    Really blown away by this. I would have never thought Autel would be outshined by a company like OBDstar, in doing a featured function.... Hopefully you have some footage to share.
    Just did an older ME 9.7 with the IM608 and that was a breeze thankfully.. But will keep this issue in mind.
    thanks for sharing

      Yes, it's crazy how they are having the issue bricking these. I know of 2 other people that the same issue occurred. And footage I definitely have, It was part of a diag video I am putting together but got delayed once I kept messing up the ecu's up until this latest obdstar update which let me finish the job. I too have done the ME9's with autel with no issues, I don't know what has gone wrong with these 17.7.x

    with autel gbox3 is needed. I did med17.7.7 amg e63s and it worked with im608 & gbox3

      I purchased gbox3 specifically for this clone work and it still bricked 2 modules, I am also aware of 2 other gentlemen that bricked theirs as well.

      @@DTEAuto Use KESS3 or hexprog to clone it. I have done a few with KESS3 and there were no problems.

    To be honest , this seems very cool but in my opinion always better to do flashing / programming and cloning with a flasher tool and not with a diagnostics tool that has this as an extra feature. Have you tried to recover those other 2 by bootmode or was the initially read out corrupt ? Anyway , never expected obdstar that it could do this , very cool 💪💪💪

      I found the boot pin, but haven't had an idea of how to attempt to recover

    Nice vid man. What do you think it gone wrong with Autel? Corrupted both EEPROM and Flash in donor ECU? You cannot reuse them, can you?

    • @DTEAuto
      @DTEAuto  11 месяцев назад +1

      The Autel was able to read it, unlike with the OBDStar, the autel has you read 3 different sections, boot info, eeprom and flash. it read and save those 3 no issues, it was when I went to write the boot info it failed, and after that point I was no longer able to read it, completely dead. I'm not sure if it can be restored.

    My 17.7.2 is burnt and not readable according to two computer repair guys. What are my options now? I ordered a used replacement already.

    • @DTEAuto
      @DTEAuto  10 месяцев назад

      Not readable via the obd port with a scan tool? or on bench as I did on this video?

    • @asid731
      @asid731 10 месяцев назад

      @@DTEAuto it was not readable from my scantool when I first diagnosed the bad ECU. And also two different Computer Repair places told me they cannot read it on the bench and that it is totally burnt out.

    • @DTEAuto
      @DTEAuto  10 месяцев назад

      If they tried to read it on bench through just the plug connectors as I did in the video and was unable to, I would try "boot" mode reading, you would have to send it out to be read in that form which includes opening up the computer case and tapping onto the circuit board.

      @DTEAuto  Месяц назад

      That number is correct, you have a MEVD 17.2.7
      Maybe the Launch doesn't have specific bmw
      But the MED17.7.1 / MED 17.7.2 / MED 17.7.3 all have the same TC1797 maybe try that

    Thanks for your video, by it I made clone with Autel, hint for those who will use Autel to clone this ECU just copy/write flash and eeprom, do not copy/write boot, as soon you press write boot it bricked.
