- Crazy fast acceleration - tuned 2016 Ford Explorer Sport 3.5 V6 4WD Biturbo with a Livernois stage 3 kit making 500 crank hp or 425whp. Hello and welcome to the Car Acceleration TV channel. We received an impressive video from the channel "The 570 Experience". @@jKd2005 something that’s 2 times slower at a 0-60 time? Why? Modern ones are amazing and still decently built and are very quick and the 3.5 n/a itself moves amazing especially with a higher octane gas and the biturbo ecoboost 3.5 is even quicker and the same if drove on premium

No exhaust manifold leak yet? They aren't bad but nothing compared to the new 5.0 or peformance of an EcoBoost. All of the engines they offer outperform the 5.0 low output unfortunately. Even the 3.3 naturally aspirated
LOL, but no one reads the description. Tuned stage 3 making 425whp or 500 at the crank. No stock explorer is moving like that lol. Stock sports at 365 crank are doing 14.5 in the quarter at 95mph.

Sad to say, I fail to see this actually making more than 360whp, if it was making 425 or some bullshit it would SCOOT. Taurus sho, stage 4 kit hits 4.5-4.6 0-60, runs HIGH 11s or low 12s with fbo and tune, so this explorer weighing 4600lbs vs a 4300 taurus.. This clearly isn't making anywhere over 350whp if that. It's hard enough breaking 400whp with a tuned and fbo taurus w/o getting into your fuel system and running meth. And for those not seeing the connection in comparison, they're the exact same drivetrain.
Bull I have a stock 17 sport and with 93 octane it does 5.8-5.9 0-60!!

I think what people don’t understand about turbos is air temp and elevation play a role in the amount of power you get.

Run 93 in my 17 sport and I get about 5.9 0-60, not bad for such a big vehicle.

Significantly quicker if you put it in sport mode and turn on sand mode (which enables active AWD and turns off traction control) I’ve been able to hit 5.1
Not true..sport mode only holds gears longer...this is an old video...I've achieved 4.9 since then...but this video isnt about 0-60...its about reaching 140 safely

Sport mode makes little difference. I've done videos on my channel proving that. this video was just about top speed and getting to 140 miles an hour safely

Driver did not take off traction control, which is why it bogged from the start. The 0-60 time with that tune should be right around 4.9-5.2 seconds.
Dennis Hawkins correct....it was a top speed run...the only thing I concentrated on was getting it to 140 safely...check my channel out...I've posted videos of my 5.0 and 5.1 sec 0-60

It makes a difference in how long the car will hold gears, that's about it.

Well first of all it's not bs...I have dyno sheets....my explorer weights over 5k lbs without me in it...I have a video proving that...and no they are not the same...one is an SUV and one is a sedan....the SUV has the aerodynamics of a house where the sedan is far more slip stream and if you've ever done top speed runs like this you'd know..the only thing that matters in top speed runs is HP and aerodynamics....show me another explorer on RUclips doing 160mph...because I have videos of mine doing it..then tell me it doesnt have over 400hp at the wheels

Ya right! A vehicle making 500 crank hp does not accelerate anywhere near as slow as 5.8s 0-60. The 1st gen cherokee srt8 with 6.1L and only 425hp does it in less than 5sec for christ sake. Somebody is pullin somebodys leg on hp numbers here!

If ya read the description this is tuned lol. And it's on a dyno. This thing is making 500hp at the crank and 425 at the wheels.. more than a stock grand Cherokee srt8 does stock with the 392. This particular car tuned and all would probably bust a stock srt8's ass. Also no where does it claim this is the fastest SUV around either.

Yeah this SUV could never beat a tuned Grand Cherokee at all. I’ve driven both and this one sucks compared to the Cherokee!! That’s just my opinion though..

ryding with ryan it was a top speed run...I didn't take traction control off.....when it launched..all four tires spun..traction control dropped rpms as you can see in the video...I was going for 140...not 0-60...check my channel out...I have videos of my explorer doing 0-60 in 5 sec flat

it is faster the ford edge st from 0 to 100 in 4.9 seconds is very fast considering that it is a suv / crossover anyway the explorer is faster than its opponents

This wasn't a 0 to 60 run I was asked to do this video for top speed and top speed only as you can read in the description when it spun off the line traction control set in and bogged it down. I've done videos on my channel of me running a 5 second flat 0 to 60

All suvs are heavy so of course it’s gonna take off like a truck. a jeep srt8 goes 0 60 almost 6 seconds for example. I’m kinda impressed when it passed 140 that would beat my cousins Porsche cayman in a long run.
