  • @freundlichermensch7540
    @freundlichermensch7540 Год назад +17

When you get in that hobby you really start collecting fragrances, but there are never enough occasions to wear them all. Sure some fragrances are great to smell, but you know that you will reach out to other fragrances to wear. And at some point your scents are getting redundant, you will have multiple scents for similar situations.
In addition to that it gets harder when you watch tons to fragrance content, due to the mere exposure effect, you think you need more. Even though objectively you have more than enough. 😂

I like that format and kind of video, just many of the frags you listed this time are very muched liked and used by me 😁
    What I regret buying are
    - almost every scent that I bought as an cheaper alternative for something I already own, using the original all the time
    - 100ml bottles of very edgy/ dpecial scents like Mandarine Basilisque (very feminine leaning and just for hot summer days) or By the Fireplace (only few occations fit for that), I will never get through them
    - The Armafs I own, they all have some kind of synthetic smell I cannot stand
    - The too-many flankers of YSL Homme, they are so close to each other, so some just catch dust
    - Dior Sauvage and YSL Y EdP because those are "1for all" scents but I own so many scents that for each situation I have other ones that fit better for the situation so I grab them and the super-versatiles ones are left on the shelf

Could i pull of moutache edp as a 20 year old, decently put together (more into streetwear tho) student or is it too grown up. I think it smells great, amazing for that matter, but i don’t know if it would suit me well. The past year my signature has been allure homme sport, now i want something that is a bit more sophisticated and sweeter that would work just as well for a date/night out as it would for a daily scent and moustace seems and smells like a good choice to me. My two fragrance regrets are Versace Eros Parfum and The Most Wanted Parfum. I bought Eros Parfum with the intent of getting a more mature version of the DNA but i couldn't tell it apart from the EDT besides the more citrusy opening. 100% agreed. I regret buying Lattafa Asad. Everybody hypes it but I'm gonna sell it. It's extremely spicy, rough. In fact in the air it smells pretty good, but very different from the upclose sniff. In the air it has a slightly dry luxurious shaving foam smell - reminds me of Al Haramain LaVenture Knight (which smells more juicy showergelly). The problem is when you wear Asad you smell more its upclose character which is little irritating for me. When dried down it becomes nicer, closer to its "in the air" character. The good point is the great longevity, the bad point is that you'll get noseblind to it. It's a good scent for the people around you and little annoying for the wearer.

I say it like this: i don't regret to have bought them, mas i will never purchase them again. They are the following:
    - Prada L' Homme (good, clean, like a Dove shower gel, but too much powdery for my taste)
    - Armani Stronger With You (too much boozyness going on. Over time it became tiring)
    - D&G The One EDP (doesn't last long)
    - PR Invictus Victory (annoying)
    - Missoni Wave (bought it for the hype aswell, really annoying over time, it gives headaches)
    - Nautica Voyage (i was hyped up over this one because of Jeremy, its a cucumber fragrance, not that special at all)
    - Azzaro Wanted (i really like this one, but sadly doesn't last long, probably reformulated over the years)
    - PR Invictus (same as above)

Get a vintage bottle of L’instant de Guerlain edt if you want better performance. I have a 2004 bottle and love it much more than the Edp. The edt has more complexity with the increased citrus, citrus and powdery element than the edp. What’s funny is I own a bottle of the edp and I regret purchasing it so it’s funny how we both have the same regret but for the opposite fragrance lol!

I don’t worry about longevity or sillage (especially with 01 and 02 in my arsenal). Just spray more initially or reapply during the wearing. Does it smell really good? Simply smelling good isn’t enough, its got to standout. Is it unique or different (or unique and different enough) from the other fragrances I own and use frequently? Do I think it would fit into my rotation and could I see myself reaching for it often?
I regret buying clones in the past and will not buy them in the future. Yes, the originals (especially niche) are expensive, but the originals are better. Dare I say … Aventus (even reformulated) is better than every clone on the market. Expensive? … very. Worth the price difference? … only you can make that decision.

Banana Republic Metal Rain. Smells good for the opening but I get nothing from the dry down. Sad really because the others actually have some performance. Dark Cherry & Amber and Tobacco & Tonka Bean work really well for their rack store price. I get about an 5-8 hours on those and Black Walnut Legend lasts about 5-6 hours but at least smells different from Explorer. Metal Rain is lasts less time than my old Jimmy Choo bottle.

Nautica Voyage, Polo Deep Blue EDP, Montblanc Individuel. The way you feel about Prada L'homme is how I feel about Individuel. It just is a fragrance that I feel has no real fit for when I would want to wear it.

I think my biggest purchase regret would be Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme. This weird seaweed scent that isn't really fresh enough to be worn as a summer day fragrance but not really sweet or intimate enough for dates or cold nights. Just a strange fragrance for me.

You should always try before you buy. Prada L'Homme too floral or not masculine enough is just down to Omar. But if you don't like it, then don't buy it, don't wear it. No one is forcing you.
Sometimes I wish I could have gotten L'Instance EdP, but I got the EdT on a 50% discount with the EdP being sold out during covid. On my skin the EdT lasts way, way longer. The cacao can even linger through the night.
For some fragrances I wish I'd gotten the EdP instead of the EdT, but that can easily be solved after emptying the bottle. No regrets. I've also bought a couple on 75%-80% discounts that I don't think I'll fully empty myself. I view those as buying a larger sample and getting a full bottle for free. If I free fully done with any of those, I'll just pass them on to someone who'd appreciate it.
I have some which are more suited for occasions that don't occur that often. Notably extremely hot days. We don't have that many, but it really fluctuates each year. Overal trend is more hot days. Of course. Sometimes I try those fragrances in colder days and noticing the difference makes me glad I bought them.

I have a afew cheapies that I bought that are ok but I know I probably won't wear them. Top of the list are the 2 new Faconnable colognes Riviera and Regatta. I was a fan of their older 2 1st.colognes made so I blind bought the others which were just ok. So I blind bought hoping they be decent and sumthin unique bcuz its not a popular brand and I'm always being asked what's that I'm wearing cuz it smells good whenever I wear the 1st.2 especially Stripe. These new ones are basically like any other summer freshy that's a safe buy like any Tommy Bahamas u see at Marshall's or TJ Maxx. If u see these and lookin to buy a decent summer scent these will be ok to buy at $15-$20.

Impact Intense definitely smells more synthetic than Layton but I prefer its smell lol, Impact Intense is also easier to wear than Layton I feel. Anyway it's not all that close to me, I'd go for Black in White or Detour Noir if I wanted something closer to Layton (but Impact Intense smells better to me so I'll take that over any of the Layton clones too)

There once was a man named Bob, who was always trying to be unique among his friends. He was constantly on the lookout for new and interesting things to do and wear that would set him apart from the crowd.
One day, while browsing the perfume section of a department store, Bob spotted a bottle of Dior Savauge. "Ah-ha!" he thought to himself. "This is just what I need to stand out from the pack!"
Bob quickly purchased the fragrance, eager to show it off to his friends. But when he arrived at the next social gathering, he was disappointed to find that every single one of his friends was also wearing Dior Savauge.
"What the heck?" Bob exclaimed. "I thought I was being unique by wearing this fragrance, but it turns out that everyone else is doing the same thing!"
Feeling defeated, Bob threw his bottle of Dior Savauge in the trash and decided to never try to be unique again. What's the point if you just end up smelling like the rest of your friends? Just kidding! 🤣 Bob started watching RUclips fragrance videos and spent hundreds of dollars on cologne he only wore twice a year.
