When I was a child, I was scared by Sunshine's Wiggler. He's big, and almost the whole level is the battlefield. Seeing this giant beast running that fast in seemingly random directions (although it's not random at all, but I was a child so I didn't understood his movement pattern), when it seems like there's no safe place to be was scary. (And then there was the Phantamanta and it was a hundred times worse. I had my aunt doing the level for me, it was too scary and difficult. And now, thanks to those memories and how fantastic those bosses are, Wiggler and Phantamanta are some of my favorite bosses in gaming.)

Nathaniel Bandy: 3D Land and 3D World Pom Pom are both similar. Me in my mind: Wait. Doesn't Super Mario 3D Land have a version of Pom Pom where she throws a boomerang instead of shurikens, doesn't split into clones, and hides in her shell jumping all around once hit? I've been fooled.
As a kid, I’d play Mega Leg HOURS on end. It just seemed like such a fun boss. What i’d change is when the 2nd phase happens, you get launched back the the ground and have to avoid more obstacles while climbing back up.
Yeah, that's the biggest issue with Mega Leg: the best aspect of the fight is so short, and easy - you make it to the top, and then, it transitions into corralling bullet bills, which is nowhere near as fun. Like, at that point the massive scale of the boss is no longer an aspect of the encounter - you're just running around on the platform. I'd scrap the bullet bill section entirely, and have you loosening bolts, or damaging joints, before getting cast down onto the planetoid. Then, you'd endure a standard shockwave-stomp, and missile barrage attack pattern before you're able to climb up to repeat the process - each time with increased security on the legs, as you suggested. I think that would emphasize the mechanical and giant aspects of the fight well. Here's hoping for Megaleg MK.II one of these days.
Mecha Bowser from Sunshine is such a unique boss. The fact that you’re fighting against a giant robot is different, but the environment that you take it on is SUPER interesting. Shooting it with rockets as you’re riding around on a rollercoaster while avoiding Bullet Bills is such a cool idea! Plus, the buildup to the fight (starting from when Peach is taken to the island) and the reveal at the end of the fight is amazing! Now that I think about it, Sunshine has such a unique set of bosses. Whether it’d be the Shadow Mario Chases and their different mechanics, Gooper Blooper’s limbs being ripped off and flinging it away from the mouth, Eely Mouth being a really cool underwater boss with a fun premise, the Manta Ray’s constant splitting, Petey Piranha, Wiggler’s rampage, King Boo’s Roulette concept, Bowser’s Showdown on top of Corona Mountain that utilizes the Rocket Nozzle, and even the Chain Chomplets if you want to count them. Some of these bosses are actually hard. I’m surprised we didn’t get a boss that utilized Yoshi. The closest thing would be the Shadow Mario Chases for the Turbo and Rocket Nozzles in the Plaza
Honestly I'd probably be annoyed if there was a yoshi boss just because after doing the rapids red coin shine I basically hated Yoshi in Sunshine due to how it's so difficult to get Yoshi to the island in time. Also, that's a good point about the unique mechanics. I feel like part of the issue is the implementation of said mechanics, sometimes due to it not working well such as Eely Mouth and the issue being the difficulty in maneuvering underwater. I've actually beaten him a bunch in the past but not been able to get to the star due to how hard it is to move underwater. Another example, the Bowser fight is anticlimactic and would be better for a different boss imo, potentially something like the solar panels bit in the beach world. Part of this is because it doesn't even use the central mechanic of spraying goop/paint.
This video was made such a long time ago so I don’t expect you to see it, but I really appreciate the time and effort put in to this video, you made chapters for each and every boss, and the commentary is great, I love that you still make these to this day, currently binging them

Sorbetti, forgettable? Dude, when I played as a kid, I got pretty scared when I realized the planetoid I was hopping around on seconds ago, WAS the boss! I was not expecting that! Plus, he looks like a clown, rolls around ready to crush you, and his ice shard eyes were kinda scary looking back then!... he still strikes me as an odd-looking one, when compared to Galaxy's other bosses. I also laughed when I saw that the arena planetoid was slightly larger and had two thin trees. It was like a snowman! As for Mega-Leg, yeah, it was pretty awesome. My only wish was that it had lasted longer, honestly speaking. Maneuvering the Bills towards the glass dome was pretty cool, sure, but imagine if you had to enter its mechanisms after that! Imagine what you would have to deal with when inside it!

My top five favourite bowser fights: 5 nsmbwii: this is already one of the most epic. The anxiety of a giant bowser chasing you down plus the music makes for the absolute best 2d bowser fight. 4 meowser: bowser becomes a furry. And I love it. This is just another epic final boss and a perfect end. 3 smg: when bowser fights get even more epic. It might seem like not such a hard boss, but I just can't get over how insanely epic this fight was (I know that's like the fourth time I said epic and it's probably not the last). 2 odyssey: the fight is already so much fun. But the fact we can use bowser is something truly magical. And it has my favourite mario song of all time: break free (lead the way) is just one hell of a banger. 1 fury bowser: alot of people see bowser's fury as one of the more mid 3d mario games in comparison to the others. But this boss fight is so epic. So chaotic. So insanely fun and challenging that it's just too great. This is my favourite bowser fight and overall my favourite mario boss fight of all time.

galaxy’s bowser fight was definitely rad as hell, but for me it will always be tainted by the fact that i beat him like five times as a kid because the ending cutscene never played. i was SURE there had to be more, but it just never came, even when i tried getting EVERY star, so i was like “well i guess you’re just meant to understand it’s over.” imagine my surprise when i saw the ending cutscene for the first time years later in a game theory video! i still have no idea what was wrong with my copy of galaxy.
Megaleg genuinely scared me when I was younger. There was a real intense and scary feel to it and climbing it genuinely felt fun to climb and satisfying to finally beat.
i hated the daredevil run with the fiery dino pirahnha and this one surprisingly though i got the bouldergeist daredevil in one try the last time i did a speedrun to luigi
Super Mario Galaxy 2’s final boss is amazing! The idea is awesome, the music is one of the best final boss themes ever, but he takes about 5 seconds to defeat.

2:49 the 3d land version of Pom Pom is totally different though, instead of a ninja star, she has a boomerang and no illusions and when you jump on het she retracts into her shell to literally bonk you back, but harder.

If bowser's fury was out when this video was made, I would have placed that mode's final Bowser fight as second place just for how awesome the spectacle is. Chasing after him while he tries to slow you down is so cool

My top five favourite bowser fights:
5 nsmbwii: this is already one of the most epic. The anxiety of a giant bowser chasing you down plus the music makes for the absolute best 2d bowser fight.
4 meowser: bowser becomes a furry. And I love it. This is just another epic final boss and a perfect end.
3 smg: when bowser fights get even more epic. It might seem like not such a hard boss, but I just can't get over how insanely epic this fight was (I know that's like the fourth time I said epic and it's probably not the last).
2 odyssey: the fight is already so much fun. But the fact we can use bowser is something truly magical. And it has my favourite mario song of all time: break free (lead the way) is just one hell of a banger.
1 fury bowser: alot of people see bowser's fury as one of the more mid 3d mario games in comparison to the others. But this boss fight is so epic. So chaotic. So insanely fun and challenging that it's just too great. This is my favourite bowser fight and overall my favourite mario boss fight of all time.
Who sees Bowser’s Fury as mid? Who has ever said that? Everyone I know who’s played it absolutely loves it!

@@Yoshistar238 the game has a couple negatives, such as mission repeating and Fury Bowser getting intrusive by the end of the game, but from what I heard the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. There probably were a couple people who disliked it as you heard, but like you, I love it.
NSMBW and Odyssey are overrated because the second half is literally you doing more platforming, not actual Fighting.

galaxy’s bowser fight was definitely rad as hell, but for me it will always be tainted by the fact that i beat him like five times as a kid because the ending cutscene never played. i was SURE there had to be more, but it just never came, even when i tried getting EVERY star, so i was like “well i guess you’re just meant to understand it’s over.” imagine my surprise when i saw the ending cutscene for the first time years later in a game theory video! i still have no idea what was wrong with my copy of galaxy.
Megaleg genuinely scared me when I was younger. There was a real intense and scary feel to it and climbing it genuinely felt fun to climb and satisfying to finally beat.

Super Mario Galaxy 2’s final boss is amazing! The idea is awesome, the music is one of the best final boss themes ever, but he takes about 5 seconds to defeat.
