  • A film-noir-style flashback leads back to the main narrative in The Walking Hills. About as close to a "Film Noir Western" as you can get, with ruthless, desperate characters, an unforgiving setting and an overall feeling of doom. Randolph Scott heads great cast: Ella Raines, Arthur Kennedy, John Ireland, Josh White. Directed by John Sturges

The narration style reminds me so much of Bill Holden in Sunset Boulevvard. It sounds a great movie indeed, very unusual for a western, and one of a few Randolph Scott movies that is really hard to find.

I saw this fine movie on TCM a long time ago, a really fine film. Ella Raines is a wonderful actor that left films much to early in a life to marry WW II fighter joc Robbin Olds.
Anyone know of where this movie might be purchased??

forget his name, the narrator, but he was in a TV series with Spring Boyington and James Dunn, a comedy, a very B movie a\ctor usually played a villain
