I called the radio station to get the name of the song then drove around to every Sam Goody, Tower Records, and Wherehouse until I found it. I wouldn’t say Mos Def is the greatest MC, but he’s my favorite. His melodic flow coupled with sophisticated lyricism is elite.
That must have been some work because it's a DJ Honda featuring Mos Def song. One of the best joints but he has so many classics. The guy is so timeless and so hip hop. I love that one, the solo song he has on sound bombing 2 believe it's called Next Universe.
This segment heavily influenced my music taste as a kid. It was my first introduction to New York hip hop being from Indiana with no family members who listened to hip hop.
