      For me it's the issue of performance optimization. In my eyes it has worse graphic then ACC but demands way higher performance of your PC. The hypercars has to high detail graphics/polygons so they issue fps drops for many players. For me the most important is to have the possibility to have solid fps flow to play a sim racing game. I have 80+ fps in ACC with 2k/epic and 25-60 fps in LMU with 2k/low. That's what makes me not playing the game! If they optimize the game I'm in.

    It's almost as if LMU doesn't simulate the tilting of the car during weight transfer. That at least would explain why lower camber is better and the way the tyres heat up in corners. This might also explain why so many people say they don't feel the weight of the car.

      Tried the Gt3 yesterday, and as far as I can say I felt the weight transfer under braking and accelerating. Front axle felt quite heavier under braking and lighter when accelerating. I agree that the grip level or grip loss isn’t as sharp and as noticeable as in other sims, it’s more subtile, what sounds more reasonable imo.

    You make it sound a bit like a subscription is required to participate in league racing. For clarification: Both sub tiers give access to the official online championships, but are not needed to join private hosted leagues or hosting your own. And DLC is also only limited in terms of tracks, because there is a free GT3 and 2024 hypercar, but that is maybe more of a demo than a long term solution for joining leagues of course.

    • @SimracingPopometer
      @SimracingPopometer  17 часов назад +3

      I don't think thats correct. The ratio does not auto adjust, hence you can carry too much weight around, as the crucial bit you need to watch for stint allowance is the VE. Without adjusting the ratio manually, I would have had 15-20l too much in the tank yesterday. It did not calculate anything, nor was the ratio set correctly. I would have carried excess weight around for the entire race, had I not adjusted myself. As far as I can tell, there is no fuel/VE calculator in the menu.
      At a ratio of 1 it would give me, say, 50l for 100% VE, however I only needed 40L. If there's anything else I missed, then this is because of bad UI. And if I, as a seasoned sim racer, miss it, its bad and needs fixing, because casuals will not pull through something like that. Don't confuse people with simple stuff, don't add artificial hurdles to the game experience. You have no idea at how little adversity people turn away.

    On acc 1.8 patch, I was absolutely addicted to daily races. I would do 4+ races a day. Since 1.9, I lost the feel with the tyres, and the super intrusive tc that forced super low tc settings, just made the problem so much worse for me. The nords is my favourite track of all time, and the ground collisions on top of the issues I had with the tyres and tc, just completely turned me away from the game that I loved so much.
    I gave lmu a try, now with the new gt3's and it's the first time I got to feel that same love for daily races since 1.8 acc. I am scared with the developer's financial situation, and that it might just be a flash in the pan, but I will for sure enjoy it while it lasts.
    I still have a lot of hope for ac evo, i just hope the tyres will be more predictable, tc working better, and better ground interactions (aero and ground collisions) lmu seems to have really good ground interactions to me.

    4:20 I hear that argument quite often, but I completely disagree with it. We used to have games with hundreds of cars and many, many tracks for $40, and now they want to charge us double that + monthly subscription for a tiny fraction of the content. I know that it's mostly because of licenses, but if we stop giving them money, licensors will have to lower their fees. It's a vicious cycle where they will raise prices until the breaking point. Release full game with ALL content for 60-80$ and you can charge me max 8$ for servers and online leagues or otherwise I'm not interested. They keep losing customers (players) by this stupid pricing model and to compensate they keep raising prices for the remaining player base (and I'm not talking only about the LMU).

Way too often I come across people still learning to drive a hypercar and learning the track in 90min silver rated online races.
      If you're serious about the hobby you won't be moaning about spending $20 for DLC content or $6p/m for online championship mode that is going to give you hours upon hours of fun. Just to give some perspective a cinema ticket is $20, for 2h of fun you'll never get back. A cup of coffee is $5, it lasts 10min.

    • @ErwinLiszkowicz
      @ErwinLiszkowicz 16 часов назад +2

      I couldn't agree less. Rotation on throttle is way, way, way more important in any car on LMU over what the technique is like on iRacing and that's mainly a byproduct of a tire that is way more playful and significantly less punishing around the limit. On iRacing you do 80% of the turning on the brakes and then 20% at best on throttle. On LMU you can split it differently depending on the setup philosophy and car in question + very often there's some coasting phase involved.

    • @iStingRey
      @iStingRey 15 часов назад

      @ the difference is, in Iracing you can push the throttle fast to like 65-70% and the car gets a kick that helps you rotate out of the exit. If you do this in lmu you just go straight. I do actually like that you have to be more careful on throttle and just wanted to point out the differences. I like both tbh.

      1000% agree.
      I said this in another video comment section. I tried to induce oversteer in the mclaren and it was way to difficult. Trying to find the limits is a real thing, the limits help to know how to drive the car. If i can't force a limit then it's not real.
      To me that's not realistic. It just doesn't feel realistic.
      I tried to like it.

    • @ErwinLiszkowicz
      @ErwinLiszkowicz 15 часов назад +1

      @@iStingRey iRacing tire sidewall is made of granite, which is not realistic at all. The way you can flick it there is completely unrealistic (And I say that as someone who has driven a couple of pricey race cars IRL). On LMU you can generate a lot more rotation, but you need to load up the sidewall gradually in the beginning and only then you can properly slam the throttle. But if you're getting less rotation from throttle on LMU than on iRacing, you're simply doing something wrong (no offence).

    • @slatanek
      @slatanek 2 часа назад

  • @donaldfenner6891
    @donaldfenner6891 3 часа назад

    Thank you for a detailed review. Personally, I don't like the direction simracing is going at the moment. People pay hundreds of euros for variations on how the abs and tc engages on a given type of car. Or something similar to it. From the outside, it looks like a very expensive mental m*st*rbation.
    And I don't feel like the consumer should care about how well the seller is doing financially, other than withholding his purchase if they are doing badly. This is not a charity. People get emotionally attached to a brand, a sports team or a developer, when in some cases, in 5 years, all that is left of what they represent is their logo.
    All these "current things" should fade away IMO because there is no substance of any kind behind it. But what we will get, probably, is people spending 100 euro on their fixes and re-fixes until the end of time.

BMW works drivers told me that they are aggressive with initial braking as the abs system will sort it out in an ideal way. Of course as soon as they turn they have to let go a little, but still the system is highly adaptive at high frequency, with smooth and precise intervention to aid, not hinder. People complaining about LMU charging for content despite being in early acess is a load of horse sh1te in my opinion.
    First of all, LMU in early acess is in a WAY better state than games that were fully released, take TDU Solar Crown for example, what use is it launching a game in that disastorous state?
    Secondly ist not like S397 is Rockstar and had loads of cash on the bank and can spend $2 Billion developing a game.
    Thirdly you get to play the game earlier than you otherwise wouldve whilst supporting the devs and helping the game improve. Giving them feedback so when the game properly releases its in the best state it can be.
    I would also like to say that the "early access" title is pretty much meaningless in todays gaming industry, if LMU had an official release last year, in the sub optimal state it was you lot would be even madder.
    Just for you to know how meaningless an "early access" or full release is nowadays, Ill tell you about another game which recently had a full release, MXGP 24. I doubt any of you are familiar with the title, its the official game for MXGP(Motocross' MotoGP) and boy oh boy, LMU when it was released as an early access title was LIGHT YEARS better than that game will ever be.
    Im okay with you still thinking its not okay for them to charge you for an early access game, the again, I wholeheartdly disagree with said opinion for those reasons cited.

      It's not about what quality the game is (even though i highly disagree with you and think the cons outweigh the pros by 3:1 at this current point in development) the subject is the content. Think of it this way: Let's take a Mario game in development from Nintendo (purely hypothetical) and let's say it is intended to have 13 levels, but they only have 7 levels finished while in early access. Now let's say while the players are still in early access and already paid for early access, let's say they release level 8 of the game and they charge $13 to play level 8. If you still don't see the problem here, then you are just a simp for them and you're kissing their boots. DLC is supposed to be expansions of an ALREADY FINISHED GAME! Its not supposed to be charging the consumers for the content thats supposed to be in the finished game in the first place!
      And then they say "well the developers need to pay for groceries and they won't survive if they don't charge for DLC while in early access!" Then how did EVERY OTHER SIM that was ever in early access survive and feed their children and not have a catastrophic disaster when none of them ever charged for DLC while in early access? Hmm? How come? You can't name one other sim that charged for DLC while in early access yet they all turned out just fine.

      The race was fine and it was cool with traffic and trying to close the gap. But I'm not a fan of the way the cars want to be driven. It reminds me of Rennsport too much (who were """""inspired"""" by rf2), and its just a permanent slide basically, either over the front, or the rear, or all 4 tires, but you are never firmly on the ground. It's like the tire washes away underneath you and the car rotates on the spot. It's the perception I get from road tires with a lot of flexible tread on them, but a slick tire imo shouldnt show such behavior.

    Hi Nils, another comment.
    I understand that you and pretty much all other SimRacing Influencers are testing and reviewing the content in their base setup configurations, and that is a totally fair and valid point.
    However, I also feel its a bit of a waste of your skills and knowledge not to also try and setup cars to how you feel they would be more suitable to your dricing, or to laptime or similar. I would love to hear a bit more in depth review of what happens to the tyre and physics when you push it a bit more. There are also very good setups available commercially if you do not have the time to build it all from the ground up.
    I hope you understand that while I am interested in the opinion of the casual players advocate, I would also love to hear a bit more of a leveled-up opinion from you.
    While I have also noticed the balance shift with fuel is minor, on some cars I have experienced a tyre wear based shift towards understeer with the relatively rear balanced setups. But in differing grip levels of the road, the balance was affected more significantly. Maybe track temperature will also play a role.

    • @SimracingPopometer
      @SimracingPopometer  19 часов назад +4

      I did a full 90 minutes with a custom setup yesterday in the corvette. Couldnt have pushed much more as the tire wouldnt give me anything extra. I've also never been a driver that needed "his setup style" on a car. I always adapt to what the car asks and allows.
      You can also watch Michi's stream from the same race. He has much different tire wear balance than myself, wearing the rears much more. I deliberately drove the way i drove to wear all tires equally and not overdrive a certain corner of the car. That comes naturally to me. In ACC this would not be possible. The rear tire wear is significantly more than the front, due to them working harder on the straight, and never getting a break. You can only protect them further, but you cant just use more front tires, as that would mean overdriving them. So throughout the stint you need to adapt the driving a bit to cope with the balance shift. That wasn't needed in the race yesterday, as I could just decide which tire to use more.
      Can't say much about influence of all the other factors. Thats something I won't have the time to dive deep into. It was unique when ACC was new, that I had the time to do that. That's just not the case anymore to be able to spend hours each day to figure out the nuances.
      So until here, and as far as I could test and control it, The car had little progression throughout a stint apart from less grip overall

    The missing stuff and reasoning behind the EA label are not really essential things.
    They could have named it V1.0 already but choose not to.
    When you don't buy it you'll never know, and it's most definitely not going to help them out.
    It's one of the few simracing titles with detailed SIM physics.
    It's a very niche market and Real simracers support simracing.
    Investors are not interested in dead projects, RUclipsrs need new titles to survive, players need titles to enjoy...
    Stop nagging and support it.

      just because it carries the same name, does not mean its somewhat the same in terms of result. I had a chance to drive rF-pro based simulators and they are not like rf1 or 2 at all.
