I have some kind of rust/brownish color scum stuff on the sand.... not much seems to be on the glass or the rocks, its mostly confined to the sand... any idea what it might be?
Fought a 6 month battle on my 525XL a few years back. I tried everything and DinoX is what finally worked for me. My Dino looked exactly like yours. I also followed up with a few doses of Dr. Tims Waste away. Been Dino free ever since. Had no coral or fish loss with the exception of a Aussie Gold torch. I'm guessing your 6 line was just a coincidence. But who really knows.
Weird you should say about your six line wrasse. I noticed within minutes of dosing for the first time my six line looked (no other way to describe this) like it was having several poops at once hanging from his underside. And they weren’t the usual colour they were like a grey colour. He was fine the next morning - obviously as per the instructions I dose just before lights out so had to wait and see. Tonight I’ve just added my second dose. This time within a few minutes it was my purple tangs turn. Again coming from his underside but this was like a tangled silvery knot hanging off him. It looked like he’d passed his own intestines out. Wrasse seemed unaffected this time. Strange the way they’ve both had odd looking and coloured bowel movements both times within 5-10 minutes of dosing!
Super scared to dose this being I have brand new frags! Also dont want to loose fish. Hy tank dosnt respond to chemi clean either so I guess its dinos but no bubbles! Eveyt tank I have seen with dino has bubbles? Did yo u have any? Mine stared after lowering my phosphates as well with nopox! It like a redish brown film on glass and rocks as wall. The sand bed looks like diatoms. It was worse than now and got a lot better after blowing of corals and rocks daily and also stirring up sand bed. It released it all to the top and pulled out by drain into skimmer! i thought it was gone so bought a bunched of new and expensive frags! Kicking myself because its back! I read not to blowoff rocks ect if it is dinos because it can spread it so I quite bu t some of my new frags looked bad and one died so starting doing that again. Seems frags are actally looking better but I keep blowing of this stringy stuff that attches to them! How can you identify what it is. I dose mb7 and vibrant one after the other about once every 3 days. Not at the same time though I alternate each one evry 3 days. These other dino plans are so extensive and heard some good thing recently about this. How didi it work for you?
