typically this weapon would be used by assault troops. medics would probably be given a revolver to defend themselves and their patients, or else nothing at all. Also this ammo would almost certainly kill you with a single shot (unless to legs and arms and such)

Not really, it’s more complicated than the Mondragon because of the magazine system, however the bolt itself is better because it doesn’t rely on the bolt handle to rotate. Still the mondragon’s bolt is better, and if the bolt action functionality was removed and the exterior track was removed, possibly using a spring loaded guide in its stead like the General Liu rifle then most of the reliability problems are solved.
