    I’ve found the F6F to be one of the more enjoyable fighters to play. Turns well enough to be inside BF109s, and FW190s a good amount of time but is also capable of BnZ. With plenty of rounds to go around it’s been a blast to play. Can also perform ground strike roles if the skies are covered well enough. Oh and it’s tough as hell.

    Excellent work! I knew you'd love this thing, its a great bird when you set it up and its sad to see so many get thrown away in Groundpounding

      The F6F is a joy to fly - unless you don't know it's limits. I really enjoyed that sub request, thanks!

    I love the naval fighters of WW2, and prefer them over the P-51 and P-47.
    My dream is to fly an F8F, and feel the power of that engine. Same engine as the P-47 and Corsair, but in a smaller plane.
    Must've been quite an experience for first time pilots in WW2.

    alright you want a request? how about the fighterfly fr mk v/mk i? plays similar to a hellcat, however you trade a bit of your speed for turn and stopping power. would recommend turning an immelmann and climbing with your fighters though. again, if you like the cannoncane, i think you might like this also; almost everyone underestimates you.
    edit: not a vid request but try the beaufighter vi a little, support fighter with an above average climb rate (220 IAS) and a mean punch. faster than 50% of the fighters (and turns with non-japanese twin engine things) at its br at low-mid alt, essentially a cannoncane but chonkier and faster.

      More requests are always welcome! You mean the Firefly F Mk I, right? The Beaufighter is also a nice plane. I put it on the list of requests!

      @@wickedwilliwonka either firefly will do, though the mk v is for "advanced' firefly pilots since it trades some turn for speed. you'll still shred everyone who turns with you, just remember to pop the flaps!

    I've hit 470 miles an hour inf the f6f in a dive, and it still had enough pep to pull around 7g-8g's. although I wouldn't recommend going above 470 since my wings were pretty wobbly at that point

  • @Arkhmar
    @Arkhmar 2 года назад +5

    nice one.
    but i would recommend you to convert your gun range to 300-400 though.
    that way, your gun will be more effective engaging your enemies.
    you won't be engaging anyone further than that anyway.

    • @wickedwilliwonka
      @wickedwilliwonka  2 года назад

      I'm already using 400m for some time now, not sure if it's just a typo in the video. But yeah, already thinking about going down to 300m.

      I use 600m convergence for wing mounted .50 cals for sure

    hey quick question? does auto engine controls utilize supercharger gears?

  • @tahu033
    @tahu033 2 года назад +1

    What would you keybind your turbocharger gear shift if you have one?

    • @wickedwilliwonka
      @wickedwilliwonka  2 года назад +1

      I have the supercharger set to the numpad enter key. You should leave the turbocharger untouched as it usually messes up the engine (such as manually setting prop pitch in the 109s). It is a much more complicated process if you want to control the turbocharger manually (you have to keep a close eye to correct mixture settings and apply throttle slowly, otherwise you kill your engine). Here's some more info about it: forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/327002-turbocharger-controls/ (see Sshadow2015's post)
      In essence, leave the turbocharger untouched as it is not worth fumbling around with it.

    I was disappointed by WTs version of this plane. I was expecting it to live up to its historical reputation as a tight turning and fast diving and could out climb a zero . This one is a turd

    • @wickedwilliwonka
      @wickedwilliwonka  9 месяцев назад

      The historical counterpart couldn't outturn a Zero, but as the Hellcat was a buffed up Wildcat it had much more power than the Zero. You shouldn't still, however, put it into a steep climb close to a Zero but rather use speed to create a gap and climb away at a shallow angle. It's a classic boom-and-zoomer.

    Never been in a game where ze germans were below the americans....thats why i hated this plane.

    • @wickedwilliwonka
      @wickedwilliwonka  9 месяцев назад +1

      This match took a little luck to unfold as successful as it did. Gaijin changed a lot throughout the years (esp. the matchmaker), so classic oldschool matches like US vs. Germany are very rare nowadays. It's mixed nations mostly, and with a decent team you can be quite successful with US planes (or not).

  • @koc988
    @koc988 2 года назад +1

    Imagine a plane which has the sole purpose of being useless if you want to use it like the average fighter it claims to be. Support player? why should an aircraft be completely reserved to scrapping the bottom of the barrel or have to use far better tactics far better know how and far better teamwork to be competitive. Air RB suffers.

    • @wickedwilliwonka
      @wickedwilliwonka  2 года назад

      I wouldn't say that ARB suffers in general, but there are definately certain BRs and nations that suffer more than others. The us BR range between roughly 3.0 - 4.0 definately belongs to that.
