The Providnece Steamroller returned as a ninor league team in the very early 1960's whose games were broadcast on WPAW: Am 55, now a Relavant Radio Catholic relitious station. This team gave us the famous Nick Buonaconti of the Miami Dolphins. They played in that leagues cdhampionship in c1962, played indoors. I heard the game myself
The Hartford Dark Blues were a founding member of the National League before moving from Hartford to Brooklyn and renaming themselves the Brooklyn Hartfords. And in a more well known story, the Spirit of St. Louis basketball team played only a total of ten seasons in three different cities before the ABA merged with the NBA. In lieu of being asked to join the NBA, they made an agreement for 1/7 of the television revenue from the surviving ABA teams which turned out to be a small fortune once the 80s rolled around. They receive a smaller portion now as part of a partial buyout, but as a result of the initial deal they have the greatest income to expense ratio of any team in the sports world.

Also remember that the staff at mental floss get mad when you don't respect people's pronouns yet they completely ignore the fact that American Indians identify as American Indians. Native American is not a term that they identify with nor is it one that they are academically referred to as. Is strange to me that the people who demand that you refer to someone as a woman if they request to be are the same group of people who are requested to refer to a group of individuals as Indians and they say no we're going to call you native Americans.
It seems to me like this is yet another comment where the commenter tries to inject their, "anti-woke' worldview into it. Indeed without seeing the hypocrisy, even as they excoriate others for the very same, they will speak unbidden for a whole group of people as though they were a monolith and deliver a verdict, unbidden, on their affairs as though they had any standing so to do, or that their proclamation is anything beyond a funtionally null flattening of the argument.
