1999 Mercury Grand Marquis LS with Premium Group (17 minutes) Авто/Мото
Got nearly 300,000 miles on my 2000 Marquis and she still purrs like a kitten
Still see these on the roads every day. It and its sisters were absolute quality vehicles.
My 98 is just broken in with 175K . Runs perfect. I feel bad buying a new car.
@@alb12345672 keep it. No rust = it’ll outlive you.
I like the LS Trim Model Because it's all leather
I"ve got a 98 with LS trim level. only 46,000 miles. SWEET RIDE!
Ah!!!! This car brings back old memories. I remember when I was like in my pre-teen years (around 2000-2003), my Grandparents had a 2000 Grand Marquis w/ the handicap sticker hanging on the mirror, LOL. It was gold just like the one in the video but had tinted windows. They use to keep it parked under their "open" carport. Plenty of Friday evenings pulling up to Golden Corral w/ the Grams in that car. Those were the days...
Nowadays, u see these cars with custom paint and 24s.
People like your grandparents back in the early 2000s bought them & kept them clean and tuned. Now so many years have passed since they were new the ones that i see in my area are mostly beat & absued. I have a 2000 gs in silver its in good shape, but i cant belive how many i see with chewed up bumpers missing center caps holes in the grill etc.
@@robertriley1569 same here! I had a 2011 ls and it seemed like every single one I saw, whether it was another grand marquis, town car, or crown vic, even the lx versions, was absolutely beat to hell. Every time that happened I always felt like I was the only person that actually cared about my panther, which sucks.
@@carlenger9707 yep 2011 was a unique year to have because of it being the last production year. I regularly wash & wax mine and keep the whitewalls white. The ones i see when I'm out in public are driven hard & abused i see alot of them being driven by girls in there 20s now, probably inherited from grandpop. I can remember back in the early 2000s seeing towncars vics and marquis in parking lots when the original owners had them and how clean and beautiful they were.
@@robertriley1569 Ever since I had mine I’ve been on the hunt for a 2011 model year made in 2011, I’ve looked at probably bundreds by now and only one that I’ve ever found was made in 2011 and it was sold before I got to it. rest were all made in ‘10, most of them in August, just like mine.
I love these cars I owned one a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis for over 12 years with absolutely noo issues. I would love to own another one again .
Love these cars I have a 99 and 00 LS ultimate editions
I got an 02. Looks just like the one rolling around in this video.
Just great cars. The panther platform was incredibly reliable.
I own a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis LS in the harvest gold metallic as shown in this video. Great, comfortable, smooth riding car. Love it.
I have a gold 98 LS. All stock except for an Android stereo with gps and heated seat. Digital dash. Excellent car.
I also had the 99 gold like in the video. Now i own a 05. The 99 ride is smoother and the 05 steering is more precise.
Even though It's discounted The Grand Marquis Is a Good Car lots of Leg Space in the Back and the Trunk is Huge You can put like 30 Groceries Bag in it
I like the Ones with the digital dash
I miss Mercury!
My 99 MGM is from FL and the carriage bolts are still the gold color from the factory 😁
I have a Town Car, these are well built and comfortable cars. Can't say that so much about modern turbo crossover generic vehicles.
Got a 2001 blue grand marquis it needs some love but still cherry
I had a 03 it was a good car
I wish these were still made. Heck they even used to make mid sized cars like this too. The Mercury Sable was a front wheel drive sedan with the front bench seats like these and old school shifter. Would be happy if those were still made.
how reliable are the old sables? A family I know still has their 2002 taurus that they bought new that's still humming along, but you really don't see too many of those anymore.
@@carlenger9707
From what I have heard. If they have the 3.0 Vulcan engine and the transmission isn’t abused, they can last. My grandpa had a 1998 Taurus that he used 18 years until he sold it this year.
I had one it’s a quality vehicle Ford built I will say that
A lot better than the Lincoln in many ways.
- Price
- Same Interior
- Same Engine
- Looks just as good
- Designed for personal buyers instead of livery buyers so they focus more on the interior and its amenities
- When loaded out the Mercury has the same features, if not more due to higher sales.
I suggest you compare the two fully loaded. The Town Car is so much more luxurious. It’s styling screams luxury car.
I actually prefer the Grand Marquis to the 98 and up towncar it was a perfect blend of square round styleing, the later town cars were overly rounded for my taste
Possibly the best value car available at that time, what a load of car for the money, and a good car too, reliable and tough
There's my baby! Except she's straight piped now!
I have that same extact car/ So smooth!
Same door handles as the European Ford Scorpio.
Yep. Wish they’d offered the Scorpio here in the USA. The Merkur Scorpio was a BEAUTIFUL offer but stupid American buyers didn’t know what it was. Had Ford offered it as the Ford Scorpio it would’ve been SUPER successful!
@@fredaydaybae8450 as a "stupid American buyer" I'd rather have a grand marquis
Awesome
7:05 Nice 👍
يابعد قلبي يالماركيز ☹️💔💔💔
اي والله
ABS optional on a 1999 model luxury car? That is just ridiculous. It should have been standard for years by then. The European Ford Scorpio had ABS as standard from 1985.
Yep. The Merkur Scorpio made these cars look ridiculous on the same showroom floor. Too bad buyers were stupid.
Do you have the product training of the Ford Freestar?
hey my friend do you have the 2000 lincoln ls product training video???
I can hook these cars through the windshield with my forks and the roof does not tear away while taking it to the crusher. The frame is very weak on these panther platform cars. I can fold the car in half with 1 fork on stretched models to fit it in the crusher.
😍😍😍😍😍
it is a good car i have one
وش جابك هنا 😂😂
Was. My first car 99 grand marquis would never pick a Buick over it not even the park ave ultra that’s supercharged
I have 03 merc 200miles rides brand new
A MUSTANG BONED A TRUCK AND HAD A GRAND MARQUIS
Grand Marquis is a luxury car. At that time it was popular. Inside is also luxury. It is a prestige car. Grand Marquis is similar to Lexus.
I can’t believe Americans were buying these in 1999!! It looks archaic!
cant believe grandma drives a cop car
I just bought one in 2024.
Yeah grand marquis snd crown Victoria over FWD Chevy caprice classic all day long
Which Caprice was FWD?
What would you have and why ?
This grand marque or a e39 bmw (m5 )
A grand marquis; and why? Because they are handsome cars and they also represent the USA!!!
The Grand Marque ,All Day Every Day.
Grand marquis
Marquis. The e39 is a great car. I have owned both.
4.6 litre V8 and only 200bhp. How do they get so little power from such a big engine. Should be at least 350bhp
I believe it makes so little power to increase longevity. Less stress, more life.
It’s a small v8 that’s is designed for longevity with a healthy amount of torque to haul a family.
I like these...but, the use of recirculating ball steering (with its vagueness and stupid system of linkages) in 1999 is disappointing - one of the worst features of any US spec car.
I’ve never had an issue with it on my cars. They lack that extremely tight feeling, yes. But there’s plenty of feedback to take curves with confidence. About to look at an 04 today that has rack and pinion. I’ll compare it to my Town Car….
@@RodknockRhett soft numb steering is in keeping with the style of this big v8 rwd boat. The car was not ment to have tight sporty European handling.
@Robert Riley I disagree to an extent - rack / pinion improved the big Aussie cars out of all recognition...the handling was still somewhat American, but it was _safer._
A world of difference between a LeSabre and Grand Marquis. That's a lie.
They talked a lot of crap on Buick but which brand is still in business?
Only cause its so popular in China, where people want a cushy passenger's car over bad city roads. It's barely alive in the US: one econobox imported from Korea, one compact SUV imported from China, and a midsize which is the same as the Acadia sold under the same roof.
@@straightpipediesel Selling over 200,000 cars a year in the U.S. is not insignificant. The new Encore GX is selling like crazy and I suspect the new Envision will sell well too. Side note- the Enclave is not a rebadged Acadia. The Enclave is 11 inches longer due to the fact that it uses the long wheelbase version of the platform.
@@jacobyo99 Don't be fooled by the sales. The Encores all went to rental car fleets. It's a box checker made for them: "luxury" brand, available AWD, "SUV".
@@straightpipediesel false. I see them EVERYWHERE, along with the TrailBlazer. Some may be rentals, but people are clearly buying them
@@jacobyo99 Ex-rentals. Doesn't make sense for the people who can afford new cars to buy a luxury gas-powered econobox. Not comparable to the Trailblazer, just look at the pricing. Encore GX $2650 off right now with 0%. Trailblazer's going only for $500, excluded from 0%, summer payment deferral going on right now, just like the Tahoe and Suburban. Maybe you should actually rent one and experience the mediocrity, that will calm your Daewoo boner down.
