@@brendangibson8200 No way. Lyrically their best and most personal album imo. Very dark and raw. Maybe not the best “production” but it aids to its concept. Mike intentionally screamed with little to no effects on his voice and it adds so much to it.
I made a friend in a TDWP show in 2018, we went to nearly every show they played around the area. Today I found out he’s no longer with us. This song hits even harder for me now. Rest in power Vincent 🖤
Weird question, I seen a video where I believe it was in NY they were touring and they said. "This song goes out to Vincent" please tell me that is the same guy. Cause if it is, what an amazing thing.
I’ve lost a lot of friends to suicide. Now when I hear of another’s passing, I always hope it was something out of their control like cancer or a wreck, and not a willing choice to leave this world.
I've just lost my father last December from Cancer after a four year battle against that illness. And my mother also had Cancer two years ago and she is still trying so hard to recover from it. As you can see Cancer has been putting a lot of suffering in my family. I've been crying my heart out since the first time I listened to this song last year and now I can cry my heart out every time I watch this video as well. I love this band since 2009, the first time I watched a video from them. I'm in love with the last album and I'm writting this while I'm crying so hard. I wish the band could read this comment some day, it would mean a lot to me. Thanks and greetings from Brazil!
eu sinto muitíssimo pelo seu pai, é uma dor imensa perder alguém tão importante ainda mais pelo câncer, espero também que sua mãe consiga se recuperar bem do câncer também, tudo vai ficar bem. continue sendo forte do jeito que é!
Mike said in an interview that Jonathon, their keyboard player wrote the lyrics for this song. A hero of his had passed away and his first instinctual thought was that he hoped it was an illness and not something darker. Crazy stuff. What an awesome track to end the album with
This album came out about two weeks after my psych hospital stay this summer. I always relate to their lyrics, but this song hit me so deep on so many levels that I never had hit from lyrics before. As terrible as it is, I told my mom before the album dropped that I wish I was able to leave a different way than doing it myself so my loved ones didn’t bear any guilt. This song made me feel less alone when I needed it most, and I really do think this album had a helping hand in keeping me here. Thank you to everyone in TDWP 🤘🏻
My father was a man who struggled with life. He coped using alcohol. As a result he was not in my life how i wish he was. He was homeless for the last 20 plus years of his life. In the end of his life i was able to take him in for hospice care. He lived with me for about 6 months. He died from stage 4 lung cancer and brain cancer. I was greatful he didnt die drunk on the side of the road. Instead cancer took him. I have never been so greatful for a song in my life. Thank you TDWP. THANK YOU.
I'm battling cancer myself and to hear this song and knowing the true meaning behind it personally I tell them everyday I see these guys how much the song is great
Cried like a baby. Not even sure why. There’s an energy within this song that hits so hard. I don’t think I’ve ever been more proud to be a lifelong TDWP fan. They are KILLING it right now. Killer song, excellent video.
I think it’s about how one of the band members, can’t remember which, but they heard a childhood hero of theirs passed away and their brain went to the worst place..instantly hoping it wasn’t suicide, and the reality of how that made them feel
3:50 on this part it, when the music fades away, it feels like if you went back in time 2 weeks before tragedy happened, when everything was still fine, like some sort of relief when the music fades away, like time travel.
I never fucked with these guys like that. Randomly a song came on from this and I was like ok let's check this album out. Sat through the whole thing like damn this is a masterpiece
this song came out right as my mom was diagnosed with cancer and later died within a month and a half. this song (and album) was there for me during such a hard time and still is. i can't thank you enough for this
Guys, I can't help but listen to this song released at the same time my brother-in-law was losing his battle with cancer. Synchronicity. He was also battling mental illness for a long time, but he was so much fun, he enjoyed life with music, he was happy with his friends and family, and he was always there to help anyone who had problems. These words, this song mean a lot to me. It tears me up and comforts me at the same time. Thank you for bringing this gem to life as he was leaving for the stars. Big love from MED (that will try to catch you up in Quebec city soon).
The last minute and 35ish second is pure perfection heavy then fades out with this ethereal somberness that perfectly embodies what the track is about.
I know the song wasn't written to be about cancer necessarily. But at 26 years old, I beat an advanced state of thyroid cancer that I discovered last year. This song hits.
Devil wears prada is one of these rare groups where every song triggers so much emotion. I loved them back in the day and I love em now! Grtz from Belgium
It was the original recording of the demo for this song. It's great to see how something as simple as just playing an acoustic guitar and singing a few lines bloom into a full song like this.
Wow, this song really hits me a lot. My ex-girlfriend died a few years ago, by suicide. And since then, every time I hear sad news, the first thing I think is this: I hope it wasn't the same way. I know it may be selfish, or it may be incomprehensible. Take care of yourself, your loved ones, and your mental health
TDWP absolutely proving me right for defending them all those years when old fans would claim they're washed up. This band has a creative vision unmatched by anybody else in the scene.
At this point you guys have to make the video for every song.. No one has ever done such things before but I believe Color Decay truly, truly deserves it.
I listened to TDWP for the first ever time just before New Year, and in January I’ve listened to them non stop, every single album and EP and they’ve completely blown me away. Although I love all of their sounds, this album really is special, and I’m so happy to be experiencing it in the present
I've been listening to Prada since they first hit the scene way back in the day and you can really hear how mature this sound is as the members have become older. This new album makes my heart happy and I can't wait to see it live in April!
This album hit home for me in a time that I didnt even know I needed it. Every song, every lyric, sits with me and make me feel so much better. Thank you boys so much for such a masterful album.
Their last 2 albums have been A+. The rawness towards the end of the song is goosebump worthy. Superb work. This is my 3rd favorite off the album behind Broken and Trapped
My favorite song off the whole record, it’s a masterpiece. Been a fan since I was only 9 around the time when WRAABB came out and I’m almost 24 now, never been tired of this band even with the new sound. I could say I’ll listen to this band until the day I die. TDWP forever ❤️
The opening is crazy! I can't help admiring the charisma, kinda dark and slow-ish atmosphere. It's so deep, emotional and inspiring at the same time. This song is insane! Mike delivered me shivers!
Definitely my absolute favorite song on this insanely good album!! The emotions in the song just ooze out of the vocals and music. Thank you, guys, for being you!
I've been following TDWP since the release of Dear Love: a Beatiful Discord, it's easily my favorite band, so I say with authority TDWP doesn't miss a beat on any of their albums, just like this song, this album is perfect
This song came at the exact time I needed it. I love that we have a music video to it now. I had major surgery to remove a tumour in my neck. Years later when I was having some health issues more recently and waiting on results, this album dropped and the lyrics in this song was exactly what I was feeling. I would listen to this album as I went to sleep. Thank you for making me not feel alone with my worries. Color Decay is a masterpiece!
Wow, what a powerful song. I can so relate. 10 years ago I lost my dad to suicide, and as most christians judged him and condemned him to hell, I just thought I loved him so much that I wanted to be beside him wherever he was. I tried 3 times to end my life and I remember in that season drinking some very toxic oil reading the warning sign of cancer. I thought I drink this often enough I'll get cancer and that way I still have a chance to repent before my heart stops beating. Crazy to think where I was then.
I’ve listened to this band since the beginning. I was 23 at this time. Since the first album they released that I bought from my small neighborhood Christian bookstore right outside of Dayton Ohio. I’ve never stopped and won’t ever stop loving Prada. Ima old head these days, and still can’t wait for them to write another one. This song Is my favorite yet. 17 years later, I didn’t think TDWP would still be outdoing perfect. 🔥🔥🔥
I’ve been listening to this a lot last month. I lost my best friend in 2018 to suicide and I had a cancer scare in my throat two weeks ago and this song hit different as well as the whole album. I’ve never felt so attached to a song 💔❤
This is easily one of my fav albums of the year. Have always known of TDWP but haven’t really got into them. Loved “Still Fly” cover from 11-12 years back but besides that, just didn’t click. This is gold though
This album is just flawless from start to finish. If they decided to make a music video for every track, I wouldn't be mad. And if this is the last video for the album, I wouldn't be mad. This is just perfect in every way, shape, and form. Thanks Prada.
I love how TDWP has evolve with their music, whether it's a drastic change from what I have known them especially the albums Plagues and Dear Love, to this mature and easy to listen songs since every band in their era or newer bands like to push super heavy stuff.
dang, them doing a song like this is epic! They're high energy as always and even a song like this is just brilliant! I just typed in "new rock 2023" and this is in the playlist. Had no idea they were doing stuff like this. I was a huge fan of their early days, but I'm so glad to see them in the ranks these days!!!

This song goes out to my friend Ryan who died in 2009 by a drunk driver. He was listening to TDWP on his way home when he was hit by a Hummer going 95 MPH. RIP Ryan you are missed.

This song has helped me realize some things. I also deeply relate to this song. Recently in my life I had some health concerns come up and as dark as these thoughts are, I honestly was hoping it was cancer, so then I'd have some sort of answer to blame all the ways I've been feeling recently. It wasn't cancer thankfully. But I'm still left with questions. But I guess what I'm saying is that this song helped me realize how dark it truly was to have those kinds of thoughts about myself cause that's what this song is about. Thanks TDWP for your music
My favorite album from the last year. It's really deep and emotional, even more than I was expecting. Amazing work from TDWP in all possible ways. Thank you for this masterpiece!
One of my favorite tracks of the album, I remember listening to it the first time and I was just in awe, and I replay it constantly to this day. Love it.
New fan here, absolutely love this song and the entire color decay album. Can't believe I had never heard of TDWP until recently but am so happy to have found you guys 🖤
Also, I hope these guys release studio vlogs for this record. As a musician myself, studio vlogs are so appreciated because it gives outsiders a way to *really* immerse themselves in the artists creative process, and relate on a far more personal level. Making a record like this is not easy. Its exhausting.
For those who suffer from depression, anxiety, and especially obsessive compulsive disorder; it hits really bad when we hear about that someone we admired, loved or cared, commited suicide because of a mental disorder. We feel kind of relieved when we know that this kind of persons died because of other reasons, such as cancer.
I love that you made a music video for this incredible track (my #2, just after Noise) despite the trend of releasing videos only before album release of THE album (of the year). The song really deserved it and I loved every second of it.
color decay is simply such a masterpiece. a rollercoaster of feelings. i love it, especially this song. can't wait for the music video and i hope these guys will find their way to germany soon! 😊❤

I appreciate how they've pushed Jeremy to the front even MORE. His vocals were killer on this album like always but, still
I think we owe a lot to their lack of ego for what Prada has become.
Reminded me of Serj/Daron duo on later SOAD album which sounds so great to me.

I agree 10000%. Just phenomenal.
such a deep track also requires a deep music video D:, personally i don't like the music videos where the band is just playing the song

Masterpiece
Que buenos gustos!
You know I've been with this band for a long time. I've had a lot of spiritual moments listening to them. They're a phenomenal band.
Found this while listening to the song “Dupe- Shum Zero” 👍👍👍
COLOR DECAY is TDWP's best work yet! My personal AOTY! Can't wait to see them live!
Thanks for the VIDEO!
I love metal, but this album is honestly my fave album from these guys, despite song like these that aren't considered 'Heavy'.
Their sound has evolved so much. I'll always love it.
Never thought I’d rediscover my love for TDWP tbh
I love that you made a music video for this incredible track (my #2, just after Noise) despite the trend of releasing videos only before album release of THE album (of the year). The song really deserved it and I loved every second of it.
color decay is simply such a masterpiece. a rollercoaster of feelings. i love it, especially this song. can't wait for the music video and i hope these guys will find their way to germany soon! 😊❤
Color Decay will go down in history I swear
