small batch pedals are a cool idea in theory but the MINUTE they shipped a bunch of them showed up on reverb for ridiculous prices. this is all that happens with the creation of artificial scarcity. it's too bad for those of us who couldn't afford to plunk down 400 bucks within the allotted ordering period. hopefully enough people will want it that they'll do a regular roll-out, but i can't help but cynically wonder if the reverb trail doesn't lead straight back to chase bliss, remember kids, bliss doesn't cost anything, and if you have to chase it, you may never find it. in conclusion, i wish I had a reverse mode c

I mostly agree with you. It a better option than limited quantity releases like the limited color schemes for Gen Loss or MOOD or something, but it still creates a lot of artificial value for the pedal. Capitalists gotta capitalist though.

The whole idea with the small batch bliss series is that they don't build them until after the order period ends and they'll make the exact number of pedals they need. Previously they would have to guess how interested people would be, which would often lead to them immediately selling out and being scalped for even more ridiculous prices on Reverb. You're still going to see them up on Reverb, but if everyone is given the opportunity to order it up front, there should be less of a demand for the ones being resold. They have also said that if there is enough demand for a pedal they'll consider offering additional batches. It gives them the opportunity to make some even more wild stuff that may not have mass appeal, so I'm all for it. Maybe not a perfect system, but it's an improvement.

@@GSpar44 and so often people cling to the idea that the problem rests with people complaining as opposed to what they're actually complaining about. it's how every shitty thing that happens is allowed to keep happening no matter what
