Three things this game needs...
(1) Realistic gore effects -- weapons, explosions, fire, etc.should affect human bodies and parts thereof the way they would in real life... An exploding grenade should not dismember people, but a .50-cal machine gun should do some gruesome stuff. Explosive cannon rounds should do what they are supposed to do to human flesh. Effects should occur whether it's a living character or a corpse.
(2) Building interiors populated with whatever would normally be in them -- furniture, decor, appliances, etc. The buildings should contain stuff that one would expect to see in them, depending on the nature/use of the structure. Homes, shops, cafes, barns, etc. should not be sterile, empty spaces.
(3) Fully destructible environments that react authentically to damage inflicted -- Both the composition of the thing being damaged and the nature of the thing that's damaging it should affect what happens. Wood, metal, brick, concrete, etc. all react differently to things, and different types of weapons would affect them all in different ways. Loose items should react to impacts, explosions, etc. Some walls will stop pistol rounds but will be easily penetrated by rifle rounds. Tree trunks react differently to different weapons. Small shacks and sheds should be easily blown apart by heavier weapons and should not stop a tank from driving right through it. Smaller items within and around buildings should be fully destructible too.
Some other stuff that would add to the immersion are more realistic smoke behavior, occasional livestock and wildlife where appropriate, etc.
Post Scriptum has always been the better of the two games for me. And I’m so glad it’s back. The name change while sad is understandable and I hope it can really start to grow now. I just hope the original plan of adding an Italian faction and an Albanian map next still happens.
Lol yeah change into Squad maybe. I don’t think you all know what you’re asking for. It was fun while it lasted, but this is the beginning of the end of what we know and love about post Scriptum.
I just don't see how it can be revived, hell let loose already has more updates and a bigger playerbase

Pacific Theatre next please. Maybe Burma or some other battle. Doens't have to be Iwo Jima again. This would be a huge step ahead of HLL.

As a hell let loose player, Im glad Post Scriptum is coming back! I only brought Hell Let Loose 4 years ago because the playerbase was higher. I'd much rather play Post Scriptum because of the realism if its being revived 👍
Now we need Beyond the Wire, can call it "Squad 1" (Battlefield 1 reference) or "Squad 14" or "Squad 18", idk
Post Scriptum has always been the more immersive game for me. HLL players are more likely to go off to do their own thing and it doesn’t really matter in the long run. Post Scriptum actually makes teamwork seems rewarding and necessary.

Yeah HLL there isn't even a reason to play medic with a 20 second revive. Die and just spawn back in. Also easy to solo in HLL.
I agree with you. I have a lot of hours on PS and I have seen how important teamwork is in that game. But when I play HLL I feel like I’m playing alone an not so much with my squad or team. It doesn’t feel like a team effort there aren’t as many people communicating on HLL as in PS in my experience

I think one thing that would really help with the community if we had more RUclipsrs uploading shorts/reels. I always see my suggestions flooded with reels and shorts of games I’ve never played and they spark interest in that game. Not a whole lot of post Scriptum content creators out there at the moment and I think that can change

Yeah I think your right! I just try to keep spreading the message to fellow pc gamers how good it is. I told my brothers friend & he bought it and is more addicted to it than I am! lol I'm like anyone else, I don't want to dish my hard earned money out on a crap game I won't play 3 months from now... even if its just 30 bucks but THIS, this is so worth it! Think of how much a night at the movies cost? I'd have like 5 insane clips right now if I recorded my gameplay on Squad44 and I got it like a week ago. So fun!
Bought and choose this game around 3 years ago after comparing this to Hell let loose. Stop playing regularly just after 1 year because the only active servers are 1 or 2 and not always full. Tried Hell let loose when it comes in the PS plus around last year and not even a single match completed because I didn’t like the “arcade-ish” feeling. And finally just reinstalled this game 4 days ago and never skip playing everyday. Can’t wait for the upcoming updates hoping with major improvements and also new players join in 😄

@@chaboinas What if you dont like hardcore milsim? People saying one is better than the other dont understand they are two mostly different games. One is like a 10k race and the other is like a marathon and I wouldnt go out and run a marathon everyday.
I play both and the biggest problem in HLL is that the game is growing fast with new players that are treating it like its another Battlefield game when its completely different. Especially this last month after the free weekend. I keep having matches where there are no players on the defense, whether on my team or the enemies. What happens is that one side always completely dominates the other or front suddenly collapses to your last point.
youre right!;) Thats just my opinion. I have to say that still love HLL, but Squad 44 fits better with my playstyle. I think is because i love the "Squad" mechanics (not 44) that´s is difficult to comeback from that.But what you said is on point. @@whatever7338

After playing a few games last night, I enjoyed every bit of the game and not to mention the friendly community.
Hopefully it gets more recognition and more players, i got it last week and there was only 2 servers full

As much as i love these ww2 shooters i cant get myself to buy these "modern" ones simply because no bot support aka offline mode. I need that guarantee that i get to play the game whenever and not at mercy of planned obsolescence. Still rocking red orchestra 2 and still loving it.

I didn't have a good enough computer when Post Scriptum first came out. Then when I had, everybody said it was dead. I think it's for me to start playing.
I'm gonna wait a little bit to see if they'll add the infantry overhaul update to post scriptum too.

I've never played Post Scriptum but it always seemed like the animations were a lot less stiff and clunky then HLL. Might give it a try sometime

The sound design in this game is godly
on the other hand, the visual design is really bad. The contrast, lighting effects and poor shadows make it hard to see straight on any of the maps.

As a former tanker enjoyer from red orchestra 2 i really love PS tank gameplay.
I think it is interesting to say also that PS is coming home. He was back in the days the son of Squad.. Now he is back home

What’s the graphics and animations like? A big plus for me is HLL looks insanely good at times
Explosions in Squad 44 are epic, they are way better than HLL.
Graphics in general are good, however some maps are rather bland and feel a little less lived in than HLL. The biggest thing I think S44 does better than HLL with graphics is distance rendering, HLL looks absolute trash in the distance with terrible LOD popping and blurry textures. This isn't a thing in S44. Graphics can vary a lot depending on the map, some of the maps look very outdated while others are just awesome. All the effects, explosions, smoke etc are better in S44 and for that reason alone you get some really immersive experiences that will really blow you away.
There isn't as much eye candy in S44, for example most of the buildings have no interior furniture etc, but the positive is that you can enter almost every single building. Some maps the interiors are filled out but most of them are just empty rooms, and many buildings have shared textures and lack decals / details.
Character animations are probably not as refined but I feel like they are more realistic / natural looking. In S44 you don't climb, jump, lay down , crouch etc as fast so everything just seems a bit more natural. Weapons animations and handling is awesome.
post scriptum is better I think with vfx; they’re not just pngs that rotate with you sometimes, they’re actually clouds that spawn chunks of whatever material they hit, and shrapnel will fly and bounce, I got wounded around a small corner because the explosion hit a wall in the alleyway
Hll beats it out in graphics but squad44 destroys hll there’s no stupid grind for weapons there’s more variety in tanks weapons and maps there’s more factions but one thing I’ll give hll is that it has the Russians but other than that hll worse in every way unless you prefer a more arcadey type of realistic shooter
HLL has edge in terrain graphics but it doesnt look at distance. PS has edge in longer distance engagements. Animations too are slightly better in PS but not so much. In sounds there isnt even comparison. PS wipes the floor

What Offworld Industries really should do is create a single launcher for 3 (or more) variants all built off the Squad foundation. Similar to how Wargaming did with World of tanks, planes and warships. One launcher and you can select which game you want to play (if you've purchased them).
1. Squad (modern)
2. Squad 44 (WWII)
3. Squad 17 (WWI)
4. Squad Vietnam
5. Squad Civil War
Different games all using the same platform, foundation and launcher. All updateable by the same development team.
Instead of squad civil war, it'd be sick if we got a Korean War game

I feel like the game would be much more popular if they ported it to modern consoles like he’ll let loose did, maybe optional cross play cuz fighting keyboard and mouse on this game would not be easy, but maybe at least just porting it to ps5 at least
Honestly I prefer Hell Let Loose but I’m happy to see PS back and hope it runs strong. It’s only a good thing to have options.

Renaming PS, sure. It will help. It's just "Squad 44" sounds like a mod rather than a standalone game (that PS is in my eyes).
I seriously hope the remove the ridiculous 'mad minute' Enfield animation. Troops would enter combat with around 50 rounds for 24 hours. There is no historical evidence of the mad minute firing style used in combat. To have it as the default animation for the No.4 is insane and unrealistic, for a game which proports to be an accuracy simulation (the pun being you cannot be accurate firing your rifle like this)
Are they going to fix the bland graphics and the empty rooms?
They need to make the shooting similar to squad with better sight picture better weapon control better minimap and so on . They need to make post scriptum a real Squad 44 and not only change the name
Console release in the future possible?
As much as it hurts people or they don’t think it’s should happen, Squad 44 needs to go into console if it wants a future. There’s thousands of people who would love this game on console, it’s an opportunity they need to take or otherwise HLL will always win in sales and future games.
If i buy Post Scriptum off a site like G2A, will i still get Squad 44?

Not gong to be hard to beat Hell Let Loose. Everyone pretends the dev team is tiny and is overworked, but they had enough staff to do lay offs, have sexual abuse cases in the offices, and get in trouble for not paying their staff correctly.
Hell Let Loose updates extremely slowly, when it does update, they don't add much - the maps also run like shit due to optimisation. (3060ti getting 12-15 fps randomly when 120+ is standard)
The game is barely cinematic, there are only two modes that get played, the classes are so barebones, and the customization leaves so much to be desired. I want this game to take over.

I hope it will come out for console and have better service… when I play hell let loose I always join less 25 players only once I had a good game that had 100 in total.

I always manage to easily find full games on Europe and US East with crossplay on, on console.

Squad 44 is way better, tank play is way better, more colors, more contrast, more grass, rolling hills, better lighting etc... buildings are worse and not all maps have the same quality. BUT SQ44 is real, it's back and it's waaaaaaaaaaay better than HLL.

I haven't played HLL but i bought Squad44 a couple weeks ago. This game will have you giggling like a schoolgirl. I remember watching my friend play HLL on their xbox and looked like a rocket barrage F*ckFest. Squad44 is literally play band of brothers and saving Private Ryan in a video game. Sound effects just off the charts. Easy to hide in a bush and take out a entire Squad of Kruats. Especially on a night map. Come join the fight!
I was getting ready to by this game and give it a try after the buggy mess i encountered when I first played. And then i saw that OWI just had massive layoffs and I think im saving my money lmao

Almost 2 years and a half ago I tried PS and test drove it around and came to the conclusion that while a technical marvel, support was poor at best (I actually made a dummy on the fire range that moved- a german soldier would stand, run then go prone randomly just for giggles) and it would (sadly) be better to wait for it to lose player-base before acquiring as a property so it could be properly built upon going forward. At least I'm glad that maybe somebody I sent my recommendation was sent to was taken to heart by somebody :D

Yeah because you are a COD player at heart that needs a quick dopamine fix. The normal game Squad is kinda a big running simulator but Squad44 is action packed. Maybe spend a little more time observing the hostile area rather than running right through it like Forrest Gump, Patience is a virtue. Play with your team.

good, now it will be a dead game with a new name. i say this seriously because scriptum players are a weird bunch. but they're very unreliable. for all the praise scriptum has gotten, the players themselves cant be bothered to play it much. with just an announcement that OWI took over, player numbers went up (with no new content), so what gives? where were all those players for the last 2 years?
i fell this "revival" will go like beyond the wire . alot of interest at first, then the sq44/ps players will bail out again..

What you talking about bro I've been playing before the revival, and a thousand players jumped on because of an announcement. Why doesn't it have mass appeal you say? It's because it's the most realistic WW2 shooter ever. The skill ceiling is extremely high. No good team, no win. Stop being a contrarian.
not being a contrarian, by all definitions of a dead game, post scriptum was dead before the announcement. running on fumes. you're one of the hardcore players that stuck it out, good for you. i'm saying that even the players that "love" it, don't love it enough to play it often and let it go back down in player numbers.

I have been playing since 2018 and I haven't left like some players plus team 17 used their money to bully the dev team of postscriptum don't you find it strange that big name RUclipsers were playing the game when it came out and then when HLL was released all of them stopped playing for 3 years it's because they got paid to not play post anymore
i find that the actual post scriptum players , stopped playing it. that's what is sad. under 500 concurrent players for a long time is basically a dead game, for a game soooo many claim to love. i just find the ps crowd (not you) to be a really fickle bunch, meaning when things are not as they like , they'll bail out again.. @@mondaymurder23
Hll looks way better in every way. Sure the soundscape is better In post scrotum but the visuals are garbage to me. Not sure how people can compare the two.....
Graphics aren’t everything…
Litterally the only thing HLL has over PS is graphics, PS gunplay, sound design, weapon models and amount of content in PS puts HLL to shame and don't even get me started on the community half the SL's in HLL don't even use a mic.

They are both built on the same engine, graphics are essentially the same. HLL make better use of the engine when it comes to the way they use textures, decals, lighting etc but if you crank up the graphics on S44 it's as good if not better. A lot of people think HLL graphics are better because you have maps with destroyed building everywhere, and a lot of cluttered war debris so it's more impactful and just generally looks cool, and in comparison many S44 maps are set before those actions took place so they are a lot cleaner. So it's not that the graphics aren't as impressive the environments just kind of look bland or boring sometimes. Also I am pretty sure half the people playing S44 use DLSS for performance and it makes the game look atrocious, turn that shit off and the graphics are great. HLL also has a lot more of the highlights and exposure settings tweaked to make it look better than S44, you can simply load up NVIDIA filters and change the exposure, highlights, colour and temperature etc and this will then look great. There is a video on my channel where I show how good it looks after using NVIDIA filters to tweak. You might be surprised.
PS has better special effects. Explosions look better in PS
