- A new chapter has begun and we've been showing you our daily life on our way towards new beginnings. Something we are incredibly excited to share with you, but we strongly believe life is about the journey not the destiny so thank you for coming along as we overland across America in our 4x4 Sprinter Winnebago Revel Adventure Van. Today we show you Vanlife in Oregon as we explore Bend, Oregon. The city was nice, but we didn't last long. We spend days in the middle of the National Forest completely alone. We hope you enjoy the shots from our Skidio 2 drone as Cynthia scopes out one of the most incredible camping places we've discovered in the Lower 48. Alaska is still in our hearts. Fun video. The burger looked superb. I’m not really a beer drinker, but I like trying new things...the beer sounded like it would be really tasty :). Yay ember got to play in the river...scratch behind her ears for me :) 7am coffee? Who gets up that late 😂 😂. Pretty country out there. I spent last week taking about 1000lbs generators and motors, and tracking down electrical gremlins. :). Looking forward to the next video. ❤️. Live confidently and peacefully.
I'm like you John. I like beer on really hot days or when I'm in the mood for something different but Jim loves his beer. That one was perfect for the moment because I'm not a cobbler fan either but it was the perfect combination! 7 am is all we could find and who sees the world that early? 😉. I'm learning that mornings are better, especially in hot weather. Electrical gremlin in generators. Oh. No. That sounds like things in nightmares to me. 😃

I loved the intro to this video. Not only did you have a respectable fire, but it’s the first time I’ve ever seen Cynthia use a hiking stick. The Revel bath time was fun to see. I love how they make the soap all the different colors to amuse us adults. One thing that I’ve often times wondered about is what attention gets paid to the top of the Revel? I didn’t see Jim climb up on top and scrub it down. Did he? The reason I ask is that it’s the top of the Revel that gets the most sunlight, and might suffer the most from exposure. It would seem to me that your solar panels would appreciate a good cleaning too.
I love the driving footage, looking out at Mt. Hood, and seeing the landscape through your awesome Dreamcatcher. I can’t imagine that on such an incredible adventure it had to work too hard to catch a bunch of negativity coming your way. Things look 100% Glass-Half-Full. The Elk Burgers at Deschutes Brewery look FANTASTIC! I have to agree with Jim on the removal of tomatoes though. In my humble opinion, tomatoes make great ketchup and spaghetti sauce, but not much else. 😃. Your comments about Ember having, “to be a dog” were spot on. She’s far more fish than she is dog. The thing I have yet to see is what she does when she’s in water with lots of fish. Does she think they are squeak-toys? Enquiring minds want to know. 😂. By the way, I love the American Typewriter Font subtitles! It’s old-school, but I love that font. Cynthia, the necklace you wore was a new one. At least I’ve never seen it before. Orange stone with a blue stone on either side. Any significance there? As a space geek, the first thing I thought of was it being Jupiter, but I doubt that’s what you saw in it. So I’m curious about it. It looks really cool. I see Jim switched back to the Under Armor hat from his K9 one. I have to admit that I don’t have much of a hat collection. Just one or two go-to’s.
By the way, I loved seeing Jim applying the Alaskan Kushtaka to the Revel! I’ve always joked that Sasquatch is my cousin, so I’d never have a problem being around them in the wild. They’re family! LOL.
Your commentary on trying to please others and not being you is spot-on. You and I have similar jobs, in that it’s all about customer relations and having to think ahead to please people and make their experience more enjoyable. It’s difficult for me to snap out of that mindset and return to focus on me. I’m happy that you’re better at it than I am. I did find it comical seeing the two bundles of firewood there when you have all of that Bull Pine around you. It burns rather sooty, but it does burn. Luckily they also tend to be rather sappy so getting it going isn’t difficult. It was great seeing you use your Magic Flames packets. There’s nothing quite like seeing the colors dance in the fire. I’m surprised the Almond Roca made it down there. I can’t seem to have that stuff survive more than a week around me. I was also surprised to see the letter there. If I knew your address where you are now, I’d send you more cool stuff. The breakfast you put together looked deliciously delightful. I love that the minimalist cooking setup in the Revel doesn’t limit you in the slightest. And for the record, I loved seeing Jim dancing by the fire!
The rope light makes another appearance! I remember when you got that thing in Hawaii (or used one like it there) and loved it. There’s something awesome about being able to light up a campsite. It’s festive. I loved seeing the campfire cooking in the cast iron. There’s nothing quite like it out there. From what I could see, it looked scrumptious, but then again, everything I’ve seen you two make is! When you reversed the steaming footage while cooking, it took my brain a second to register what was going on! LOL.

Hi Brian!! Great observation on the stick. I normally don't like walking sticks too much because I prefer to keep my hands as free as possible. But, I have to say, the further South we travel, the more often you will probably see a stick in my hands. 😳 Great question on the top of the van. It gets a lot of love but Jim isn't the one loving on it since he's afraid of heights. I wipe off the solar panels and clean off the debris. Further down the road, on of my dream modifications is a low profile AC and a roof deck I can comfortably stand on but that seems over the top (😂😂😂😂😂😂)As you could see, we loved being able to spread out, put the few things we consider special and important out. A blanket, our lights, work on editing and eat the Almond Roca I was saving for a special occasion. There was also somewhat of a role reversal in this video that we didn't pick up on until we were editing. It's funny because that's exactly what happens. We both get burnt out in our routine so without saying it we break up the chores. Except of course the pooper. Jim wouldn't ask me to do that, but it was interesting to watch unfold after we edited it. And with this battery upgrade? The instant pot inspirations are ENDLESS! 😂😂. Oh, and the only way I know how to transition from "people" mode to "me" mode is through ritual. I absolutely have to go through a routine to find inner peace again. Like you, not disliking people, just protecting my energy. Have a wonderful and relaxing Monday evening.
Cynthia,Jim, and Ember all in your element. So creative and peaceful. So, what did I learn today....that I thoroughly enjoy each and every frame of the videos you two make. Your story telling and camera work are fantastic. I know you two are putting in a ton of work to put these together, so I so appreciate that you are sharing with all of us. Oregon looks like a great State for outdoor adventures and Ember is truly loving the extra room. I just got my new girl a week ago Thursday. Saje is a 5 year old female Chocolate Lab that was retired from a breeder and they were looking for her forever home. I was blessed they picked mine, as she has been so good. This brought back memories from just thinking about Bend, OR. We lived there from April 1990 to June 1994, so of course it has changed beyond recognition! But we had some good memories there. We used to go out exploring every weekend into the Deschutes National Forest and drive around checking out all the little towns around Bend too. We wanted to buy property in a tiny (at that time anyway, as I have no idea if it is even still there!) place called Troy, OR - we actually were checking out a place where the only way to get to the property was to fly in, or packhorse in. But we really couldn't afford the place so we gave up on that dream. Dreams of the young! We were in our middle 30's. Y'all keep it up and have fun but stay safe. God be with you.

Great observation James. I'm a nervous wreck when we're driving through interstates and feel at peace when we find a place to unwind. 😁 Jim certainly needs a beard trim but according to him he's "Growing it out" so they can shape it better when it comes time. I'm not sure it works that way ? 💁🏻♀️. 😂. I cook and do all kinds of other stuff but it's more along the lines of Jim rarely picks up a camera. I"m usually incredibly discreet about my filming and really dislike holding the camera on ourselves and talking. It's been a struggle for me since we started this channel.
The van has been great! We just finished our 2 year review of it. We've started the review and stopped it three times now because we get caught up in having fun! 😂😂😂. It really has been a ton of fun. Thanks keeping our back seat warm and your love and support. xo

Enjoyed your latest venture. I just made it back to Andover, MA after leaving Mesa, AZ 5 days ago. My trip was quick and uneventful and I enjoyed all of it but the last 5 hours as I made it back through NYC which was just forever traffic. Now I'm in the process of settling in back home. My 21 Revel is doing great with no issues but like your Revel it needs a bath and a bit of a cleaning inside.

loved what we saw when in Oregon we loved the ocean people didnt like us because we took the curbs slow and held up traffic in our camper got alot of middle fingers hahaha we loved the Redwoods in upper California too. I miss the pine smells of the forest there in Washington Oregon peninsula. Hope all is well with you guys alots been happening here and told a little bit in a video love the blue flames gotta get some of that.. and almond roca????? you so teasin lol thats my fav... hope to meetup some day safe travels
