His 17 year old brother directed this.
Is that a fact??? Crazy talented if it is!!!
whaaat is he actually only 17?!
Wow impressive
you are right, I know the two brothers. his name is Ramy. He is also very talented!
actually, ramy directed this when he was 16! which only makes it even more crazy
this song makes me feel like a misunderstood villain
lmao YEEEEEEEES
There's a name for that: Hades. And Tamino made a song about Hades & Persephone.
Yes me too it reminds me of an villain character called askaledd in an anime called vinland saga 🤣🤣❤️

This song is deep in a beautiful way.
He’s not the kind of artist who claims to have deep and depressive music at a point where it ruins the vibe.
No, Tamino knows how to make people feel emotions without overdoing and this is what I like.
YES
feel so blessed to have discovered this dude oml

Added to my depression playlist
Could you list it up for me?^^

@@mahdibenfekih87 Wow, didn´t expect that. Thanks a lot, mate. I randomly checked Aurora and it already blows me. I will definitely check it out!
It's on my " I wanna fucking kill myself" playlist as well haha
some people feel better when playing depressing music when they depressed themselves (im 1 of them )
Cigar is the second track from Tamino’s self-titled EP, and the third track from his EP “Habibi”.Tamino went to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam and saw a painting of a skeleton smoking a cigarette: Skull of a Skeleton with a Burning Cigarette. The image stuck with him, and he wrote a few lines, before coming up with a melody and finally the song. Cigar is not only about the painting, but it was its first inspiration.Tamino about the music video: “I then made a concept for a video about a year ago: I wanted to portray a dead man obtaining the chance to live again one last night. During his time alive he does whatever he pleases, just like when he was among the livings. Never would have thought that we would one day be able to realize the clip. And I’m so proud of my brother Ramy Moharam Fouad who directed it perfectly. And of course immensely grateful to everyone involved.”
That makes it even better.
When I first saw this clip it reminded me that pic of van Gogh... wow.... Just shocked
In the description box, there is a special thanks to Vincent Van Gogh... DUDEE
he surely gives the credit where it's due
👏 brilliant, this song means so much to me
I can't believe I haven't seen a single comment about what a beautiful woman Tamino made in this video, dang.
Was he the one sitting at the table?

The first time I heard habibi, I thought it was the best song in the world, then when I heard indigo night, I realised it was better. Now that I've heard this song, I just don't know anymore.
listen to persephone
habibi is still the best
exact same progression. then I listened to Verses and sobbed
Right ???! 😂😂😭
Habibi and indigo night are the songs that introduce me to his music and immediately fell in love with, but then i listen to the rest of the songd on the full album, and i just can't choose only 3 or 4 as my favorite
Lyrics
You, look at me now
With those hollow eye sockets and smile
And it seems all a lie
What they've told me so far
And you, show me that life
Isn't all about extending your time
No, it's the perfect time for a bottle of wine
And why, do I still care?
About all who might recall me
For everything dies, so does memory
And why, am I still surprised?
About all who pray their sins away
Aren't they too a part of this grand ballet?
When time occurs
Don't make it right
Don't make me right
It's me to decide
This or that side
This or that side
Death, suits you dear sir
Like a beautiful coat but then without all the fur
I wonder would it fit me?
What do you think I'd prefer?
You know some people'd rather not exist
They put a gun to the heart or a knife to the wrist
We ought to think they aren't smart
It could be something I missed
Right then, she kisses my skin
I don't know what this is or where to begin
This fills me up with bliss
Don't tell me this was a dream
And she, shows me that life
Isn't all about explaining your time
No, it's the perfect time to lay all night
When time occurs
Don't make it right
Don't make me right
It's me to decide
This or that side
I need your word
Leave it aside
Just don't make me right
It's me to decide
This or that side
This or that side
This or that side
You, look at me now
With that burning cigar hanging out of your mouth
And it seems all a lie
What they've told me so far
tamino is my best friend he has even a better personality than his beautiful music :) im so happy he can live his dreams! :')
UPDATE: WOW I DIDNT EXCPECT SO MANY LIKES, also TAMINO is sitting next to me right now and he says much love for everybody during these difficult times. Love from Arno and Tamino!!!!
Arno Peleman you're making me jealous
Make him my best friend too
Well, then he must be the nicest guy, bc his music is the absolutely best!
his music does not have to reflect his entire personality, but it is beautiful that a part of him can create this. Awesome.
That was the cutest comment I've ever seen.
The lyrics are so deep omg, such underrated song
PLEASE EXPLAIN IT TO ME, I'M NOT ENGLISH AND I CAN'T FUCKING UNDERSTAND THESE LYRICS I'M GOING MAD
@@Magicmonde139 ce n'est pas un problème de langue, c'est plutôt une question de vécu et de réflexion.
@@khaledffs3081 Tu veux pas essayer de m'expliquer ? :(
@@Magicmonde139 "And it seems all a lie, what they've told me so far
And you, show me that life isn't all about extending your time
No, it's the perfect time for a bottle of wine"
It's about people who tell you that you must study hard get into good university get a good job have wife and kids become rich etc... and by act of leaving kids you have legacy and it "extends your time" or your memory that you have lived on earth. But life is about more than extending your time . Life is about pleasure and comfort you take in quiet time you spend with good company and friends over a bottle of wine.
"Why do I still care about all who might recall me
For everything dies, so does memory"
We focus too much of what others think of us, mistakes we make embarassing moments feel like theyre the end of our existence like they have to change the course of our lives and like noone will ever forget let alone forgive our transgressions however writer says " everyone dies and so does memory" therefore we shouln't be so harsh with ourselves and mind what others say. In the end thats not whats important.
"And why, am I still surprised, about all who pray their sins away
Aren't they too a part of this grand ballet"
People fight over politics people fight over religion and opinions and despite religion being rotten to the core people still want to believe. And because these topics spark so much hate and agression the writer says " aren't they too a part of this grand ballet" he compares life to ballet performance where we're all just trying to live in best way we can , we all search for same things ... we arent that different you and i.
"When time occurs, don't make it right
Don't make me right, it's me to decide: this or that side"
When time comes to make a decision in life he doesn't want to be told whats right whats wrong he doesnt want people to change him to fit their perception of life , because it up to him to choose one side of himself or another. One way of being or another.
"Death, suits you dear sir
I wonder would it fit me? What do you think I'd prefer?
You know some people ’d rather not exist
They put a gun to the heart or a knife to the wrist"
Everyone at some point consider death , and they wonder if it wouldnt be better to die? for various reasons and because topic of death is so bewildering and such big part of our lives , because we cant figure it out alone he asks other people " what do you think id prefer?" after all we explain our existence by comparing it with others... Some people however choose to not exist. Sometimes pain for them gets too much. To some exitence brings so much suffering that the pain of a deep cut of a bullet to the heart doesn't feel like a sacrifice it feels like a release from a chokehold that their existence has become.
"We ought to think they aren’t smart
It could be something I missed"
We're told they are weak and that they are selfish. Or stupid because they had good life money family stability or whatnot. But writer says " it could be something i missed" Alot of people nowadays even though they are surrounded by people they feel lonely even though they live in abundance they find themselves lacking and drifting through life in calm despair, life gets too much for them. Because whats missing is overall satisfaction with life. If you are generally happy with where you're life is going small misfortunes arent that devastating but if you life in misery small misfortunes add up like tiny drops of water penetrating the rock until it cracks.
"Right then, she kisses my skin
I don’t know what this is or where to begin
This fills me up with bliss"
He doesnt speak of sex or satisfying your primal instinct. But rather a feeling of comunity of quiet asurance of another person being there if you ever needed them. The skin hunger we all feel being filled, the joy of silently holding someones hand of holding them in your arms and feeling their heartbeat close to ours. The words cant begin to describe what happens to us but it fills us up with bliss. Of being accepted although flawed as a whole body mind and insecurity.
"And she, shows me that life
Isn’t all about explaining your time
No, it’s the perfect time to lay all night"
And she the one who accepted him and is with him. Makes him see that when you strip your existence of ambition materialism when you're free from expectations of others and self-loathing you realise that in life for pure bliss you dont need large bank account a big house revelations and lavish vacation you dont need your mind to be in constant state of excitement or taking dopamine shots from instagram. Once you just look for peace devoid of ambition of explaining your existence and being scared to miss life , and running mentally running. You stop and when you lay next to eachother , feeling of togetherness fills you and finally you know there's nothing you'd change or do differently right then and theres noone youd rather be with or no other place youd rather be that peaceful moments like that make your whole life feel full like you just ate.
And you realize that perhaps all the people that you talked with so far
"And it seems all a lie, what they've told me so far"
Nastia thank you so much ☺️
your music is like a huge cuddle when one feels lonely, a voice that makes one feels like home, warm in a cocoon. Thank you
Who’s listening to this masterpiece in corona time
Edit: thanks for likes❤️❤️ tamino ily
Love
Let’s not compare him to Lana Del Rey. I love her, but let’s give respect to Tamino’s character. 🥀
And somehow I love Tamino's voice but think Lana sounds like she's trying to sound 70 years old
Oxzowachi Alt she’s not
No one is comparing them. They have very different sounds and style
they are absolutely nothing alike lmao wym
I think they're nothing alike, except for how their music kinda gets you high..lol, but other than that they're very different, i personally prefer tamino since his music offers emotions on a different level, since i discover his musi , other musicians just feel irrelevant..lol
his voice is angelic wtf
Literally one of the best songs I have ever heard and the video is just perfect too

first i didnt understand this song what was about. after i read interwiews and articles about him now i understand more clear. for this song he was affected by Van Gogh's skeleton painting, he was struggling about his identity and life path. then he wrote this beautiful song 💜
Biliyorsun bazı insanlar var olmamayı seçer
Kalplerine bir silah ya da bileklerine bir bıçak dayarlar...
Onların akıllı olmadığını düşünmemiz gerekir, kaçırdığım bir şey olabilir...
This melody; these words, come straight from a world of utopia, with imaginary scenes, imaginary friends, imaginary everything.
I can't get over how expressive the puppeteering is and how well the camera captures it. It turns this beaurtifully haunting song that I can't stop listening to into one I can't stop watching either.
Ethereal but tainted.
I can't stop.
Help.
HIS VOICE IS SO HEARTBREAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL
wow i just realized i’ve been listening to his songs since 2017, it’s been 5 years… still can’t get enough of him. yesterday i had the chance to see him live in istanbul. it was surreal, a whole other level. i still haven’t fully absorbed that he was real and standing in front of me.
@Miray I can only imagine how captivating it would be to hear him live.
Did he play this song at the concert you were at?
I'm thinking about going to his coming concert in Vienna and would be so blissed to hear this old one of his live.
Allah'ım sesi o kadar güzel ki dinledikçe huzurlu hissediyorum
It took me a minute, until I felt tears falling down my cheek. "It is me to decide", but I have clearly no idea what to do or choose. I pray it'll come clear to me one day. And that there'll be somebody I can share it all with.
Special thanks to... Vincent Van Gogh?

I feel like van gogh would've loved tamino's music - and probably this song!! "Sorrow" is the perfect picture to this song, or basically his relationship with Sien in general really
His songs are so timeless. I feel like I've known them forever yet every time I listen to them it feels like it's the first.

"Just don't make me right, it's me to decide: this or that side"
I heard it wrong for a long time but anyways. This part of the lyrics breaks my heart. Well, only reminds me of how it felt years ago when I was told to choose, more like a suggestion to prepare me. That, broke me. I like to hear it like this: 'they'll make me right, they'll make it right'.
