This has got to be the most unique pedal I've come across in a while, which is really saying something considering just how far out pedal manufacturers have been reaching lately. I love love LOVE the trippy, glitchy, and deconstructive sounds this pedal offers. I bet it would sound world-ending if paired or placed in parallel with a rainbow machine or blooper!
Super underrated pedal! I did a video on this one a while back so pleasantly surprised to see yours! Of course, your video is so good you inspired me to take mine off the shelf immediately :D
Your demo is actually what sold me on this pedal. The majority of demos focused on the weird experimental stuff this thing can do, but your demo really opened my eyes to what a wonderful box of lo-fi nostalgia this pedal can be. So thank you for your great demos. Love your approach and overall vibe 🙌❤️
Great job Stefan, they are some TASTY sounds! To my ears it sounds like some of my favourite pedals rolled into one (Shallow Water, Moog Chorus and Belle Epoch to be precise). I'm glad that you feature synths in your demos as I have a Korg Wavestate and have been eyeing off a Minifreak lately, so much fun. Love your work mate, bravo as always 🙏
Awww! Thank you so much. I always enjoy spending time to unlock the quirky unexpected corners of a pedal, so I’m happy to hear that you appreciate the effort 🙏
Some amazing settings - I find myself gravitating towards the sound mangling aspects but its a device that demands exploration and the amount of sounds it contains seems endless.
Love your playing, you find the best way to show all the gear on this channel. Curious what your Jazzmaster tuning was? It would be great to see that tidbit of info added to the "gear used" section of the video description. Keep up the good work!
Well that is a whole art house movie soundtrack in a box. Just when I think modulation has had every drop of possibility squeezed out of it, this comes along and presents a whole new world of musical weirdness. Amazing sound design potential beautifully presented mate..❤
It is definitely a deep pedal. Everything on it is highly interactive and reactive to each other. It's rare that I think sound design when I think of modulation pedals, but this one can definitely bring some insane textures that I've never heard in other modulation pedals before. Such a fun one to explore. Happy you enjoyed the demo, my dear friend!
Cheers, man! Fideleater is very different compared to Space Bender. They honestly occupy two completely different sonic universes to me. Fideleater is very much about lo-fi sounds (classic shimmering chorus, warbly random vibrato, slow disintegrating pitch bends, fixed speed tape echo and random chaotic delays) whereas Space Bender is about sounds with a sci-fi edge to them (Crazy dynamic flanger sounds, warped delays, instant dream-pop modu-verb, cascading ambience, spinning echoes etc). So to me the choice all depends on what sonic aesthetic you're going for.
@thepedalzone thank you so much, that makes sense. Looking for both types of sound 😅 Space Bender completely wowed me, but the price... whereas with fideleater i was more like "hmm, so this sounds cool too"
I haven't watched this video yet but i can already tell you that I want this pedal because of the way it looks and i wish that all pedal makers would hire a legit designer for their pedals! There's nothing worse than an ugly pedal that sounds great because it's just not going to end up on my board. I'll find a pedal that looks better and does the same thing
That's also what initially attracted me to this brand. The pedals just look so good, and that makes you want to take the first step and hear what they sound like, and as expected they sound as good and interesting as they look. Love Intensive Care Audio pedals so much!
Thank you! No, the pickups aren’t stock anymore. I have Righteous Sound Jazzmaster pickups installed. The stock pickups were nice though, and you can hear those in action in my older demos before I gave the guitar a full makeover with new pickguard and pickups. It’s an awesome guitar. One if he best gear purchases I’ve ever made
@@thepedalzoneI have the same guitar and thinking about swapping them out for some Lollars (which are quite expensive). Was the change worth it for you?
Maybe. Your guess is as god as mine. There’s definitely a double play on words present as it both affects signal fidelity and also holds the ability to completely chew up and mangle your instrument 😊
No, I'm pretty sure it's a PT2399 design. A digital IC Delay Chip that emulates old Bucket Brigade sounds. Has a similar architecture. The noise happens when you begin to push the chip further than it's actually designed to go. I personally love that. Adds some really charming vintage texture to the sounds.

I really like the "glitchy goodness". Also the ending part with the synth is incredible, Good job man ❤
Thank you so much ❤️
Nice! I love your chord progression at 2:32, Stefan!
Thanks a lot! ❤️
Wow, your Jazzmaster looks and sounds great!
Thank you!!

Thank you so much, bud! Means the world to me. If there's one thing this pedal is, then it's versatile. It packs so many sounds, it's mind-boggling.
Great demo man! You always seem to come up with a couple of interesting tricks for every pedal you review.

Thank you very very much 🙏❤️ My guitar was tuned to FACGCE

Beautiful demo as usual Stefan! Where would you place this pedal compared to dba's space bender? Trying to decide if cheaper is an option 🤔

That J Mascis Jazzmaster sounds ace! Are these the stock pickups?

The change was very much worth it! It was like getting a new instrument
@@thepedalzone Thanks!
Thanks for the review. Can anyone suggest an affordable glitch delay pedal? Cheers
My pleasure. Happy you enjoyed it!
What is that app on your phone? This pedal is amazing!
The app is called Pianoscaper. Happy to hear you dig the pedal. It’s a blast to explore
Tape stops... this is going to show up on your next Halloween special isn't it?
...and unhinged time warps. Spooky!
There’s a big chance it will. This thing contains so many wild twisted textures
What is the iPhone app you’re using to interface with the pedal?
It's called Pianoscaper. All the gear used is always mentioned in the video description here on YT :)
@@thepedalzone thank you for your great videos!
"Fiddle eater"? Or "fidelity - ator" with the "ti" dropped out?
Maybe. Your guess is as god as mine. There’s definitely a double play on words present as it both affects signal fidelity and also holds the ability to completely chew up and mangle your instrument 😊
I think it's "Fidel - eee- ter" like fidelity eater. Just combined.
This sounds awesome but since getting an LVX i just feel my pedal GAS journey is now over.
LVX definitely covers a lot of ground. Happy you liked the demo, means a lot 🙏
is the pedal all analog?
Pretty sure it's based around the PT2399 chip, but with analog dry through
Neat pedal, but not my cup of tea. I'm guessing with all that noise that it's all analog - correct?

another mono? such a shame
Run it into some stereo delay and/or reverb and you’re golden 👌
