Can you use the cdi box with a carbureted non boosted application?

Theses ignitions are designed to supply high energy spark for high cylinder pressures, boosted applications and also alcohol boosted where low afr and high cylinder pressure make ignition much harder.
You can run it NA with a carb, but it would be like driving a dump truck to pick up a few bags of sand instead of using a regular pickup truck.
