Let's get the RCMP out and alberta police in!
We do not need a "police agency". We need competent police
we need the right to protect our selves.
We need prosecutors, dorsn't matter how many ppl get arrested, tge back log at Crown Attorneys office is in more need than a private gestapo for Smith and her minions. So glad I never drank the Smith BS koolade.
@@ThinkPolisComing4MeWhat with nuclear bombs to scare your neighbors?
Like most civilized communities people can be limited to what is permitted in the community.
Don't like it? Use your freedoms and find somewhere that permits your preference.
You have not lost your right to defend yourself only the right to tools deemed unacceptable in this community.
Thats the point in making the police provincial and not federal like RCMP. The RCMP is controlled but Ottawa. Alberta is absolutely making the correct decision and separating as much as it can from Ottawa. Alberta will prosper while every other province will suffer with trash liberal/NDP policies.
You realize that community policing comes from municipal / county budgets, if you need more officers then get them to add and pay for more boots on the ground. Equals more taxes of which the Feds currently pay for about 30%, GoA 0%
if alberta and bc form provincial police forces, rcmp revenue will significantly drop. rcmp should be more like FBI and focusing less on this local policing work
RCMP cannot recruit enough. So in order to recruit a provincial force, you would have to have something better then their offerings. Don't think it will be more cost effective. People want more money.
Something better like leaving the RCMP which has a high level of issues in various areas? Not having to worry about being transferred to a location somewhere in the Country you dont want to go? Yeah... plenty of things already better about a regional police agency. In fact, many RCMP officers in Alberta said they'd transfer their pensions over if they are allowed to move.
local police are less likely to follow herr trudy in illegal confiscation of firearms and trampling of citizen rights
There are people who actually believe the "Serve" part of "Serve & Protect" It isn't about saving money, it is about helping Albertans be protected from crime which the current police don't seem to have time to work on. Maybe the current forces can work on speeding tickets and arresting journalists, and the new force can spend their time stopping crime and even arresting corrupt police and federal government hacks.
"One petty tyrant a thousand miles away or a thousand petty tyrants a mile away?" Guess which one suits only those who want the opportunity, and permission, to persecute their neighbors with impunity.
Essentially, it is as if the FBI is also the local sheriff. The Brits wanted a strong police force to prevent another rebellion.
There are pluses and minuses. Feds are less liable to bribes and personal feuds. However, they are parachuted in for a short term and less invested in the community.
We've had four "assault" charges that I know of in my tiny community. ALL of which are either the perp coming AT the victim on their own property, or coming to aid. The RCM:P have charged the VICTIMS, then ENABLE the perps. along with the Clown....er Crown. I'ts becoming more then obvious. they're in over their head,
Well it’s better than letting the gestapo RCMP have the power which they’ve been abusing for years and now that they have their orders from the domestic territorist liberal party they are just doing what they are told because they have no moral compass and are just attack dogs for the highest bidder
RCMP are corrupt as hell. Have done zero to deal with ongoing government treason and illegal activity. They care nothing about their people and are the Royals police force.
@@PeacefulRallyCar-pw3cs The FBI, like the RCMP have proven themselves to be as corrupt and willing to break the law as those they should be arresting. Maybe our new force could be employed to seek out those kind of corrupt souls and find some charges that fit them.
Quebec, Ontario and Newfoundland all have provincial police forces. It's nothing new or groundbreaking
And they are totally corrupt.
Newfoundland also uses RCMP but OPP and the SQ are what I think most APP supporters want
But Alberta's will be scary... oooh, look, they wear Stetson hats like 'Muricans....
When i lived in NFLD all they had was the RCMP, they had no municipal police force, even in the capital St. John's it was the RCMP.
@@ImWithTeamTrinity
And the RCMP aren't? The only difference is the RCMP's corruption goes all the way up to a federal and now international level.
Excellent news. I'm in full support of Premiere Smith.
Good for Alberta. Get rid of the RCMP.
Not a big deal. Québec has had a Provincial Police (SQ) since forever and overall it's useful in rural regions and highway patrols, but there's always been some levels of corruption here and there over the years...Bad apples happen. Alberta won't be immune to that, just because the self-proclaimed, Queen of Alberta says so.
Alberta is separating from Ottawa as much as possible.
She is NOT "self-proclaimed" Queen of Alberta, she was duly elected and is our cherished and respected Queen of Alberta lol.
As an Albertan myself I am looking to see how this plays out, if it goes ahead as planned lets hope it has some impact on rural crime which has gotten out of hand.
More cops don’t reduce crime; social programs do. This has been proven time and again in other countries.
@CPT_Snazzypants So your going to change the ways of long term hardened criminals with a social program?
Right!
@@CPT_Snazzypants So the 10s of billions spent on social programs has ended crime in say, Edmonton's downtown and LRT...? Crime ends when people are too afraid of the consequences and also when they are too busy doing something useful, neither of which social programs can address.
@@Don_ECHOguySame as safe drugs/houses, doesn’t work.
@@Don_ECHOguy Yes? The fact that you seem to belive all petty robbers are "hardened criminals" is proof of how little empathy you have.
If you think the rcmp are bad, the sheriff’s are worse, I’ve worked with both for over 20 years
How so?
Guess he lied
I support Alberta having their own policing system.
It’s another security measure for the citizens of Alberta against our corrupt Federal Government.
I agree do everything provincial, cant wait to see who smith blames for her provincial police force
They will be just as corrupt who do think will be employees lmao the same ol' cops from the other forces that want a change of scenery or a new promotion and raise seeing as it will pay more than city officers
A very well funded an equipped "citizen's militia" would be more effective at standing against government corruption, and other threats.
@@vampfashions So you want militant vigilante groups like they have in MAGA America?
Thank God, get the RCMP out now.
Alberta used to have a provincial police agency
Makes sense. Ontario and Quebec have one. For some reason, the only people against it are people who vote NDP in Alberta. I wonder why?
Typically it's a brain damage issue 😂
Agreed with you because I living in BC . Long time ago this province was different because the used to have Canadian values after NDP took over the power. Now, citizens see the corruption from politicians who come from this horrible NDP runs government rules 🙄
Probably those who vote ND would be afraid of an honest police force arresting them for corruption.
More cops? What is coming?🤔
so what..Ontario has the OPP....let them have what they want
This will cost Albertians Billions of dollars, but wasting taxpayer dollars is what the UCP is all about. This idea was looked at under Ralph Klien and rejected due to the huge cost.
Current RCMP stations/officers will be filling those jobs. Cost will not be bad.
Always has bern .disgusting.
@@steveo4253wake up.
BUT can we afford the RCMP . They have had so many payouts and lawsuits over the years that we are not even allowed to see and have zero accountability and transparency that they all yap about . Why are all those costs kept hidden seeing WE are the ones that pay for stupidity ???
Pretty much what is happening in Surrey
Can't recruit enough for the RCMP, but somehow CAN recruit enough for a provincial police force?
Sounds likely.
They already have sheriffs in highway patrol and the duties that are about to transfer to police powers, all they need to do is train them up to police standards. It’s leagues easier than training a new recruit
Because wearing a RCMP uniform would be embarrassing....
We could probably fully staff it with volunteers, like neighborhood watch or the Guardian Angels.
Watch and learn, Canada!!! Premier Smith will lead Alberta to days not seen since the Lougheed days!! An Alberta Police Force is just another step towards success. Step #2 should be on cracking down on Commercial Vehicles and their driver competencies and taking steps to immediately stop/ground bad actors immediately for periods that actually have some impact to offenders.
When you look in a garbage can, you find garbage.
@@PeacefulRallyCar-pw3cs Import Third World = Third World results.
First off, Peter Lougheed was the only good and sensible Conservative premier in Alberta. He also didn't trust Danielle Smith.
Danielle Smith didn't last very long as a public school trustee, as the Wildrose party leader, and as a radio talk show host, because of what she said and did wrong.
Danielle Smith made the Wildrose party get defeated to Alison Redford and the Alberta PCs, in 2012. In 2015, Danielle Smith got defeated in her own riding, in 2015, by another Conservative candidate.
Also, as the premier of Alberta, Danielle Smith angers constituents, contradicts herself, tells so many lies, flip flops, backtracks and does many very costly debacles.
Former Conservative politicians in Alberta, including ones who were in Peter Lougheed's cabinet, have said that they don't trust Danielle Smith and the UCP, because they are so dishonest.
So far, the UCP have made well over $80 billion in very costly debacles and mistakes, and the UCP have also given Alberta a mammoth debt that is now nearly $140 billion.
Rural municipal leaders in Alberta have said that they oppose an Alberta Provincial Police Force, because they say it will cost at least $1 billion.
Danielle Smith said that the Alberta Provincial Police Force would not be part of the provincial election agenda, I the last provincial election in Alberta.
She is now pursuing another thing that she didn't campaign on.
The only reason why the UCP wants an Alberta Provincial Police Force, is because the former UCP leader was being investigated by the R.C.M.P, for how he attained his position of power.
Danielle Smith will never be as great as Peter Lougheed was.
When you make the comparison with Danielle Smith to Peter Lougheed, it enforces the fact that you really have no clue.
Jack Tripper, and Janet and Chrissie saw how Stanley Furley flopped.
@john-df7yg First of all, I'm not typing any crap, as I'm posting facts. Second, the rural municipal leaders in Alberta have said themselves, that they oppose an Alberta Provincial Police Force, because they have said that it will cost at least $1 billion, and they don't have the money to pay for that. Third, rural municipal leaders in Alberta have said that municipal property taxes would go up greatly, in order to pay for an Alberta Provincial Police Force. Lastly, Danielle Smith said that an Alberta Provincial Police Force would not be part of the provincial election agenda in Alberta, in 2023. Why is she pursuing the Alberta Provincial Police Force that she didn't campaign on, and that rural municipal leaders in Alberta said they oppose? When all you can do is deflect to something else, it proves that you are absolutely clueless. This discussion is over.
We need Alberta Style❤❤❤❤❤❤
At least our province is trying to resist trudeau's dictatorship.
Wake up.

Very sad, and don't know the definition of dictator.
By being in danielle's dictatorship! Ha ha ha
You guys tried this years ago with the then Alberta Hyw Patrol … … it fell flat on its face
I see sheriffs on patrol about 10 times a day... they seem to be doing a fairly good job.

Who is "we"? Rural municipal leaders in Alberta, do not support an Alberta Provincial Police Force, because they say it will cost at least $1 billion. Danielle Smith said that an Alberta Provincial Police Force would not be part of the provincial election agenda in 2023. In rural Alberta, they voted for the UCP and the CPC, but they still support keeping the R.C.M.P. Try again.
@sylvi4444 The truth is that rural municipal leaders in Alberta oppose an Alberta Provincial Police Force, because they say it will cost at least $1 billion. Danielle said that an Alberta Provincial Police Force would not be included on the provincial election agenda, in the last provincial election in Alberta. Why is Danielle Smith contradicting herself, and pursuing what rural municipal leaders in Alberta said they oppose?
That's pretty sad that the rcmp have lost so much trust but that's what happens when you become federal henchmen for the Trudeau liberals.
The 5th or 20th time you arrest a journalist and completely ignore another massive corruption fraud it does make people wonder if they can support you.
Actually, rural municipal leaders in Alberta have told the UCP that they oppose having an Alberta Provincial Police Force, because they say it will cost at least $1 billion. Rural municipal areas in Alberta voted for the UCP. Danielle Smith said that an Alberta Provincial Police Force would not be part of the provincial election agenda for Alberta, in 2023. She contradicted herself, once again. Why is Danielle Smith pursuing an Alberta Provincial Police Force, that she never campaigned on, that has no support from rural municipal leaders in Alberta? The former UCP leader was being investigated by the R.C.M.P, for how he attained his position of power, and that's the only reason why the UCP wants an Alberta Provincial Police Force. The UCP prove that they aren't a Conservative government at all.

Didn't even know Alberta Didn't have their own force. Thought every province did.
I think NL/ON/QC are the only provinces with provincial police
Couple of points. To the people saying they will struggle as bad or worse as the RCMP with recruitment you're wrong. There will be many rcmp that either left over forced vaccination or wish they had another option for employment and second there will be guys that put their 20 years in and can get that 1st pension that would join the provincial police in hopes of doubling up. And unrelated to recruitment I think it's a wise idea to have your police force not taking orders from wack job liberals in the east. WIN WIN
Mike Ellis sounds like a parrot, trying to fulfill the interim Queen’s political desire to wash all things Canadian from the Alberta landscape.
Agreed, she's just dividing us not accomplishing anything. Usual UCP BS.
That happened when the RCMP were coerced into changing their dress code to accommodate a religion that does not require the dress .

Wasre of tax dollars
Used to it in quebec and Ontario. Doesn't seem like a horrible idea
Big difference in Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador. They had their provincial police forces for many years, so there is no start up costs. Rural municipal leaders in Alberta have told the UCP that they oppose an Alberta ProvincialPolice Force, because they say it will cost at least $1 billion. Danielle Smith said that an Alberta Provincial Police Force would not be included on the provincial election agenda in 2023. She is contradicting herself, once again. Alberta should have it's own Navy! Who's with me?
More tax money from the people
Don't count on less taxes...it will be more!
It's not about saving money. It is about finally getting some police action in rural areas and in areas of the cities that the "overworked" (lazy) city forces can't adequately protect.
I wouldn't mind a provincial police force in Alberta but there will be systemic police issues no matter who it is

Sounds like more waste from the UCP. They cant do anything right. The rural areas certainly need more help from police services but I expect this to be a failure like everything else the UCP does.
Not doing anything right belongs to the rcmp. The entire force is corrupt and incompetent. Very much like the Trudeau government.
What would be wrong with spending even $2 billion a year on even just rural policing since the RCMP refuses to properly address their responsibility. Don't people in all of Alberta deserve to feel safe and have their property and family protected? Maybe the new force could also arrest a few corrupt "other" police and even a few Fed ministers for crimes against Alberta lol?

Alberta join the US exit Canada
Why in hell would we trade our 12 abusive partners for 51 more abusive partners. We need to stand on our own and then choose who we will allow to join US.
I've known an RCMP constable since 1973, now retired. (yes, Alberta). BUT the RCMP: was never designed for city service: it's a rural/para military operation, and should stay Federal, and change it's mandate/direction. City police are set up in levels: a constable does NOT make an immediate charge, then collects biased infor. to justify his decision. City police take their infor. to a detective, and "assessment" and the scene (larger picture) is made. Many Canadian cities have already either gone on their own and not renewed the RCMP contract., or are about to, and that makes sense. All things come to an end.
Wait and ask what the people want after another year of trudo
Wouldnt the rcmp...would be in charge of them lmao cause they are federal which the provincial is 😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂 so does that mean the province is withholding people from applying to the rcmp in order to create this 😂😂

It’s the right path for Alberta. We will eventually secede from Canada, or become another Ontario under the foolish ill advised, short-sited, far-left woke authoritarianism of the Liberals.
Yeah, that does seem to be the choice, and boy oh boy do the leftists cower in fear at the majority awakening to that issue and knowing it is finally time to make the choice.
About time.

She just wants even more control 😢
No that`s an NDP thing that is what that sleeze- bag Singh is about and look where we are with that .Whenever we have a federal election the NDP and Lieberals could very well loose party status and that would be a fine thing.
She was elected by Albertans because Albertans want her to do what she is doing. Like Notley and Kenney, when she doesn't do what we want, she will move on to her next job.
We really need the sheriff's dept to be set up similar to how the states have done, the head for each area needs to be voted in during the election cycle to ensure the dept acts on the interests of the people it is policing, and not in the interests of the tyrants at the top.
The US style of policing is renowned for insular thinking, local corruption and nepotism. Local, state and federal agencies quibble about jurisdiction, despise each other and won't work together. The US policing model is NOT the answer.
Maybe the new force could be used to arrest people like SG when they venture too far from Ottawa, maybe create a new charge under the AB highway traffic act... "Travel to commit attack on AB." Maybe a penalty of 10 years of 'commitment' to attending a work camp.
You mean like how the Third Reich got started?
I hate this province. Can’t wait to move to BC. Not that I like the rcmp, but people have to know how bad this will be managed.

They want to keep the R.C.M.P. Danielle Smith said that an Alberta Provincial Police Force would not be included on the provincial election agenda for Alberta, in 2023. Once again, Danielle Smith is contradicting herself, because she is pursuing something that she didn't campaign on. The previous UCP leader was being investigated by the R.C.M.P for how he attained his position of power. That's the only reason why the UCP wants an Alberta Provincial Police Force. The UCP doesn't listen to the people who elected them, and wants them to pay at least $1 billion for something that they oppose, doesn't make them very Conservative. The UCP already did over $80 billion in very costly debacles and mistakes, so they were never a Conservative government to begin with.
