I'm little 5'3 and it worked putting my feet on the wheels for extra support in pulling. Thank you! I'm new at this. I have 7 days on the road driving and I couldn't pull it out b4. I thought I needed to start doing push ups lol

Omg thank you for this video!! I have been struggling with pulling my fifth wheel because of my short arms and I was tired of getting my whole body under the truck!! I finally bought this pin puller and tried using it last night but couldn't figure out how to to get it to work. Thanks I will try this method today!!

Leave to Freightliner to make it harder than it has to be. Most trucks you just pull the pin out straight until it locks. None of this pull up and to the left bsuiness. Great video and explanation we shall see if it is that easy tonite, never tried iwth a pull bar I just used hands which is probably not a good idea since you have to be underneath the trailer to reach it.
Thank you! I’ve been driving 4 years and have had no clue how to pull that style fifth wheel release! I’ve always had to take jobs with the fifth wheel release button in the cab. I’m gonna try your method if I ever get in that situation ever again. I’m surprised no one was ever able to teach me this before now. That’s why it’s better when women drivers teach other women. The men don’t know because they can do it with no problem.

This is one of the best videos ever created. My old company had trucks with king pin release buttons. My new company doesn't have that feature on their trucks. So since I started using a puller tool, I've been struggling to get that right pull. But this video explains it all. 💪🏾💯🤙🏾

Tip..when you get ready to pull the handle back up to release a little pressure on the jaws,set brakes, it will release!!

This is called a double locking fifth wheel. Added safety feature.
I dropped a trailer because of this safety feature not knowing that when I did a tug test and witness the release arm was in a locked position it still wasn’t locked god saved me that day.

Every now and then I spray some wd40 along and behind the release bar so it will release after the first tug.
