Glad that you like the little houses and the little tree all will work together. I have also made tall house and a tall tree and they will work with the little houses and trees also. Just have some fun making them and they are a great way to use up scraps.
I really like this piecing method using freezer paper. It makes much better sense...no picking out little pieces of paper down the line, plus it can be used several times!! Thank you for the video 😊👍💕
What a great method! I was able to follow the tutorial easily and after that it was very intuitive. Each new block, I was able to assemble it easy and I love the reusability of the paper pattern! Thank you!
I am so grateful for your video. I’ve always been scared of paper piecing. But your video makes me think I can do it. Also thank you so much for the free patterns. YOU ARE AMAZING! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Thank you so much for your compliment. Paper piecing is not hard once you get it. The little houses are really fun and they are a great pattern to start paper piecing with. You can do this technique with any paper piecing pattern. Happy sewing
Thank you for a wonderful tutorial and for this free, adorable little house pattern. Now to find your video on printing on freezer paper--what a great method. 😃👋
I’ve been interested in paper piecing and this video is great! I think I’ll make some little houses for a table runner. These instructions are very clear.
I never understood paper piecing until now. I couldn't understand why people enjoyed it so much. You changed all of that for me. I'm off to see if I have some freezer paper. Thank you so much
@@MadMoodyQuiltingFabrics Found it - thanks. 1 question about the ruler. On line, in various places, I find the add a quarter rulers, but can't tell if they have the ridge you reference. Where should I get the ruler that you have?
What a clever method! No wastebof paper and you can print your paper in color so that you won’t make a mistake during the process. With this method, you have more the feeling of having the final block in hands in stead of a stranger mix paper/fabric. I will definitely give it a go for my next project! 👍🏻🫶🏻
When I saw this method I thought the same thing. That is way I had to share it. The color is for the different sections. You still have to go by the numbers. The colors do help with seeing the pattern a bit better. I am glad that you will give this a try.
Those are so cute. This is the 2nd time I’ve seen a paper piecing done with waxed paper. I had no idea. I hate using the paper that you sew on and then rip it off, takes times, and not all of it comes off that easily. Thank you so much, great tutorial.
Thanks for this tutorial. My biggest problem is finding freezer paper in my area. This looks addicting . Love the idea of using the paper pattern over and over.
New subscriber because of this video. Thank you for sharing this unique method as it does seem to make a lot of sense to me as opposed to the traditional method!
That was my thoughts exactly also, you could use the papers more than once by using a washable glue to temporarily glue the fabric to the paper so things will not move.
You are welcome, there are more house patterns then the one in the video. Please feel free to download them from my website madmoodyquiltingfabrics.com/collections/free-patterns
I love the idea of paper pieces. I have done a little but picking out the paper is a pain. This rocks and I love the houses. I'm adding it to my list. Thank you!
Just found your video. First time I've ever wanted to attempt paper piecing again. Always disliked the tear off backing. This totally made sense to me and using the freezer paper to print the pattern? Thumbs up! Ordered from Amazon today. Winter-Woodsy mini quilt to create during winter months 2024. Thanks for the free downloaded patterns. I downloaded the trees too. ❤
Well, that technique is amazing! Nice to see you have a RUclips channel. I'm getting back into quilting after many years of doing other things. I can't wait to jump in the quilting pool again.

I enjoyed the video and like the idea of not sewing into the paper... i thought I was going to have to copy the pattern a gazillion times... Thanks again.
I am glad you enjoyed. Just remember that one freezer paper pattern will do about four or maybe five if you are careful with the ironing. And when it stops sticking you can use a little glue from a glue stick to make it stick long enough to get the house made. Happy little house making

I love my Dritz easy hem for this. I had it for 30 years before redeploying for paper piecing. Thinner straighter stronge. Edge stitch foot is essential and add a quarter ruler. Great demo.
Thank you for the free pattern. I am learning how to do paper piecing using Freezer paper. I was looking at your other patterns to purchase. Are these all made with freezer paper technique? Thank you
I LOVE this way. But, I am just getting started with paper piecing, so, I wish you would have gone just a little slower. Thank you so much for the free pattern!
Thank you for showing this. But I have a question: how can it still be a 1/2 inch seam, if you stitch on it? Would this method not make the picture larger than planned? How can a stitch in the ditch foot help with this? Will it not gather the fabric underneath the foot? I need to experiment. Thank you for.
The pattern is finished size. The lines on the pattern are the stitching line you fold the paper on those lines and you will use an add 1/4 inch ruler to add your seam allowances. Yes that is correct once the freezer paper is not sticky any more you can use water solvable glue just a little. My favorite glue stick is sewline glue pen with the refills
Have recently been looking into paper piecing and came across your video. Very interesting. To start, do you draw the house onto the freezer paper or is there another method of making the template?
You said to use a water resistant glue, if your wax on the freezer paper doesn't stick, I would think you want a water soluble glue so you can get it off, not a water resistant since that would be more permanent. From how I understand glues.
Can u just reapply a new piece of freezer paper instead of using glue stick? I would think the glue stick might discolor the fabric since it's not washed out before machine quilting or even RUIN the needles sewing & machine quilting. You can reprint your pattern as many times as you need if you do not what to use a glue stick then you will be using more freezer paper. When I use a glue stick the brand I use is sewline it will not yellow or discolor your fabric and it will wash out with water.
