  • Does the rf2 trajectory continue? Sometimes content is great, sometimes its subpar. Same goes for the LeMans Ultimate DLC: Some parts are great, some are almost useless. Typical Hit and Miss, which makes it hard to recommend it without reservations.

    Simracing is difficult. Learning how to drive fast takes time, dedication and persistence. Assetto Corsa Competizione is one of the best simulations with highly sensitive aerodynamics that want to be respected. Telemetry, such as motec helps with analyzing car behavior and finding major issues in the car setup or driving style. Special sim racing hardware also helps with becoming better, but certainly is not the solution to your problems. Load cell pedals offer better feel. Stronger but most importantly more detailed force feedback of e.g. direct drive wheels offer more immersive sensations. Though I know and I've seen throughout the years, people with entry level hardware perform on top level.

    15:00 - Completely agree. Biggest difficulty in this game is judging when the front tires are locking up under braking and precisely how much pedal you need to release before they can start spinning again.
    Once they lock up, you're just along for the ride. There's nothing telling you that they've locked except for that fact that you're not turning, you see smoke, hear the tires, and see a couple lights have popped up on your screen somewhere.
    The brakes and steering feel significantly vague that you're almost guessing when entering certain corners. Despite that, I love the way the physics handle the chassis, suspension, and the aero.

    The Toyota Ferrari and Peugeot are all Proprietary chassis.
    Lambo, Cadi, BMW Porsche ect... are all based on "LMP2" Chassis, ( Multimatic, Ligier, Oreca, Dallara) Most with XTRAC Sequential Transmissions and the same Hybrid system Bosch, Xtrac, Williams
    This is why they all sound and feel similar to one another... Vs the Toyota Peugeot and Ferrari!
    So people complaining online about the similarities of the feel in the cars to LMP2 need to understand the actual details of this series. They are LMP2 cars with Hybrid systems attached and more power!!!
    These Prototypes are the FIA and IMSA way to be cheap and make a series with OLD engines and Spec Chassis attached to Hybrid systems making cars slower than Previous LMP2 cars and sell the racing to the public and attract Manufacures for Marketing!!
    Let's all educate ourselves before commenting on why some of the cars feel similar 😉

      while this is correct, it still sucks, because it means we're buying a lable, not a new car. however some parts are different that teams can change, but I'm not sure what their impact in terms of behavior would be - either way, right now they feel too much the same toojustify choosing between them and the spec cars drive WAY nicer

    9:30 That is literally what the LMDHs are. The Lambo is based on the Ligier for example. You can't expect miracles in terms of handling as the chassis is built to a cost.
    The LMHs should feel unique in that regard as they have bespoke chassis.

    Personally I like the feel of the GTe's and LMP2's (DD1 base), it is different to RF2 but I guess they have taken advice to hone the physics and ffb, right or wrong. The Elephant in the room is however the in games assists. These (cheats in my mind) can be used in Bronze and Silver online races, the ABS used extensively. How and why on earth can you create an online ranking system then allow an unfair playing field!?

    I know LMU is early access still but the DLC price 12$ for a track + 2 cars imo is a fair price.
    Maybe I am biased cause I am mainly an Iracer, but I don’t see a problem with price at all.

    • @simracingenthusiast4769
      @simracingenthusiast4769 Месяц назад +2

      Its just that releasing paid DLC with (reasonably) stiff prices before the game is even released is a bit unusual. Im not an ACC fan, but all content that got added during ACC early access was free for everyone. Then they started with paid DLC after 1.0 release of the game

    • @Gwayneeee
      @Gwayneeee Месяц назад +4

      @@simracingenthusiast4769 yes I can totally understand that point of view and where it comes from, and to be fair it makes total sense. My take was more or so if it’s a player that is enjoying LMU chances are they’ll play it a lot so the 12$ DLC imo becomes fair. I know there is a lot of variety in simracing but most of us stick to one game long term even if we try others along the line.

    • @simracingenthusiast4769
      @simracingenthusiast4769 Месяц назад +1

      @@Gwayneeee yeah i agree the pricing itself is not too bad, the value someone who really enjoys the game gets is not bad at all. Its usually just a little looked down on to charge customers extra money for content when the developer themselves says the game is not yet finished (by saying its early access)

    Peugeot used to be a great manufacturer in rally. The 5, 205, 106, 206, 306 were all great rally cars - agile with good engines. To this day a 205/106/306 in the GTI or Rally guise are one of the best hot hatches. They were running in WEC too - the beginning of the 90's with a crazy group C car and then a couple more times with mixed results. I like having them around.

    LMU is a great game. There are a few issues but hey.. ACC for example is out for years now and the suspension and car touches while racing side by side is still a mess. They do a great job and on discord they are very communicative something what is missing by Kunos.... That's my opinion.. I drove ACC for 2,5 years now but LMU get's me more and more. I have more fun to drive on LMU instead of ACC. It's more challenging on breaks on throttle not like ACC hit the break 100% on the right point and try to get as fast as possible around the corner... It's boring... And I don't think that in a real race car works like this. In LMU the car feels more alive somehow... And that's fun.

  • @benjith82

    I mainly drive GTPs on iracing. But LMU is compelling to me since it is a sim that concentrates on those cars and the WEC. A Ferrari, which is obviously not on iracing as it is not an IMSA car, draws me to LMU as well. I kind of get along with the physics after a while. But I am on your side Nils with the FFB. It is to dull for me - especially with braking and slip angle. With braking I wonder if simagic pedal reactors can help. I want to ad that to my setup for iracing anyway. But wonder how LMU would work with it.

  • @Lewid93
    @Lewid93 Месяц назад +3

    The Lambo needs some serious setup work to get driving well, it's so vague all the time. It even bottoms out and spins you around at the bottom of Eau Rouge on a flying lap with the default setup. It's disappointing because I really like how the car looks, but driving it is such a chore.
    And I totally agree about the FFB and locking the tyres, it would be really nice to have more feedback. Especially for more casual players on lower end hardware, I use a G29 and there are some things I simply don't feel at all, like locking the fronts, which you have to rely on visuals for.
