Something to bare in mind, if you spend a skill point WITHOUT clicking either Weapon set 1 or 2, you will not be able to split off. Thank you for the video very helpfull!
Great video! Thank you so much for this. I’m running Sorc build too, and am still learning the ropes. Currently using Wall Of Flame and Spark, but I need to tighten up my build specs. This is my first ARPG, and am already loving it. Cheers mate
another thing to bare in mind, if you use just one weapon and dont care about secondary set, dont use this system, just use your normal passive skills.
Hi! Have you figured out if one could alter the main path of attribute nodes to give mostly one attribute on one tree and then mostly another on the second tree?
No, you can not. As I stated in the video, the next connection after a split point must be the same type of split point. So if you choose a random stat node in the middle and change it to weapon 1 or weapon 2 then it would invalidate the entire rest of your chain after that node unless you were able to set every single node beyond the first one as the same weapon split, but most likely you will not have anywhere near enough points to do so. The primary use of these points are to make small branches off of your main tree to pick up nodes that would be useful to a specific spell group or weapon for when you swap weapons.
@@RagingRashaka thanks for your response. I wish they incorporated my reasoning, attributes are the main limiting factor between using different weapons.
Ah the fact that they cost normal skill points wasnt clear to my. I was wondering why i couldnt spend my last two weapon set points :D They should have the skillpoints blink in red to make that more clear I think.
This is still confusing beceause It says I have 9 available to spend in set 1 and it won't let me spend it. But if I swap to weapon set 2, it allows me to spend some.
Hey guys if you'd like to see some more videos like this feel free to leave a comment on what you'd like to know more about in the game and I'll see what I can do.
Is there a way to highlight where you spent these skill points if you spent them in main? I'm assuming no and its going to be a headache to respec to get them all back if you didnt split spend them
These skill points are basically taking a main skill point and splitting them into two. So these are not special skill points that you spent somewhere else. Any skill point can be split, the number of times is based on the number in parentheses next to the weapon at the top right of the skill screen. If the weapon has matching numbers, in the case on my video it is at 4(4) that means I have not split any skill points at all. If you have split a skill point somewhere, then the node will be either the orange color for weapon 1 or green for weapon 2. Does that help answer your question?
@@RagingRashaka so essentially anytime I have or make available 16 points I can split spend them is what you're trying to say I think. That's really good thanks.
@@RH-nl2wg I haven't found it yet, but there is also a place in the skill panel somewhere that you are supposed to be able to automate weapon swapping depending on which skill you use.
That is correct, but you are probably losing out by only using one weapon. If you are applying any debuffs or dropping anything on the ground like totems all of these things can benefit from a second weapon of any type that you switch to long enough to apply the debuff or drop the totem.
@RagingRashaka ah ok, well I'm still in act 1 with my mercenary at the moment, so crossbow is life. Haven't considered another weapon. Although I do have a shield on my back so I guess that counts, but I don't actively use it
You're a hero. Great explanation of the only frustrating mechanic I've seen so far.

Answered everything I was looking to know about this mechanic and then some. Much appreciated!
Thank you for the video. I couldn't find anywhere that explained it and it was driving me crazy. It makes sense now.
I’ve been so confused trying to research this, cheers mate.
Finally!!! Someone who knows. Instant follow

Ya but my problem is how do you access the little menu on the top right where you switch weapons on console there is literally no button to do it.
this was helpful, thanks
Thank you
