Mahler: Symphony no. 3, II Tempo di Menuetto, Sehr Mässig (arr. Britten)
Просмотров 4,4 тыс.11 лет назад
Mahler - Britten: What the Wild Flowers tell me (1893-96, arr.1941) 2nd movement from Symphony No.3, version for reduced orchestra by Benjamin Britten Britten made this adaptation in 1941, at the suggestion of his publisher Erwin Stein. At that time, Mahler's symphonies were not the staple concert-fare that they are today, and Britten's arrangement was an attempt to bring this composer, for who...

From Hell To Texas - the Chase Scene
Просмотров 272 тыс.13 лет назад
Exciting chase scene from rarely seen 1958 western. Don Murray and J.C. Flippen have to outrun two bad men and a band of Indians. With Dennis Hopper, Diane Varsi, Chill Wills, R.G. Armstrong, directed by Henry Hathaway. Magnificent locations in the Alabama Hills of California.
Svengali (1954) - Donald Wolfit, Hildegarde Neff, Terence Morgan
Просмотров 12 тыс.13 лет назад
Hugely disappointing rendition of Svengali. Last-minute replacement Donald Wolfit doesn't have nearly enough to do in this version that short-changes his character in favor of the frustrated romance between Trilby and Billy Bagot (Terence Morgan). Svengali's domination and transformation of Trilby only occupies about 25 minutes and it's quite a letdown. Knef (billed here as Neff) is seriously m...
Alan Bates in "A Day in the Death of Joe Egg"
Просмотров 12 тыс.13 лет назад
Astonishing performances from Alan Bates and Janet Suzman make this intense problem-drama a must-see. Based on Peter Nichol's play, directed by Peter Medak, with Peter Bowles, Sheila Gish and Joan Hickson. A married couple have learned to cope with their daughter's severe disability using fantasy and dark humor, but at what cost? A probing, often blunt and uncomfortable film to watch. In this s...

The Fiend Who Walked The West - scene compilation
Просмотров 5 тыс.13 лет назад
"Kiss of Death" loosely remade as a 1958 western. It's a pretty tepid experience, especially if compared to the 1947 original. Hugh O'Brian is good in the lead, a man torn between betraying his cohorts and saving himself and his family. The best acting is from Steve McNally as the sympathetic marshal. But the real fun comes from Robert Evans and his over-the-top New York-accented western bad ma...

RIP Julia he is missed
I loved how the youngest daughter, helped him in the end and proved herself more gangboss than her two older sisters and their delusional 'hard man' husbands
Great scenery and action chase scene for Western fans.
Talent, charisma, great looks, Raul Julia is a much missed Actor for those who worked with him on the Adams Family films and on stage, and by his old and new fans. you should all see the cast of the Adams family films when they talk about him, they have never said anything mean about the man
If only Jenny spoke French!
Shouldn’t this be on dvd?
2:26 listen to that FART!!!
Jay Flippen was a stalwart character actor in many old Westerns: rather like John McIntyre his contemporary. From Hell to Texas comes close to being a truly great Western.
Can anyone watch this currently? When I try, it goes right to the end.
These are not the Mannheim lyrics Julia sang in New York.
It’s “cannon.” These are Blitzstein’s words in translation. He did not think Americans could handle the original.
where is in the stream today?
best film. where , what stream?
What a sexty guy Raul was!
I played Jenny in a community theatre production. The man who played MacHeath was stunning and engaged. But when we were on stage together, he was no longer engaged. He was MINE :-)
Sembra the Rocky horror picture show

Jason Patric is an exquisite actor.

WHAT that is German in Original Version ...
A masterpiece of British cinema.
vroom vroom car
Great stunts and stunt men!
Callistratus.
This is my favorite version of the song. I like how it begins abhorring violence and then gradually shifts to being thrilled by violence. It's disturbing to be pulled along in this direction, and so aesthetically pleasing. In contrast, the jazz versions seem to be bland celebrations of criminality from start to finish, for and by violence groupies and spectators.
Listen to Lotte Lenya you'll change your mind
@@PrinceOberon87 Hmm.
Wow! Couldn't imagine Roger Daltrey in a role like this. Incredible!
This movie is the reason I wanted Jason Patric to have a much better career than the one he got.
@ribonucleic He never chased fame. He chased his art, his passion. I have seen nearly every film/project he has done. His performances are exquisite. Not every actor wants does it for fame. He is a beautiful example of that.
Great book, great movie
I know im 20 odd years late, but what a performance by the late, great Richard Harris. The man never lost his talent over the years .
Absolutely one of my favorite movies ..Set in my hometown
Pretty sure this is the CANNON Song, not the CANON Song. They're singing about war, not about canonisation. In other news, Raul Julia was in a MUCH BETTER adaptation of Threepenny Opera than this, not filmed alas, but you can get the soundtrack album.

The 1976 recording it not a 'soundtrack' (those are for movies) it's an original cast recording of that production and I agree it's excellent.
YEAH !? 🎉

Is there a pineapple
Can you put the whole movie on youtube.
The talent in this movie is fantastic. Roger Daltrey is excellent
I just finished the book this morning at work and loved it. I knew there was a movie made but wasn't sure how they could pull it off. Most of Jim Thompsons books (that I've read) are written in the first person with pages of inner monologue. But going by this clip and a lot of the comments on here, I'll definitely give it a go.
I Love watching these great western classic move bring back memories
Nooo! I’m sick urgh 😮💨😮💨
Proto-Gomez Addams.
When does he go "LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE REIGN O'ER MEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
No way is that Reece Noi!!
This movie brought the code down on all of Hollywood, it showed how he becomes a quack doctor and all kinds of medical abnormalities!! But it was another great Warren William movie!! He took care of the White Cllar Crime at Warner Bros in those years! (1930s)
👍💕
Roger is the coolest guy on the planet!
