To answer your question(s) of the day. I do know him very well, I like him and I care. I was introduced to him in the very good first New Warriors series of the 90s by Fabian Nicieza and Mark Bagley. Back then, he was called Marvel Boy and he had been around before that series. Most importantly, he had a much different costume! We've waited so long to complete that New Warriors team (Nova, Firestar, Night Trasher, Speedball, Marvel Boy and Namorita) at least since 2018 if not longer, and they finally gave us the two missing original members, but in the wrong costumes!?! Why? To make us double dip? But knowing Hasbro, they might just consider the team complete and leave it at that. Why do I like the character? Because he was part of that team but also because he was kind of an "everyman" superhero, more normal and down to earth than usual. The fact he was supposed to become Vance Astro in the future, stuck in that suit, made him a bit tragic (before it was changed). Yo could relate to him because of his self-esteem issues. He also had a very interesting storyline related to him (and his mother) being abused by his father. His popularity probably peaked when he joined the Avengers with Firestar for a while. So in my opinion, an underrated character. It's not because a character is not that well known today or fell into obscurity in the last decade that he should never get made. So there's that, but as you reviewed, it's a disappointing figure. I won't be able to look at those tiny balls the same way again. ;-) I'm surprised you did not complain more about the legs. The knees seem wonky and the legs seem crooked. I don't hate the face, it's good enough for me. Thanks for the review.
yeah ... the character goes back to 1975 and was an avenger during the 90s. One of the few mutants to never be a part of an X team. He doesn't normally have white eyes either. He is a telekinetic, so the swirls they include in every character would've been nice
Not quite the outfit I wanted but he fills 2 slots. Completes my New Warriors Team, and makes my Avengers Team more accurate as I can now replace my crude custom making my 75 Avengers more accurate. I doubt I'll ever replace all of them.
I have to wonder if characters like this sell less, does Hasbro go "oh people don't wanna buy crappy figures made for cheap" or "guess we need to repaint Wolverine more". A well done and fun figure of a character I know nothing about will make me a fan of that character.
Same here. I like being introduced to characters I know nowt about. If they're done well. This has no effect pieces, an outdated body mould and articulation. So it's no thanks from me.
Sure, all the points you said in the video, but also, do people seriously still wonder why kids don't play with toys? Anthony is a Marvel guy and doesn't know who this is. What kid is going to know who Justice is? Even less than that, there is not a single kid in the world that will be attracted to this figure, take him out of the box, play with him, learn anything about him, and then become a lifelong Justice fan because of this toy. He doesn't come with any accessories that tell you anything about him, or what kind of a character he is. Does he fly? Is he fast or shoot energy beams, or is he bulletproof? My goodness. Figures like these are so uninspiring and do nothing to spark imagination or curiosity. Some of my favorite characters today are because of the toys I played with as a kid. I didn't know who they were then, but they looked cool in the aisle and they came with accessories that told me enough about them and their powers that my imagination would fill in the rest. So yeah, kids don't play with toys because we've completely lost that and give them this instead.
Also marvel legends used to come with comic books with them that gave you more insight on who the character was their moves/personality etc. It's a lost art imo
So Justice's dad didn't like that he was a mutant and Justice got hurt really bad on a warriors mission. His beat the crap out of him and Justice lashed out with his telekinetic powers and broke 98% of the bones in his Dad's body. He later died from his injuries.
The weirdest thing about this figure (and Namorita too from this wave) is that it's supposed to round out the ORIGINAL New Warriors line-up from the 90's, but uses modern designs where some characters weren't even on the team at the same time. So if you're a comicbook team-completionist sorta collector, you have no reason to get it either. It's like if you were collecting the original 5 X-men and they'd only released, I dunno, Jack Kirby Beast, John Byrne Cyclops and Krakoa era Jean. Why??? I don't understand what angle they're going for, it's like they're intentionally make peg-warmers. It doesn't even make sense as a cynical way to FOMO you into buying more figure, you're just gonna skip the WHOLE team if it's done like this. Hasbro, if you're gonna do obscure characters, at least have a plan for it that makes sense.
I have a complete new warriors run, I really want these characters on my shelf. The Kid Nova figure is tied to their online comic reading service... It is baffling that they are hoping you buy the less popular version of the character, then upgrade to what you really want. That worked at first, but now we know where this is heading.
There’s going to be some kind of money laundering setup, like “The Producers” plot or something. There’s just no excuse for so much aggressive mediocrity from a division of the company that’s supposed to be printing money.
I remember Justice from the Busiek/Perez Avengers run circa 1997-1998. He was the most boring thing in the book, so I guess Hasbro wanted to capture that spirit. Well done, Hasbro!
With these constant releases of F-list characters, they should rename the line to "Marvel Fellas," because a character like Justice is not a legend, he's just a fella.
What the hell! I was actually thinking of getting this figure, but now I won’t get it even at 6 dollars clearance. Thank you Anthony, you saved me 25 bucks. Keep doing what your doing, you have saved me a ton of money.
I first read the character in the 90’s when he and his then fiancé joined the re formed avengers after heroes reborn. They had a jubilee/shadowcat role and u really enjoyed therm. I have seen folks calling for him for years, but not this costume.
I think it's awesome that they made this character people seriously don't want to see characters that have never gotten figures before get figures? that's very strange. It might not be Mozart or Beethoven and it might not be the best figure ever made . But it always cool to get new characters is it not ? Lol like what the heck lol
They need a new body for these slimmer characters, the Sunfire body is one of the most goofiest bodies they have and they reuse it for half of their releases. At the very least they could use the bigger shoulders which they already made for Falcon
In my opinion, 80% of marvel legends are meant to be viewed at a distance as a team of diorama. I rarely find a marvel legends that disappoints me like pulling a McFarlane out of the box.
Honestly Anthony you're not harsh enough. I collect ML for figures I think look good, or go on clearnace. I haven't been collecting them for too long but I can tell the figures are getting outpriced for the quality/content of the package you're getting. I don't mind them making random characters that few people know if the price felt justified. This guy isn't worth 25 let alone 20. He's a basic buck with a BAF and hands. They could likely charge 10 for him and still be making a profit. I say start judging each figure by what you consider to be the gold standard in Marvel Legends. Go by single release, box set, and deluxe price points. If a box set has only ONE good figure that people would care about, I'd say said box set is not worth the money. Even if that one figure was awesome. For me personally I'd say Amazing Fantasy Spider-Man should be the gold standard at this point. Great figure with fantastic articulation, lots of accessories, and for 25 bucks. Articulation could/should be better sure as I have various nitpicks like you, but overall it's solid. I'd say the best deluxe I've ever bought from them was the War Machine. Solid figure, lots of great accessories, alt head, effects, an overall decent package. Going by these as a standard a lot of ML's just do not hold up what so ever. For example I really want them to do a textured Eddie Brock Anti-Venom. The Selects one has crap articulation, and the old ML looked like a basic buck in white plastic with some black paint. I want something like the movie Venom body just designed to look like his Anti-Venom form (I think it was leaner than normal) with ridges spikes and texture. I doubt they'll ever do that but that's something I'd like to see them do.
I know who Justice is but I really don't care about him. New Warriors always felt like "we have Teen Titans at home", which is probably why it's never been a big thing despite all the attempts. The only characters involved with it that I remotely care about are Firestar and Nova, who are better characters when they're not *in* the New Warriors.
Collectors are defending this figure already. At this point, I wanna call it intellectual dishonesty. A single glance at the neutral standing pose and all of its problems are evident. They're not even subtle about it.
You're telling me you don't know * checks box * new warriors justin??? I love this guy, he beat up that one guy in that one issue and ehh... Yeah this guy is awesome.
Q of the Day: Yes, I know who he is, I like him, and I care…which rarely bodes well for me. It checks a box that I really wanted checked, and there are things I do like about the figure, but the overall proportions of that body are whack.
@@AnthonysCustoms I'm sure you reviewed his earlier release, when he was called Vance Astro and came with a Captain America shield. I think it was in the first Guardians of the Galaxy wave, one of the comics-based figures.
It seems like whoever designs the shoulders for Marvel Legends is a Popeye the sailorman fan. Those are some Popeye shoulders in proportion to the other parts of the arm. Not related to the design but more on the plastics used, the newer ML figures are getting harder to keep standing than McFarlane figures (the knees and ankles are gummy or bent like heck, hip joints that are misaligned in their installation points).
Ive started to collect Mafex ,very expensive, less if bought from Japan, but I really feel I'm getting my money's worth. I'll just buy less and only those I have deep nostalgia for .
Its sad that marvel legends went from being one of the most innovative, detailed and good looking toy lines (for the time) to one of the most outdated, lazy and ugly toy lines. 20 years of technology and engineering improvements just for the figures to turn out like this. Same thing with mcfarlane figures.
I don't know this character. I love your reviews. You give a honest review and I laugh every time. I saved so much money from watching your videos. Thank you for your service.
Thank you. So.. when I saw other reviews, I kept wondering, "How are people not commenting on ___________". And thankfully, you covered all those blanks! (Is Darwin tea-bagging the figure?!?!?)
Justice is the milquetoastest character to ever come out of the New Warriors book (the character actually goes back further, but it's not worth getting into all that), which is an astonishing record given that he's been written by the who's who of comic book writers and just never been interesting in the slightest, it's like his secondary super-power or something. I needed him for my New Warriors lineup, but Hasbro Hasbro'd that too, giving us the wrong costume (and additionally giving Namorita the wrong look too as a bonus). It'll do, but now we need Triatholon to continue the set of lamest Avengers ever.
I get the Marvel Legends reviews but why don't you do GI Joe Classifieds reviews as well? I've seen Dragon Ball, Megaman, McFarlane and even Godzilla but no Classifieds. Is there a particular reason..? 🤔
Who doesn't want bigger balls? Spite points, love it. I'm taking a stance against those who do not appreciate your efforts on ML product reviews. These simpletons have yet to become aware that through your efforts, lots of money has been saved which would otherwise be wasted on products such as the one in this review. Educational, Enlightened, and Entertainment. Those are your standards, please do not compromise them. Thanks for your efforts on this piece of plastic. I wish I could help you out with the name, but I don't even know if it is a hero.
Dude feels like a ML throwback with those pinned joints. IDK who this character is but he looks like any generic superhero lifted straight out of an elementary school classroom poster, just devoid of creativity. $25 for this is insane, no thank you
Love it when lines go for obscure characters like this. Don't know a thing about him but it reminds me of the deep dives DCUC did with characters whose names I can't even remember but at least the figures looked nice. Key difference though is that this looks like garbage, more's the pity.
Really customs? You don't know who's this handsome?vance Astrovik with mutant telepathic powers?funding member of the new warriors best known as marvel boy?dammit in the far, far, far, far, far, far future for some reason he's still alive and well, found captain's America shield and becomes the Mayor Victory? And later he creates the originals the one and only Guardians of the Galaxy dammit! A little of culture people a little of culture!😆
I just looked it up and Justice actually first appeared in 1975! So not a new character at all. I first saw him in Avengers Academy and his personality was as bland as his costume. I bought this figure to go with Speedball. It doesn’t seem dynamic at all, just bland and boring. Worst part is that he doesn’t come with any effect pieces , which seems ridiculous,
Would kids even know who this guy is??? How can marvel legends be a figure line for children? Isn't that the HasBros excuse for the shoddy quality and laziness
This figure is terrible. Even the waist cut looks pretty silly. If there was ever a time to pull the GI Joe design team in to teach them how to do a ball peg waist instead of a straight cut, it would be to facilitate costume design like this. These figures already aren't remotely accurate to the source material, why can't they fudge the costume design a little more to look better in figure form? GI Joes from the 1980s have better waist, shoulder, and hip articulation than most "modern" action figures. The torso and legs were connected by that thick black rubber band, which sounds flimsy, except I only ever had one break and I just replaced it with a regular rubber band with no issues. It's silly that people were crooning over the broken back articulation they did for the Black Widow figure because it's Hasbro Marvel Legends' long overdue first foray into female waist articulation, while every one of their GI Joe Classified figures, including the females, have the ball joint waist cut.
I like these thumbnails where Anthony doesn't put the actual name of the characters. Like how he called the Snake Eyes and Timber 2 pack "Snek and Doggo."
this is the last figure of that wave I need. And I'm waiting for him to go on sale...then I'll use points to get him as low as possible. I don't need him in hand to know he is the worst in the line. Namorita is even better. Other than her no-hinge hands....in hand she is a little better than I thought. Little bit. But Justice is Vance. This is NOT the version fans want at all. They want Vance as Marvel by. You have Night Thrasher, Speedball, and Firestar-looking 90;s. And now Vance and Namorita looking Modern. It's the time to displace new and old warriors. SMH. His powers are mental telepath, telekinetic-like. 616 Vance of the new warriors I could care less about. He is the least member I like in New Warriors. I'm a fan of the rest of the founding members. Nova, Firestar, and Speedball are characters I love. Namorita and Nighttrasher are decent team characters who are okay. But, Vance does not have total hate. Originally when he first came out...(and it was not Marvel Boy) he was Vance Astro aka Major Victory. He is from the future and thousands of years old stuck in a suit he couldn't take off. A founding member of the original Guardians of the Galaxy. But later established as a character from an alternate universe. So poor Justice will never become Vance Astro. Dude asking you why keep reviewing do Marvel Legends is a dumb question. My favorite videos you do is Legends. And you a reviewer. Hasbro's better work is with Classified. There has to be something to that. I seriously think they are cheaper making Legends. And that it might have to do with Disney.
The do we have to get him? if you’re trying to built the Void which looks pretty unique. He maybe useful if you’re collecting New Warriors team but the outfits of all member might not come from the same era. Otherwise this figure is generic as generic can be which is the majority of Marvel Legends these days.
Hasbro just pretty much blows now. It's really sad, because that's my toy line. ...but they constantly keep giving us crap figures, of deep cut characters. Even when I see one that I initially like, there's always SOMETHING that completely ruins it. Good example; I saw the Spidershot figure and originally thought "Okay, I don't know this version of Spidey, but it looks pretty cool... and then ai saw the thigh gap! Are you kidding me? You could literally fit another leg in between!! So, even when they are a cool deep cut character, they eff it the eff up somehow. Sik
Toy box art should not be your go to wiki on super heroes. The colors are actually more accurate on the figure than on that box art. For the love of God... just take five minutes to do a Google image search on the character before reviewing him. His eyes are only white when he's using his powers. I guess you could make an argument for a swappable head with white eyes but once upon a time we just used our imaginations for such things.
Figuarts' Shinkocchou Seihou series is like the antithesis of Marvel Legends... they're using all their years of experience to make figures that blow their older stuff out of the water. I think it's worth picking up a few just to see how great they are
Guy has been around since 1975 😂 New Warriors fans out here just getting bodied by Anthony. As a Perez/Busiek Avengers fan I can’t wait to get him, plus he goes with all the other New Warriors they’ve released.
This why wanna start boycott Inc ew months after x men 97 wave two since I’ve seen many are looking forward to cyclops. If all collectors join and boycott hasbro until they give us good quality for our buck instead of this half ass shit. I know they’ll see a low in profit let’s face it, all us collectors are today their biggest profit when it comes to legends and transformers. And their other lines I’m sure I never collected but I know collectors of hasbro products are their main sell and they keep dipping us over these last few years cause now they know we will mostly pay anything for a slightly diversion of a figure we got multiple copies of. We are essentially the junkies and Hasbro the drug sellers. Thats why I’m starting the boycott in a few months with the goal of better accuracy on figures like this that they sell us comparing to products in same lines they’ve sold us in past at cheaper price points and better size or value. What really pushed me over the edge is now they pulling the gimmick of not including double sets of hands as they generally always have. It’s a list of issues that is transparent of how the company views and respects us collectors despite us being part of if not their biggest profits.

I might be wrong but I think this guy dated firestar great review bro
Indeed, for quite some time. Joined the Avengers together and even became fiancés. But they never married.
Looks like Eddie Redmayne doing cosplay
I don't know this character.
I love your reviews. You give a honest review and I laugh every time. I saved so much money from watching your videos.
Thank you for your service.
Glad I could help!
is it me or both legs are interchanged?
This guy is a derp! Hasbro really dropping the ball lately.
Thank you. So.. when I saw other reviews, I kept wondering, "How are people not commenting on ___________". And thankfully, you covered all those blanks! (Is Darwin tea-bagging the figure?!?!?)
Glad I could help! yes
Why did you flare out his fists like that on the thumbnail??🤣🤣🤣🤣
This guy is old. I recognize him from ultimate alliance 2(which is before marvel got bought by disney).
hes from 75 it turns out
Justice is the milquetoastest character to ever come out of the New Warriors book (the character actually goes back further, but it's not worth getting into all that), which is an astonishing record given that he's been written by the who's who of comic book writers and just never been interesting in the slightest, it's like his secondary super-power or something. I needed him for my New Warriors lineup, but Hasbro Hasbro'd that too, giving us the wrong costume (and additionally giving Namorita the wrong look too as a bonus). It'll do, but now we need Triatholon to continue the set of lamest Avengers ever.
The head looks like gambit...
We're all waiting for power princess review....
I'm still waiting to find one
he looks like something an ai would crap out to be honest
Very true!
Woah, that's pretty harsh dude! Let's give the AI some credit here
I get the Marvel Legends reviews but why don't you do GI Joe Classifieds reviews as well?
I've seen Dragon Ball, Megaman, McFarlane and even Godzilla but no Classifieds. Is there a particular reason..? 🤔
I don't have any interest in gi joe
Who doesn't want bigger balls? Spite points, love it. I'm taking a stance against those who do not appreciate your efforts on ML product reviews. These simpletons have yet to become aware that through your efforts, lots of money has been saved which would otherwise be wasted on products such as the one in this review. Educational, Enlightened, and Entertainment. Those are your standards, please do not compromise them. Thanks for your efforts on this piece of plastic. I wish I could help you out with the name, but I don't even know if it is a hero.
Thanks for the continued support and thoughtful comments.
Have no idea who this character is and I don't care because of the boring/generic design.
He’s actually more of a 90’s character, not a new one .
I liked the video 👍
I feel like you missed an opportunity with a thumbnail where it should have been... "Just this Guy" A play off of the name justice. 😂
I simply watch, to see Anthony shit on Hasbro...lol Hilarious
Marvel’s Dufice
love handles 🤣
I literally thought these were fake 😂
I just looked it up and Justice actually first appeared in 1975! So not a new character at all. I first saw him in Avengers Academy and his personality was as bland as his costume. I bought this figure to go with Speedball. It doesn’t seem dynamic at all, just bland and boring. Worst part is that he doesn’t come with any effect pieces , which seems ridiculous,
Would kids even know who this guy is???
How can marvel legends be a figure line for children? Isn't that the HasBros excuse for the shoddy quality and laziness
To answer your questions: Don't know who this character is, don't like him, don't care lol
I thought it was Cape Gambit.. no idea who he is. Don’t care who he is.. Marvel comics suck anymore so it doesn’t matter.
Cosplay the Figure.
I’m the weirdo who wants figures of the obscure D-listers like Justice….but I don’t think this figure looks good.
A new review from Anthony right after I just watched Anthony participate in Nerdzoic's "2023 Nerdie Awards." This is gonna be good hehe
They need to give us an action figure of the kid who got exposed to his grandpa's internet gas
Sik
Sassy pose in the thumbnail. Amazing
Toy box art should not be your go to wiki on super heroes. The colors are actually more accurate on the figure than on that box art. For the love of God... just take five minutes to do a Google image search on the character before reviewing him. His eyes are only white when he's using his powers. I guess you could make an argument for a swappable head with white eyes but once upon a time we just used our imaginations for such things.
the fact that people defend this line is beyond me, they're honestly so shit
Ahhh yes Jus… ju.. uhh who the Fuck is this?
Dead guy from the Boys Cartoon.
Figuarts' Shinkocchou Seihou series is like the antithesis of Marvel Legends... they're using all their years of experience to make figures that blow their older stuff out of the water. I think it's worth picking up a few just to see how great they are
Answee of the day: no,no &no
Guy has been around since 1975 😂
New Warriors fans out here just getting bodied by Anthony. As a Perez/Busiek Avengers fan I can’t wait to get him, plus he goes with all the other New Warriors they’ve released.
With that said tho he is kind of a dweeb lol😅
Agreed for Avengers, but that costume does not fit with the other New Warriors we got before. Different eras.
Who tf
This figure looks really bad, I can’t believe they keep giving us such weird proportionate figures
