We just took the Craftsman Verastack cases to the next level by building a mic Shure QLXD4 directly into the case to make it completely PLUG & PLAY. Check out the video here: ruclips.net/video/-a59j0JeilE/видео.html
Just stumbled upon your channel and I’m instantly impressed with your video. I actually have a Rigid 3 tier that are stackable. The bottom has all of my power/extension cords. The middle has all of my dmx cables. The top has all of my connection adapters/batteries,etc. got it off of Facebook Marketplace for $25. Thanks for your channel. 🤜🤛
I have a bunch of these tool boxes and love them. I'm getting ready to purchase fabric so I can slip over them stack to hide them and use it as a small table if needed.
This isn't a bad idea. However, I had 2 or 3 of the Versastack boxes and while they were OK, there are a couple of other alternatives that might work better for some. The Ridgid cases at Home Depot are a little more heavy duty. The only issue is there are only a few sizes. The real good alternative, and the one I use for my tools, is the Milwaukee Packout. I'm not sure how well it would work for DJs but it is work a look. The Packout system has a lot of cases, and some would work for things like mics, small mixers, cables and cords, and power strips. They lock together in a more secure way than the Craftsman cases do. The Craftsman cases may be a good way to start and you can always sell them as I did with mine. Also, the Ridgid and Packouts have premium foam inserts that are premade for their cases (like the Pelican cases) that you can get. That foam isn't cheap but for mics, it is something to think about. I'm not sure if they make it for the Craftsman boxes. I'm going with the cases from Harbor Freight for my DJ/Sound gear. But this is a great video to help folks think about this stuff in a different way!!
Thanks iLoveDJcdub and Scott 15 for you information. I’m started DJ about 10 years ago and still learning. I manage to put a majority of my gear in a large suit case, but looking for a nice upgrade and loving the stacking idea to cut down on multiple trips. Appreciate you all. Take care and God bless
Great video. I use the Ridgid toolboxes for my gear. I have all of them and have used mine for over 5 years. No broken wheels or hinges. Solid boxes , cheaper than flight cases and the Milwaukee boxes.
@@Ilovedjcdub the only thing I haven’t put in them are my mini moving heads and spider lights. I’m sure I can with some foam. That’s next after a new cordless microphone and case
@ilovedjcdub i’m so glad you posted this, and for that matter I’m gonna subscribe to your channel. I’ve been using my craftsman toolboxes for the past three years and yes you’re right they are very tough and reliable to store my cables and mics. I’m gonna borrow your idea to store my up lighting. I gonna have to figure out how to put connectors so I can use it as a charging station as well.
Thanks for the sub. These Craftsman cases are AMAZING! If you want to get power into the case maybe you can use a passthrough like I did on my mic build. Check it out: ruclips.net/video/-a59j0JeilE/видео.html
Great video, and I am glad I'm not the only one thinking why the heck is a flight case for my SC5000 and Mixer almost 6ft long and so bulky looking. Yes I think the look of your setup matters. I cannot stand the look of equipment in flight cases, maybe it's me. I am still looking but love the idea of this setup.
I'm sold! Thanks for sharing the great idea! I also have the rockville wedges/flight case they are heavy & bulky.. can you go more in depth? For example what size case did you fit the 6 wedges? How you customized the cases? How you organize your cases?
I also have the charging flight cases for my Rockwedges but don't use them to transport my lights because they are too big and bulky. I've been using a small cardboard box lol. I like what you did here! What size case did you use for your Rockwedges?
I went with a medium size case which was about $35. They fit all six lights in there perfectly. If you put the 2 inch foam on the top and the bottom it holds the lights nice and snug and they don’t move at all.
The 17” toolbox (the middle size) is what works best for the RockWedges. www.lowes.com/pd/CRAFTSMAN-VERSASTACK-System-17-in-Red-Plastic-Lockable-Tool-Box/1000578373
@@Ilovedjcdub thats not the issue, the issue is lifting the case into my SUV. I had to bring out my wife to help me lift them up. Unloading at the venue, I had to take them out individually to avoid lifting the totes back up. I use them now for extension cords and stuff like that. Each Chauvet Freedom Par weighs like 9lbs, that 9lbs x 12=backache like hell. Evenb when I just put 4 of them into a smaller totes it was like 40lbs. Now I use bags from Harbor Freight and put 2 or 3 into them.

Thanks for watching. These cases have worked out very well for me and it makes loading/unloading the trailer faster and easier.
Hey buddy! This video was great! Many times people focus on spending money instead of being creative. Subscribed!😍
Appreciate you sharing the knowledge 🙏

Bro this is genius! I’ve thought about getting some of these
Man, I know how you feel about those heavy road cases and how much they're price. What a good tip. Thank you for the tip.
I've over lifting heavy gear over and over again, so I'm always looking for ways to streamline setups and breakdowns.
Nice idea!!! Smart!!

It's crazy how well they work out for our needs as DJ's. They are so versatile.

Nice one! I have four black cases that stack together!
What to you pack into your cases and how much time to you estimate it saves you?

Sure, I'll have to do a more in depth how to video when time permits. These cases work out really well for me so far and have save a ton of time.
I'm in Australia.....they don't sell the exact same one as yours, so I'm going to buy the DeWalt T Stack (3 case set)....Thanks for the pro tip.

Nice looking but I tried putting up lights into them and it weighed 40lbs
Are you using the cases with the wheels. It's make transport so much easier.
