener.

I'll give Ross respect in this sense that MMG wasn't shady, because Eminem would sign rappers and wouldn't even try to push them, shady after a while just became the graveyard of rappers. Where a great artist with a lot of buzz went to die. At MMG at least it seemed like Ross was really going to try to push you, it wasn't just him signing you and letting you rot in the studio and not spending any money to put your record out.

I still appreciate MMG for single handily holding down the streets with quality music when labels were trying to white wash the genre and it was nothing but suburban and light conscious rap dominating.
I was a huge fan of Rockie Fresh and Stalley,; mentioning their names brought back a lot of memories on LiveMixtapes. I never knew about the Papoose signing attempt. I thought Ross was trying to sign Wiz & Curren$y, hence the "Super High (Remix).
I think the transition into the new era of hip-hop, the “internet era” (2016-present), led to the downfall of MMG. The look and vibe of most of MMG artist are that of a 2000’s style hip-hop group and sound...that didn’t fit in too well with this new era so smoothly. Some members even look older and rougher, which isn’t the trend anymore in hip-hop.
I felt MMG brought Omarion back into the picture he may not did anything major but it brought him back into the spotlight without his move to MMG we probably wouldn’t saw him on LHH and that hit song “post to be”
It's been 10 years bro. Nobidy has a run that long in music. They grew and wanted different things. Not everybody on the team can be an all-star or mvp caliber player. MMG was a major success in my opinion

I really feel for Stalley the most more than anyone else who signed to MMG, the dude was rather a real poetic, laid back smokers music type rapper, with a very unique ear for beats. He did have a lot of misses and luck lustre music while being signed to Ross. Though once he went independent he dropped a crazy fire EP trilogy in 2017 "Tell The Truth, Shame The Devil", CHECK OUT HIS SONGS 'Cleanse' and 'Gangster Prayer ft. Trippie Redd' (you won't regret it, I promise you!). After the trilogy he dropped "Reflection of Self: The Head Trip" which was nice, but after that he has been hit & miss, though he always has one dope unique standout track on any project he drops. Go back and check those two projects out, incredibly unique and slept on.

Though once he went independent he dropped a crazy fire EP trilogy in 2017 "Tell The Truth, Shame The Devil", CHECK OUT HIS SONGS 'Cleanse' and 'Gangster Prayer ft. Trippie Redd' (you won't regret it, I promise you!). After the trilogy he dropped "Reflection of Self: The Head Trip" which was nice, but after that he has been hit & miss, though he always has one dope unique standout track on any project he drops. Go back and check those two projects out, incredibly unique and slept on.
Stalley was a colossal wasted opportunity.
