Unleashing her vocals upon Germany. Her hit single Fire is a phenomena and her second solo single Storm is going to be released in a couple days. Floor is the best female vocalist on earth. ❤💜💖
And look for her cover of Pocahontas' "Colors of the Wind", "Oh mio Bambino Caro" (opera aria) and Celine Dion/Heart's "Alone"....she also NAILS those 3 songs, showing us she is simply one of the best and most versatile singers in the industry, because she can do pop, rock, metal and opera.....People comparing her with Tarja and saying Tarja is so much better have clearly not watched all these videos where she nails three different genres. Floor is on a league of her own, period.
Personally I prefer Floor***. . I'm a big heart fan and have been for many years, Celine Dions cover of ALone just do so bad, nobody sing Alone like Ann Wilson. I do believe floor has nailed it when she was on the but The Nightwish cruise

Celine Dion is an overrated diva, she has a very nasal tone that is hard to tolerate. Just listen to Floor's cover of Alone in After Forever and Celine's cover of the same song. No contest there, Celine sounds terrible. However with this cover of "Hurt" I prefer Xtina's original version. Floor simplified the melisma runs towards the end a bit too much. Floor has much more power than Xtina however Xtina has more vocal agility, it is usually just a trade-off.
I don't know why people say there is no other singer like Christina (with power in her voice and all ) when this is not true at all ! Floor just proved it !
It's really interesting to hear you sing Christina Aguilera! She also sings in a very powerful and emotional way, but sort of different. She has a lot of soul/blues in her voice, does a lot of those "oooh" up and down if you know what I mean =) For me personally singing her is a challenge, because I'm more of a rock and classical singer, I don't have that fluidness naturally. My voice is more similar to yours, like "straight forward". You did an amazing cover! Thank you so much for charing!
Cristina is incredible, but Floor is incredible and impeccable, He acts freely in musical areas outside his Comfort zone, his versatility meets the size of his talent, true Don of God, Floor jansen.
Yeah, I watched this then I watched Christina's video, you can feel Christina's voice wearing out as the song progresses, Floor just does it all so easily, it's incredible.
Hitting the high notes is not an issue with this song. Floor can hit high notes more powerfully than Xtina especially if it is a belted note (Xtina strains above belted C#5). However in this cover Floor simplified the melisma runs towards the end. For those of you who don't know, melisma is stretching a syllable to multiple notes in rapid succcession typically used by R&B and soul singers. So in that sense Floor actually sang a slightly simplified version of this song it was not better than Xtina's live version.

Better than her GaGa cover and thought the sound was a bit 'tinny' but maybe video cam sound not that good or hall accoustics are naff whatever she did a great job. Band didn't seem that great and the drums were annoyingly overly intrusive. Anyone know the reason for this like was it a charity gig or something?

Just as symphonic metal is sung with lyrical voice, the pop style of this song implies that she has to belt out with very powerful voice some notes, but they're perfectly done.

The "straining" is called inflection. It's meant to show deeper emotion. The song is meant to be sad. If you don't add the inflection you're not doing the song any justice.
