It saddens me that these figures are ridiculously priced with horrible quality. I'm a big FF7 fan as I played it in my younger days and just loved the game. I've ordered Barret from BBTS and got Tifa on PO. Hesitating on Cloud as most reviews I've watched show how horrible his quality is and undecided on Aerith. Thanks for your honest review. Like you said, Square Enix is pretty much just monopolizing on these characters.
I have Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and Aerith so far. Aerith and Barret have a good face imo- but Cloud and Tifas face is bull lol Clouds expression looks snobby, and Tifas face shape is too long, they got her eyes wrong, and her lip placement is far too down, doesn't resemble the original drawings.... articulation isn't good, i strongly agree, i feel they were rushed. I don't really move them for that reason when they displayed tifa on the Japanese stream, her arm fell... So that told me they aren't quality. The quality control isn't there...they should be around 50 because they are kind of small. You're better off getting the original Play arts from back in the day, the faces are way better imo
I've heard the second release of cloud is a lot better. I haven't gotten tifa in hand yet so I hoping they have fixed the issues that you were having. My issue has always been the price. I agree that I might as well get the playarts kai versions because bringarts are creeping up on the same price. I do have those on preorder currently.
They’re the classic ff7 designs. This isn’t the rerelease either it’s slated for July. You have the original release. I sold my original cloud in hopes the re-release will fix the qc issues but I’m doubtful 😅 also it’s square-enix not Sony but you might have just had a Freudian slip
Yeah, I mentioned it being square enix in the video in a little message on the screen. hopefully the rerelease does fix the issues. hopefully min was a just a restock of the old figure. I might grab it and see if there's a difference.
sounds like you have buyers remorse, I would like these but TOO EXPENSIVE, I got the street fighter jada toys and the quality seems better on those and much more affordable, hopefully jada gets more IPS like FF7
I wouldn’t call it buyers remorse per say. I’m still going to get the other characters because I love FF7, I’m just disappointed. It’s unlikely Square Enix will license any FF characters to other companies that could do it better. If that was the case Figma, Mafex, or S.H. Figuarts would have made them already. Unfortunately Square Enix wants to keep their monopoly on these characters.
Meanwhile Black Series costs 4 times less and offers superior quality with paint, detail, durability, photorealistic likeness, articulation, packaging. What gives?
I don't collect black series, but I would imagine they are better in some ways. The figure LOOK great. The articulation is the problem. I have heard the new batch of cloud figures have fixed the issue with the legs, so there may be an update review if I can get my hands on one of the new batches.

You can dry the nail polish, joint glue method, I tried on my Sephiroth and it works wonders.

Yeah, it’s unfortunate. Especially with what stores like BBTS are charging. If you can I would recommend trying to get them from amiami or HLJ.

Same for me. I’m a huge FF7 for the same reason. It’s a shame square won’t license these characters to other companies.
