I'm very tempted to get a resin printer to compliment my filament one. That messy resin though...

This is hands down the best review / tutorial I've seen of the Mars 2 Pro, I am thinking of purchasing the Mars 2 and watching this boosted my confidence. Thank you.

Just bought a Mars 2 Pro after owning and using an Ender 3 Pro for almost exactly 2 years. I am excited to use them in tandem. Mars 2 Pro or minis, Ender 3 Pro for terrain. Great video and very insightful.

    Great, to the point, review.
I'm not into resin printing, and YES it is the resin I dont like
That said, I love the accuracy and speed of the prints.
Thanks for sharing your experiences with all of us :-)

I print with my kids and resin will be a no go for many more years. Looks amazing though...

Would you still recommend this printer today? I want to start resin printing and am looking for a good beginner printer to see if this is my thing or not. And this printer is available for €120 on ebay right now, so I was curious if this one still holds up in 2023. Or should I get the Anycubic Photon Mono 4K instead (€180 on ebay)?

Absolutely amazing video. I also come from the filament printers but I recently bought this same printer and this video fits me like a glove.
Very well explained and very technical. I am of the idea that if something was created or designed by an engineer you have to follow the instructions to the letter because at the end of the day it is a working tool, whether it is for hobbies or for whatever you need. A lot of the problems that people who buy this type of technology have is that they don't want to or don't have time for research and there is no single video to learn how to use this type of technology and above all you need patience.

This was the best review of this printer I have come across. I have been looking at getting into Resing, also from the FDM world. I can't see this replacing my FDM printer because I like throwing money and time away - but I do think this has been a deciding video for me as I still think this machine is relevant from the time you put this video out. I am still using a 10-year-old FDM printer, so I think this Mars 2 will be relevant for a few years to come.

my neighbour gave me one of these (he got it from a Elegoo and abused it for some time) as the lcd started malfunctioning. It’s definately interesting and has its perks yet the safety and resin itself just makes me think Ill stay on the fdm side for now.
Thanks for review, I didnt know how to get along with it and probably would scratch the lcd too

Thank you so much for the detailed review and first print explanation. I have had my Elegoo Mars 2p for about a month, and due to work hours, I can finally run my first print. I have been printing with the Anycubic Mega X, Kobra Go, and, most recently, the Longer Lk4. It took me a couple of months to figure them out, but I'm getting the hang of it. To your point, FDM printers are truly fun to work with when they are working. I find myself constantly adjusting, fixing, and fine-tuning. I am looking forward to seeing how the Elegoo is going to work out. Again, thanks for your video; I look forward to seeing some of your others. 🥰🥰🥰

Great overall feedback fam, I think I'll just get a filament printer instead just to avoid the toxic waste and continuous cleaning purchases. Whereas I rather learn to convert plastic bottles into filament which I've seen videos of already and they hardened my desire to finally get a 3d printer.
Resin printing does look dope with how detailed you can be like miniature figures and fine details but yea filament is probably better for me. I didn't know that filament printers would require constant tuning of the settings so that's bit of a bummer ahah I'll definitely learn to maintain a stable setting then.
    Thanks fam 🙏

Thanks for the excellent review. I've been working for years with 3D printing at school and at the lab, but never got a machine for my own personal use. My 12-year-old son expressed interest in 3D printing last week, but I was reticent of getting him into FDM printing and all its complexities. I did a bit of research, and found an affordable Mars 2 Pro for 250 CAD (new open box), so I got it for my son's birthday. It's been a BLAST, I got the exact same experience as you. ZERO failure rate, easy calibration, amazing results. I am now experimenting a new resin, the Siraya Blu, for toughness. Keep on with the amazing videos, I rarely subscribe, but I did it for your channel, because of the quality of the video and the content. BTW, dealing with toxic resin is a good way to teach a kid how to manipulate hazardous material. It will come in handy when he'll grow up and play with house/car renovations.... ;)

Really considering one of the Elegoo Mars 2 models. I've seen a review about water based resin which doesn't need the alcohol and is easier to use. Interested in other's thoughts on it.

Love your detailed (and well-filmed) review. I just looked at the Amazon link you provided and noted that the Mars 2 Pro costs just over half what I paid for my FDM printer. Amazing. Yes, dealing with the liquid resin looks like a pain, but the results are stunning. Might have to make the investment one of these days.

you will get used to the messiness when you have your work area and cleaning tools figured out completely - and understand the importance of appropriate PPE!! the fun part stops when you start chasing zeros : minimizing sopports, print and post processing times - but thats the same with any other manufacturing technique

Welcome to the club. I started with a similar sized Creality printer and quickly realized the build area wasn't going to work. Jumped to a Saturn within a week and haven't looked back since. BTW, I came from an Ender 3.
For the resin, I'd look to Siryah Tech, their Blu (strong and durable) and Tenacious (flexible) are pretty much the go-to for anything needing a little strength and durability. I generally use an equal 33% mix of those two along with a normal cheap fast resin for color, but I think most people just use a 50/50 mix of the Blu or Tenacious resins along with a normal resin.

I bought two of these printers to print a miniature project of 11,000 miniatures for production of 25 war games. I had to have both machines exchanged after ordering them since they did not work out the box. I believe it was the UV light. Once I got two machines going and figures out the ins and out of the machines, I was able to get a little factory going being able to print about 40-50 mini's at a time. If you set the layer height to .1 from .05, it prints about twice as fast. Also make sure you set the bottom layer correctly depending on resin type. The whole project took over a month. I would strongly recommend the flex plates in that it saves you so much time having to level and clean the machines if you are doing higher volume printing.

i love the mars 2 pro but that non replaceable filter killed me. Its a good starter to get into resin printing but I recommend an upgrade once you got the hang of it. Or be like my brother and buy aquarium filter blocks and cut them to size with a hacksaw.

I also started with a Ender series, and just purchased a Mars 2 pro as my first resin printer and I have a friend who had one already. I am very excited and my friend also loves printing things, yes a little messy with resin but worth it.

Depends on your temperature. If it’s in the right range, nah. Let it sit, it’ll be fine. Just stir it up when you go to use it.

I just got one of these last week and it's my first resin printer. I LOVE IT!!! This thing is awesome. The only drawback is the small print surface area. But other than that, it's great. The detail of the prints is magnificent compared to my Creality Ender 3 filament printer.
