The large cities were collapsed but there were still Maya people just as there are today. It took the Spanish 200 years to defeat the Maya guerilla resistance
@@wayneorellana2549 Mayans were on the Yucatán peninsula. Aztecs were not. They Coexisted during the same time but the Maya was an earlier civilization and was on the decline by the time the Spanish got there.
