I am incredibly sorry for the very inaccurate and messy ranking. Probably taking place as my worse ranking ever, I was not able to carefully listen to each and every member to properly evaluate them.

Tru but ya know I'm gonna have to say this is my saying for mamamoo but now I'm gonna have to use it for dreamcatcher.

@Ji0 I mean there similar however it's obvious that DC has much better choreos/dancing however no 3rd gen gg can beat mamamoo overall in vocals. However as an all round group DC has decent vocals and good dance. But I've only started watching them for 3months now while iv been with mamamoo for nearly 2years

siyeon is one of the most underrated main vocalists ever!! 🤧 her cover of “speechless” is amazing, go and watch it

this is gonna sound a lil rude, but Siyeon is not underrated at all. In fact she's often overhyped by people who don't know much about singing. She has sooooooo much tension in her voice that prevents any proper support whatsoever. She's never demonstrated proper support once and overall has a pretty bad technique. This video describes her as an "above average" main vocal when she's probably one of the worst. She's not even the best vocalist in dreamcatcher, Yoohyeon is. Yoohyeon actually has developed support and is all around a very solid lead vocal and should honestly be the main vocal of the group. Siyeon's only strength is that she has ease in the 5th octave which is why she can hit all those highnotes but she's straining for her life on those. I'm not trying to say she shouldn't be main vocal because honestly her voice is really nice, but her technique is just awful and it really bothers me because if you look at Jihyo or Rose, they're constantly hated and saying they "can't sing" because they (used to) struggle with highnotes (both of them have improved a lot since debut, Jihyo is even now showing support on C5s and can sustain F#5 live and G5 in sudio, something that top vocalists like Taeyeon can struggle with) when here's someone who's constantly being treated like she's a top vocalist in the industry. I honestly fear for her future because there's no way her voice can sustain this in the long run.

@@othebomb1980 i'm no vocal nerd and I'm not gonna pretend to know more than u, but I feel like ppl really like siyeon bc of her focus on style. rock as a genre is less ab the perfect technique and more ab the delivery, as I've read quite frequently online. maybe that's why she's the main vocal. jihyo and rose r great examples of companies prioritizing uniqueness over technique, and tbh that's just the nature of kpop and that is 100% why u find really really bad singers in a ton of mainstream groups. there r more things companies look for than just pure skill

Sua has the "voice" but because there's a lack of training, she resorts to just yelling/screaming which is damaging to her vocal chords. She's done it before! That's from a lack of experience. Jiu has more control, and clearly knows what she's doing.
idk but for me, jiu has a better technique and control, while sua has a better vocal color

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO FOR AGES.
Though I'm shocked to see Yoohyeon as a nasal singer, since I don't hear any nasalness in her voice. I used to think SuA was nasal too, but when you hear her talking, she sounds like that too, so now I think it's just her voice. Though a lot of them were nasal while being in Minx in order to sound cute.

i totally agree with this ranking!!! i never really thought of yoohyeon as a nasal singer because i always felt that she uses more of her chest voice but now that i've seen this video, i do see how she usually projects her voice through her nose. also for sua, i always felt like she was straining a lot whenever she had to pull high notes, its also obvious that she sounds much more comfortable singing lower notes so i really agree on your analysis of sua's voice!!! thank u so much for this video, it was really interesting to watch and understand how different their singing style and vocal techniques are ❤️

As a Yoohyeon stan I totally agree with this list. I actually guessed she would be second before I got there lol. It's hard to compete with Siyeon in this type of list. All the girls are amazing but Siyeon definitely takes the cake! Love Dreamcatcher! Hope they continue to grow and each girl gets their moment to shine brightly!

Sua is my first bias, but I disagree with rankings from other channels that put her above Jiu (these rankings don't have reasoning though as far as I've seen). Before I read more about vocal technique, I also thought she was a better singer than Jiu since her voice sounds more powerful. But now that I've seen many vocal analysis like this, powerful and deep voice doesn't necessarily make a singer better than other singer whose voice sounds "cuter" or "lighter". I'm with you about ranking. SuA is my bias but I agree she's especially strained when it came to highnote because of nasal voice. But for Yoohyeon I don't think she is nasal, she's too stable for a nasal singer in contrast with SuA.
Overall I think all DC girls still have a room to develop their vocal skill.

I am doing all those suggested videos, but for visual I do not understand what you mean by normal. Beauty is perceived differently by multiple people. I would recommend to only suggest Koreans standards as they have a very detailed description of their desired visual, when compared to other countries.

I agree with the ranking and pointing out both good and bad points. 😄 Might be a bit critical for some, so a disclaimer on which songs you base it could help calm fans saying this and that song shows this girl can do that well.
I wonder how do K-pop idols (like DC) compare to western pop singers? In addition to vocals they have to be full-time dancers and models too. Dividing their time they probably train insane amounts on everything.
And singing with intensive choreos must be hard, or is it common not to sing live during performances?
Dreamcatcher sings live more often then not and they are really stable. Which is also why many people may be surprised when they rank as nasal vocalists cause most kpop vocalists that use their nose aren't stable when dancing.

Actually Sua, Handong, Jiu, Yoohyeon could easily be the main vocal of the group if it wasn't Dreamcatcher. I mean, Siyeon is wayyy too good but the rest are really good too. HappyFace really captures ONLY talented singer / idol

Yoohyeon she can do run and riff why you said her Versatility was lacking?
She has some versatility, but she does lack. If listen to an entire Dreamcatcher album, you will realized Yoohyeon's voice techniques has done the same thing in every song. I didn't even know she does runs and riffs. I never heard her do them. I probably have heard her done it but because of the lack of versatility it blocks any different styles she may have done in songs. The versatile queen is Siyeon cuz she manipulates her voice to sound a different type in every song to fit the concept. Yoohyeon is a better vocalist than JiU but JiU is more versatile than her. I mean, it's common choir knowledge.

iv learnt to never underestimate rappers after experiencing moonbyul for years lol but to be fair she had legit vocal training but was made into a rapper and was expected by her teacher to be a main vocal so for dami to be at such a level is hugely impressive. i mean i consider dreamcatcher as a whole the 2nd most vocally sound group after my babes mamamoo(in third gen) they are hugely talented and from listening to the masterpieceof an album called dystopia i expect big things from these girls i will now officially stan and vote
