  • This lot of tools came in with the box already modified to hold the mixing drill with whisk attached.
This is the normal bunch of misfits, all that was missing was the milwaukee grinder.
Makita drill DHP482 how to change the brushes.
Dewalt drill DCD796 stuck on hammer mode.
Dewalt nail gun DCN692 clicking but not firing.
Alfra mixing drill won't switch on.

This is the first 100% fixer I've seen you have. It was rewarding to watch so I can only imagine how it is to accomplish something like that. Must be a great phone call to make especially how cheap the final bill is. No expensive parts used, just expertise.

Nice fixes again! I'm still amazed though how heaps of your repairs come in without any description on what's wrong with them. Ofcourse some of them are obvious, but the ones like that Dewalt SDS drill where it's losing power over time are a lot harder to diagnose with just a quick test and not knowing why the customer sent it in.

Great video brother. Love the fact you show the the part costs so we can guage the price difference between fixing and replacing. Just curious how the business side of it works as well. Do you charge by the fix or is there a flat rate? Wouldn't mind seeing some tools you would deem a no-fix based on cost. Cheers

Hey Dean, I love the videos! Question - Has the quality of Makita gone downhill since they started producing them in China? To the point that it puts them on par with every other major brand, such as DeWalt, Milwaukee, etc.

    • @deandohertygreaser
      @deandohertygreaser  3 месяца назад +2

To an extent, yes. they are never going to last as long at they use to. But unlike a lot of other brands, makita sell a lot of parts seperatly, so they can be maintained and kept going for years if you want to repair them.

I am on the market for a cordless drill, and I was about to get a Milwaukee M18 Fuel, but thank God I found your channel and watched few of your videos about talking that brand. I am now considering Makita or Dewalt but leaning towards the Makit 40V. Can I ask can you if you can recommend a better brand, because now I will get the drill but in the future I would probably get more tools and I want them to be on the same platform.

    Tools fixed in this video:
1:22 Makita DHP482 drill | Fault: Problem with starting
4:47 DeWalt DCH253 SDS Drill | Fault: Motor losing power (according to owner)
17:40 DeWalt DCN692 (Type 2) nailer | Fault: Not firing
30:16 DeWalt DCD1196 Drill | Fault: Stuck in hammer mode
52:25 Alfra EHR23/2 (possibly) concrete mixer
Cheers to Dean for telling model number, rather than me doing some CSI investigations.

Hi Dean ,fantastic jobs ! I am following you whenever I have to sharpen my attention when occasionally I repair my tools . I have a GBH 4 DFE | 0 611 236 703 and somehow after ordering parts for servicing the hammer ,watching your video more than 5-6 times I finally succed to put all together but unfortunately did not work the hammer mode , open again and find out that the Pos 830 - Aandrijflager 1 615 819 022 the outer ring of the bearing was broken. In The Netherlands and probably all over is no more in stock ; And now my question : is it possible to have that part and in case yes , would you like to sell it to me ? The point is I have spent more than 100 euro on parts and now I have to fix the problem ,otherwise is a waste of time and money . Anyway , either cases I am your fan in repairing tools section !
