So to address a few questions I've been asked a bunch of times: 1. There will absolutely be a Scarlet movie 2. I'm probably gonna do a 18-part badge quest for Violet. 3. autolevel gauntlet...someday (boring mechanic to me honestly) 4. surprise (wonder) trade gauntlet 3 FOR SURE
For the badge quest, you should hunt a Pokemon of the same type as whatever objective you just cleared (so when beating the Stony Cliff Titan you hunt a Rock-type, when beating gym leader Katy you hunt a Bug-type...)! I did something very similar for Ultra Moon (although I still haven't finished, even though I'm basically at the home stretch) and it was pretty fun since there's a decent variety of Pokemon available even from the start. Paldea's got even more variety, so it would work perfectly here! And since you can clear objectives out of order, it might encourage you to go after later quests to round out one of your teams (Still quite miffed with the lack of level scaling, but we work with what we get!).
Be honest the shiny evelution is a disappointment. I'm tired of cool pokemon getting so little changes you can't even tell its a shiny. What's the point.
For anyone wanting to hunt Charcadet, you can make a custom fire encounter level 2 sandwich with 6 rice, 2 curry powder, and 2 wasabi. And also the best place I found to hunt it was in the Tagtree Thicket (near Zapapico) since it was the only fire type that spawns in that particular area. Hope this helps!

I'm really not a fan of how unlike Legends Arceus you don't hear or see a sparkle effect when a shiny pokemon spawns. I get that's it's a bit more satisfying and exciting when you do spot a shiny because it was entirely up to you to spot it. But, this makes me so paranoid and makes me feel like I've missed a million shinies that were slightly off screen or subtle enough that I never noticed the difference. Edit: I've found a shiny or two since this post and now I'm even more mad. So you know how if you press zl you can focus and lock on to a certain pokemon and it'll tell you what species it is, it's level etc. Well you'd figure that y'know they'd put a little star there at least to denote that it's a shiny pokemon like they do on the summary screen or boxes. But nope, even if it's a shiny pokemon you do not get anything extra added to that screen. I feel they should have at least done that, because it's the bare minimum. I still really like the games but man, they really should have done something more with the shinies.
Its not a bad Idea... Until you remember how many shinies are just a single shade different. I was hunting one of the new mons for ~1k encounters? I phased and moved on. But I looked the shiny up later and its Just as bad as slowpoke. Even hunting it now theres a massive chance of not seeing the difference. =/
Legends made it so obvious when a shiny came, but it should still be in this game. At least one quick Star animation then some sparkling aura around it would be appreciated.
@@AJ2DAGAMES yeah, arceus had a pretty loud sound effect, I'd be fine if Scarlet and Violet had a much quieter and more subtle one, or like you said some stars or sparkles around them in the field like in Let's Go, but as it stands currently we're completely on our own
i think the sparkle sound should be in the game, but more subtle, so you really have to keep an ear out. i also think when the shiny first appears on screen it does a quick sparkle animation, so you can see the shiny if youre looking, but if you miss it you miss it. i also miss in legends arceus when you target or battle a shiny theres a sparkle icon next to its name to indicate that its shiny.
Did you notice in Pokemon Sword/Shield, if you just walk past a Shiny without battling it so you never know it's a Shiny, it still racks up on the counter on the back of the card?
@@ClemFwhe I want to hunt for shinies, not be notified when there's one in the vicinity. Finding them is the magic of shiny hunting, and having the game tell me when to look for one entirely defeats the purpose.
@@NebulaCrisis you're definitely in the minority on that one, personally it's a huge strain on the eyes for really small pokemon where there's barely a difference. Plenty of people have probably gone past shinies in this game for that reason
@@NebulaCrisis good luck finding out most of the microscopic mon and the ones who barely changes. It's incredibly satisfying to find a shiny in this game, but I can't afford to lose my eyesight because I'm trying to see if a Sinistea is pink or if a Slowpoke is barely less tanned.

By the way, you can check out the International Phonetic Alphabet chart on Wikipedia to see all the sounds used in every human language, including some blank spaces where some noises have not been made use of. There are some parts of the chart that are grayed out to indicate sounds that are physically impossible to make.

I am finally out of my personal spoiler lockdown and I have to say, I have no kind words for the folks that put gigantic spoilers right in the thumbnail, I thought I had a pretty good lockdown in place but a couple random recommendations spoiled some things for me ☹️. When I kindly pointed out that I was sad about the spoiler I got flamed pretty hard by the video poster. What an awesome hunt! I got my shiny Charcadet day 2 using the mass outbreak + picnic method. It was awesome to hunt just by looking for the differences with the new pokemon. Excited to see more!

Sweet shiny! King of the Falinks!! I'm done everything titans/team Star and all but one gym, but I feel like there's still a lot of game to discover. That's a nice feeling.
The food powers are so amazing. I wanted to shiny hunt for the pseudo legendary and at first I was checking it in a cave where it spawns guaranteed but than I realized it wasn't changing stats so it wouldn't be shiny. The pseudo appears everywhere in an area but it's very rare and I hadn't even seen one but after eating Escalivada in Cascarrafa it was insane how many were spawning! Congrats on the shiny and despite Armarouge and Ceruledge not really changing at least they already look awesome. This is most definitely the next hunt I'm going to do before finishing up my remaining story quests.

Congrats on the shiny Charcadet! So funny story- I was doing tera raids to grind EXP candies for the hard-to-evolve mons like Dreepy, Larvesta, etc and found a Charcadet raid. At first I thought it was shiny cause I thought part of the helmet was different, then I changed my mind. It was a last-second decision to catch the thing and when I checked the summary screen I kinda lost it haha...I like the shiny but I do wish it wasn't so subtle (I would've loved to see Armarouge and Ceruledge trade color schemes for their shinies).
Rad, now I know what to look for. Although I'm gonna wait til i have Scarlet to hunt that, because now that you've made the shiny armarouge/falinks comparison, I want a shiny armarouge way more.
The game looks so fun... I had to unsubscribe from some people to prevent getting myself spoiled. I didn't mind this one since it was already somewhat kinda revealed and I got spoiled from ebay of all places. Massive thank you for keeping the spoiler stuff to a minimum while explaining a few things. I cannot wait until my copy arrives in the mail... i got my own full odds shiny charcadet shortly after watching this!! decided to just put on a fire power sandwich and ride around a bit and got super lucky haha ngl i really love the shiny, its nice and subtle but in a way where its still really noticeable, and it works with the lore of the armor since that then also being a different color would be kinda off imo
To add to the shiny discussion, I personally wish we had an option added to see the sparkles and hear the sound, but have it toggle on and off. I personally have health issues that will likely make me skip over especially small/subtle shinies, but I can see how looking closely and paying extra attention adds an element of suspense and a "treasure hunting" vibe!

So frustrating that there’s no overworked jingle/sparkle. It’s such a huge step back imo especially with so many small pokemon

If you didn’t know already, using the let’s go feature on your Pokémon will not kill shines, the Pokémon you send out will avoid attacking the shiny.

Grats!!! Yeah hunting is so fast in this game. I still respect anyone trying to do a method for a quicker shiny, but full odds feels soooooo quick anyway!

i got my own full odds shiny charcadet shortly after watching this!! decided to just put on a fire power sandwich and ride around a bit and got super lucky haha
ngl i really love the shiny, its nice and subtle but in a way where its still really noticeable, and it works with the lore of the armor since that then also being a different color would be kinda off imo

To add to the shiny discussion, I personally wish we had an option added to see the sparkles and hear the sound, but have it toggle on and off. I personally have health issues that will likely make me skip over especially small/subtle shinies, but I can see how looking closely and paying extra attention adds an element of suspense and a "treasure hunting" vibe!
