- "Kiss of Death" loosely remade as a 1958 western. It's a pretty tepid experience, especially if compared to the 1947 original. Hugh O'Brian is good in the lead, a man torn between betraying his cohorts and saving himself and his family. The best acting is from Steve McNally as the sympathetic marshal. But the real fun comes from Robert Evans and his over-the-top New York-accented western bad man (the "Tommy Udo" part). Here are 3 of the best moments
I was 17yrs old when i first see this movie, im now 74 still enjoyed it, thanks.....
Very underrated movie. Unofficial remake of Kiss of Death transposed to the west. Nice to see in scope.
Shot in the back while sitting in a chair . No damage to the chair , amazing
That's Hollywood for ya !! 😂
I like this movie. It has a great revenge factor.
Indubitably ! It's all about revenge. Robert Evans was a better producer & studio head (Paramount) than actor. I'm surprised he never choked on all the scenery he was always chewing. But he was certainly effective as an unhinged psychopath. His sudden killing of the elderly lady with the bow & effective was a real shocker (but not as shocking as Tommy Udo's pushing the elderly lady in the wheelchair down the stars in the 1947 classic noir this movie is based on : "Kiss of Death").
Great Western!
Thank you! Any chance you could upload the whole movie? I've wanted to rewatch it for years.
Did he really burn that nice house?
Yep. Seems like he had a streak of pyromania in addition to being a psychopathic killer who had no remorse.
