I've watched this one 5 times now. That happy sounding song combined with the empty buildings, the cemetery, the road are funny and sad at the same time. Those gorgeous colors and the sky make it look so hot there! Thanks Dan, this video seems to me to have a poignancy that if I were younger, I'd say it gets me right in the feels.
+Deborah Sellars The song is from the time of the Mexican Revolution and is called "Coronelas" (women colonels -there were many in the revolution). It was one of my abuelita's favorites.
There are many abandoned towns in Mexico. Half of the Mexican territory is depopulated, only the center of Mexico is well populated. Greetings from Mexico.
Great video as always. I just felt kinda sad for the little skinny cat in the road at the end. The way you ended the video had a real symbolic impact because of that for me. A sad but beautiful story.
I loved this one! Watched it a couple times. I love the vibrant colors...it sure looked dry, hot and parched there. The scene with the recliner out there made me sweat thinking sitting there. I just love the way you capture things!
South America has some of the most crumbling, poverty stricken neighborhoods I have ever seen, & they just seem to go on forever; especially the outskirts of Chiapas, or more isolated places like Xaaga & Atlixtac, as well as some places in Peru & Venezuela. Thatchroof shanties with barred windows (no glass) & makeshift fences made of crimped metal sheets, particle board, & orange plastic netting. They can still be kind of charming though, like Pucallpa....Maybe it's the palm trees & lush grass.
that's were .y family is from. and my Grandpa was killed by cops in that town and buried in that Cemetery also my grandma passed away and buried there too. we have a farm right next to the Border I *love* this little town of Mexico
This in actuality is the bordertown community of AGUA PRIETA or Brown water on the line with USA bordetown Douglas (which means 'dark river') AZ Both cities named after the sulphur springs perhaps that carried dark waters or perhaps because of the volcano present between the neighboring cities/countries because that area was named as such long before the copper and ore mining or the presence of the Douglas Williams family who founded city in USA Douglas Az the video depicts neighborhoods abandoned as Agua Prieta grew east and south and people migrated leaving these areas which were considered the slums or red light districts
yeah I think you're right I believe it should be longer so we can see all Tijuana only the people that go to Tijuana can see how they live we only see it on RUclips
HP Drain- my family is from that little town. and I kinda grown-up there too and learn how to be a cowboy there bc my family have a big farm right next to the Border.
I guess you need to look into the history of the town it seems like it had all its amenities and everyone just packed up and left something's not right with that it was either government funding in Mexico right or they were forced to move was it a pollutant or disease seems awfully odd that no one is around just folks exploring interesting
I know of only one abandoned border town. It is Josepha Ortiz de Dominguez more commonly known as 'Las Chepas.' It is located about 20 miles west of Palomas, Chihuahua which borders with Columbus, New Mexico. Las Chepas was a farm village of agro workers who worked the fields across the old barbed wire fence in New Mexico. This set of pictures and video? I saw one comment that it is Agua Prieta. That border town is quite a busy place. Maybe these pictures are a neighborhood of Agua Prieta. It would be nice to know exactly.
I love Mexico. I visited many small towns motorcycling the Baja Penninsula in the 1970s as a teenager. It is a shame it is not safe now. I get differing opinions on whether the danger is overstated.
Stay safe on your trips over the border. I'd hate for you to be kidnapped by a Mexican urbex cartel and be forced to make content for an inferior video sharing and social network site.
Hey you shouldn't use that discriminatory music for your videos, i like your videos but the music in this video really offend me. Ther's some good music in mariachi maybe you should use those songs and stop using ugly and discriminatory music.
I think he just messed up a little , Antonio Molina was a Spanish singer and actor, not mexican at all. And yes that is not mariachi. But I don't think it's discriminatory music...
This is like when Mexican people get angry when associated with Mexican food. But in any border town it's tacos tacos tacos tacos tacos and maybe a red lobster
6655321 : : : : I have looked left and right, up and down on the internet and I cannot substantiate that this song is sung by Antonio Molina. But I can find many songs on youtube that substantiate that THIS is mariachi music ! !
Nice song. I would find it offensive if they had used "Cielito Lindo" or "La Cucaracha" that are too often used by Gabachos in movies and television shows as representative of Mexican music.
Miguel De La Hoya : : : : : my wife tells me that this mariachi music was used in the 1960's Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, Porky Pig etc . , . . . cartoons

Wow! Thanks for share the music is very fitting sad was probably a really cool town at one time!
Wish this video was longer
yeah I think you're right I believe it should be longer so we can see all Tijuana only the people that go to Tijuana can see how they live we only see it on RUclips
Where's this? At about 0:49-0:52, that hill in the back looked like Cerro Gallardo, which is just east of Aqua Prieta. I'm from Douglas.
I believe there was another comment confirming that this was agua prieta.
I love the music he chose!
This is definitely one of the most mysterious things you've done. It's sad there isn't more info about this place.
HP Drain- my family is from that little town. and I kinda grown-up there too and learn how to be a cowboy there bc my family have a big farm right next to the Border.
they all left for the usa
there are completely neighborhoods like this because everyone left for the usa
This looks like my homeland. Which would be actually the real mexico
Some of this MUST be route 66.
Oh WOW ! there's one building in the video that looks like my late Uncle Rafael Benavides delapidated grocery store in Sebastian, Tx . . .
This looks like Vaughn... or parts of Las Cruces. Or a composite of both?
Yodelling is a unique talent. It's like singing in stereo.
mad max town!
What’s the song?
O.K., I'm keeping track. 1 yodelling cowboy, 1 yodelling mariachi band..........
Where is this at
I wish I could make a movie in this town
good artistic eye on ya
please can anyone tell me the name of this town in English. please.
Mysterious Kommando : : : : all the names of small towns in Mejico start with " Las " . . . . hope that helps . . . .

+Mark Gentile There was probably a border crossing there that closed and killed off the economy of the town.
What is the name of that border town???????

Why is Tweetie Pie such a big deal in Mexico? You see that all over the place down there.
Where is that border town????
This is on Agua Prieta, Sonora.
MrAbrudno don't listen to that guy that's not what the name of the town is called. That's Chihuahua that town I don't remember.

The Mexicans leave behind their beautiful cities
You meant towns?
