Darn you Richard & Helen, keep putting temptation in our way :-)). We are new to cruising, and were addicted after our first cruise in Feb last year...so much so, we now have 8 booked up...that does take us through to 2022 though! So far, we have sailed/are sailing with Celebrity, Azamara, Seabourn & QM2, and I wasn't too sure about Princess...but the ship looks lovely, and the mini suite looks good, although wish they'd do away with a shower curtain. I will be interested to read others thoughts on Princess, and what they like/don't like....could be another one added to the cruise line list, which is getting ridiculously long, largely thanks to you two, and your amazing vlogs!

Glad to see you review this room. I only discovered these on Regal last year, and thought the addition of the curtains mid-room was fantastic for making the room feel bigger than it actually was - quite a clever way of making it feel like a 2-roomed suite (albeit one would have no natural daylight...)

This reminds me of the Disney Deluxe Balcony cabin, although slightly larger and some better appointments than Disney. But Disney does have a separate shower and toilet area (a real marriage saver). I may have to look at the Balcony Suite if cruise on this ship - you know, for marital harmony ;-) Another great video and the "keeping your Medallions discreet" was priceless.

Excellent review. We’re booked on the Enchanted Princess for early next year so will be very interested in what you have to say. Generally agree that the upgrade to a mini suite is well worth it...especially the larger bathroom, shower curtain notwithstanding. Also agree that the small balcony is very disappointing. On the older Princess ships always book on Caribe deck where the balconies have ample room for four chairs. Glad to see some refinements such as more USB ports and curtain between the sleeping / sitting areas. Cheers.

Great video. We are sailing the Sky November 30, after sailing Regal, Royal and Crown last year. We’re spoiled to a mini suite, even after having a full suite on the Crown last month. Don’t get me wrong, the Suite was great, but we’re very comfy in a mini suite and the service is amazing no matter what cabin type. Thanks for “keeping medallions discreet”. Great video. We find the beds on all Princess ships to be very comfy and we take lots of naps so the mattresses get plenty of use. We always book a mini-suite because my husband likes to lay on the couch and watch his own TV. So, thanks for this video. We are taking the Sky on a transatlantic cruise in April. Great video! This is a nice upgrade from a standard balcony cabin. We upgraded because the standard balcony cabin has no sofa. And the std balcony cabin has no inside seating other than the desk chair. An AC outlet at the nightstand would be nice, in case of laptop use in bed, etc.

Love the dramatic intro. Thx for the vlog, great job as always. Love Princess. Sorry do not understand the “keeping medallions discreet” comment. Yes we love the Princess beds, so comfy, I really hate hard beds and they are not good for one’s back. Do all mini suites have that bath tub, enough to put me off a mini suite having to get in there. Much rather have a separate shower stall. I would be afraid of booking an inaugural cruise, sometimes called a shakedown cruise, as they need to iron out procedures and equipment. Plus new staff need to get into a routine. Much to go wrong.

@@visitwithus Truly, enjoy Mini suites on transatlantic cruises where we spend time in the cabin reading enjoying the tiny balcony on Royal class ships. Balconies on older ships are larger but, alas, most are completely uncovered from above. We switch to interior or balcony cabins for 10 days or less as we tend to spend less time in the cabin. Really like mini suites, however, we do go back in order to get two cruises for the price of one Mini Suite. Looking forward to cruising again. Booked transatlantic on Sky Princess eastbound in 2022. No US socket near the bed? I have a CPAP machine & this makes for problems. I really hate extension cords! The Club Class Minisuite on the Star Princess(which we did our Hawaiian trip recently)had a larger balcony & sockets right near the bed. Might cancel & go back to Oceania Riviera. The cabin there is nearly the same size with sockets next to the bed & separate shower & tub. I won't even go into detail about "O's" food quality! Pricewise our 2019 14 day trip on "O" was about $1200 more & this comes with ALL the restaurants as complimentary(except Le Reserve, which paired Wine with the tasting courses) & the soft drinks & spring water complimentary as well.

I think a smaller more manageable ship (aka Azamara, Seabourn, etc.) is a better fit for me. My husband and I are in our late 50s , early 60s, respectively, normally not many kids on Princess, although I noticed on our last cruise, way back in 2019 ( pre lockdown, but in Australia, still in lockdown atm😳) there was more. I think Princess are trying to get more kids on board , instead of families going to Carnival, P and O and Royal Caribbean. We have been on 11 cruises with Princess, through Asia and the Middle East as well as NZ and the South Pacific, and have found that maybe 30 kids tops, that I have seen, definitely not too many at all. Princess doesn’t have all the bells and whistles for the younger set, so I would say main ages are late 40s through to 80s . Most kids are in bed at a decent hour and you don’t get the rowdy, uni/ student demographic, so all in all a great cruise for our age group. good luck 💗🇦🇺

Truly awful class of ships. Have been on Majestic in a full suite and they are not a patch on the suites on the Grand Class or even the old Sun class ships. The balconys are like this one which once they load it up with the bulky wood furniture make it virtually unusable. Back to the old ones for me in the future with their wonderful wrap around promenade deck and no line dancing etc in the atrium. Absolutely love your videos!

"The queen beds on Princess are near legendary for their comfort"......Hang on what ????? Sorry but no, queen beds on Princess are near legendary for being as hard as a pool table, to the point that you can at booking request a foam topper to go on the medieval torture device they call a bed, then of course after a couple of years of use it performs it's party piece, overnight it goes from rock hard to collapsing, except where the join is down the middle, that stays rock hard. I will say the bed we had on the Regal was comfortable, which really did make the topper we bought at Walmart (Princess cruise tradition, 15 cruises with them and counting) redundant. The bed aside, yes, we love the mini suites on the Regal/Royal/Sky, well worth the extra money.

LOL! I love your comments Dave, and yes they're on the 'firm side' but I suppose it's down to personal taste. We've experienced firmer beds, believe it or not! :D

I hate bathtubs as they are dangerous at sea. Imagine stepping onto a slippery, moving, curved surface.
    YIKES.

Good point! Top tip: Only bathe when the sea is calm or when ship is in port. :D

Good point and I hate shower curtains but on the other hand, wardrobe space is Fantastic and I like being able to get dressed just outside the bathroom. It’s really annoying having sliding doors on wardrobes so close to the bed on other ships.

I should say it’s a huge step down from your usual haunts. I can’t get away from being reminded that it’s part of the Carnival family. Charging more for place to sit in your cabin, clingy shower curtains and a balcony too small for the reclining chair, all make me wonder what’s so great about Princess.

We've not experienced Royal, so I couldn't tell you from experience I'm afraid. Thanks for watching. I hope you've subscribed as we've got lots of new videos coming in 2021. :)

I don’t understand why they need to drag the whole stateroom down by using those sleazy shower curtains. It just makes my skin crawl when they touch me, and reminds me of back in the day when I was young and poor and vacationed in cheesy cheap motels. Having lived for the past 30 years in Australia where the walk-in, glass-doored shower seems to be the universal standard, I struggle with the idea of paying top dollar for this unpleasant, and even dangerous setup.

Thankfully they have changed this for the Sun Princess, so hopefully going forward there will be no more shower curtains on new Princess ships.

Wow - sorry for your discomfort. But I have been on 4 cruises with Princess and I have Degenerative Disc Disease in my spine and have had no trouble sleeping on their beds. I cannot be on a hard bed as that would put me into immense pain and never ever has that happened sleeping on one of their what, is for me, a very comfy bed. But hey at least they work with you and supply you with a bed topper to make your experience better.
