He loved her so much, he couldn’t rob that world’s version of Jinx of the Ekko she knew and built memories with. He returned to his proper timeline to save the one who needed him more, even though she was a broken person. I never appreciated Ekko’s character until I saw the devotion he had for her.
Very in-depth look into Ekko's character but I'm surprised you didn't fall in complete love with Ekko's character from the start. His community, to his goals for a better world and the amazing drip all created this very cool and admirable guy.
Ekko is easily one of the strongest characters ever portrayed in fiction. His sacrifice wasn't just some righteous Marty Stu moment. This is genuinely a decision that most of us would not be able to make, and he struggles to give up on this perfect life in order to save the people he loves

It is best way tell the story in my opinion.No string attached, you don't need to worry about who is your favourite actor or not. What kind of person that. In animation you just saw the character and related to that character. That much better in my opinion. And you can also go crazy with art style also.

Not only is it in 4 FPS (the amount of seconds he can go back) but just before this Heimerdinger told him “with an invention like this you really have to live in the moment” also Ekko’s whole champion reveal was all about living in the moment. I like to think that this is him living in every. Single. Moment. Almost like he’s taking a picture in his mind and really experiencing every little moment.
Heimerdinger was the man, he ultimately sacrifices himself to send Ekko forward to save the world. Ekko and Heimerdinger were the true MVPs and best team.
The number of times I’ve rewatched that Ekko and Jinx fight in season one can’t be counted. This episode ripped me to shreds. The way they juxtaposed it with season one’s episode 7 was brilliant.

The willpower it took for ello to not stay there and be happy is admiring, he could have stayed there, live his life with the love of his life and grow old, but his hero heart wouldn’t let him abandon his friend on his own timeline
Ekko has such a good heart and is one of the (if not the most) conscientious characters in the show, just because he found a timeline where it’s all perfect and peaceful it didn’t detour him from saving the other world that wasn’t, even if that meant he’ll leave this perfect timeline and won’t be able to come back again. He truly is the savior, saved the entire world multiple times in the show, so ironic how he’s a “side character” when the entire show universe doesn’t survive if it isn’t for him. Love him to death.

Anyway: If I were Ekko, I would have never tried to leave the world of this wonderful person - who he obviously seems to love. [Not that this would have been the right thing to do. Ekko left *because* he loved her. That Powder wasn't his, never would be. Everything in that world was wrong, because it was so right - the only tragedy they experienced was Vi and Jayce's deaths. Hextech never came about, Zaun wasn't buried in the sludge and smog of Piltover, and Powder got to grow up to see her friends become successful engineers and scientists. All of this compounds the tragedy of Arcane. It literally didn't have to happen, none of it did. And that's the greatest tragedy of all.

Well I can "relate" to this. This scene and song symbolised for me my situation with my ex. It's already 3 years ago, now I'm happy with the love of my love, but the way we broke up back then left a "what if" in me. The "what if" Ekko saw in the alternative timeline. And he decided to return to reality. The timing was perfect, this one helped a lot (and now Ekko is my fav carachter lol)
Im such a big fan of Pomme and to a lesser extent Stromae and so not only seeing a collaboration between them but also for one of my favourite shows, it is amazing.
There are so many people writing, that this series is one of the best…animated series…of the decade. How about, it is simple the best. I have not thought this long about a series since watching Arcane. It is like a pain in the heart for being finished, which still causes me to smile and to think about the various facets making this series so special. Thank you for Arcane! This last act portrayed the human condition in so many facets. One of the best series in the last years. It will always have a place in my heart. When I used to play League back than I always wished for a series like that to happen, as I knew the game has such a rich cast of interesting characters.

this show is amazing every detail is thought of! i think it shows a lot about Ekkos character that he cant even bring him self to be happy in the world he has always dreamed of as long as he knows there is a universe, his universe where his people are suffering and seeing what it could have been or even could be is enough to push him to make the hard choice of going back. !!
I lowkey know it would have been jarring and we wouldnt have seen as much of the great dancing but if they did 1 frame per second we would be hyper focused on experiencing, like ekko, every second as a moment in time and how every time he returns back he relives these 4 frames or 4 moments and how every return is like "losing 4 memories" but gaining 4 new ones at the same time.
Ekko gave up heaven the dream he always wanted to save his own world, and thereby becoming strong enough to forget the past desires and move on. Its such a damn sad series, I proably been crying to every godamn episode this season.
Also, the scene we're Jinx makes a hand gesture onto Ekko's forehead at the beginning of episode 7, the time when Benzo enters the shop, is also the same gesture that her mom did in episode 5 when Vander recollects his memories of the past before hugging Vi.
He was a hero... He wasn't selfish. I'm glad he got to finally say his goodbye to Powder, because he didn't get to say goodbye the first time in season one.

Powder's defining characteristic is she's willing to sacrifice everything so others can be happy. In Arcane, she (ostensibly) sacrifices her life to save Vi's; in AUrcane she sacrifices her own passions to be the safety net for her friends and help keep The Last Drop floating.
Ekko doesn't wish she were like AUrcane Powder. He wishes he could have been there to help, that he knew more earlier and could have maybe prevented the ordeal from happening.
Fun Fact: Ella Purnell is not credited in this episode because Jinx did not exist in the alternate timeline. Powder did.

Well I can "relate" to this. This scene and song symbolised for me my situation with my ex. It's already 3 years ago, now I'm happy with the love of my love, but the way we broke up back then left a "what if" in me. The "what if" Ekko saw in the alternative timeline. And he decided to return to reality.
The timing was perfect, this one helped a lot (and now Ekko is my fav carachter lol)

Im such a big fan of Pomme and to a lesser extent Stromae and so not only seeing a collaboration between them but also for one of my favourite shows, it is amazing.
There are so many people writing, that this series is one of the best…animated series…of the decade. How about, it is simple the best. I have not thought this long about a series since watching Arcane. It is like a pain in the heart for being finished, which still causes me to smile and to think about the various facets making this series so special. Thank you for Arcane! It gives me something to hold on to

This last act portrayed the human condition in so many facets. One of the best series in the last years. It will always have a place in my heart. When I used to play League back than I always wished for a series like that to happen, as I knew the game has such a rich cast of interesting characters.

Ekko wants this stability so much but abandoning the people he cares about in his reality isn’t worth this one. He’s built a community he just can’t easily abandon as well as the fact that he is the only one that truly could have gotten to Jinx in his reality.

I'm french and it's difficult to hear it correctly. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they superimpose 3 different lyrics on purpose to mess with our minds. Depending on people or on the part of the song we hear "I love you, I hate you", " I love you, I'm waiting for you" or " I love you, I'm leaving you". Pretty sure it's on purpose

this show is amazing every detail is thought of! i think it shows a lot about Ekkos character that he cant even bring him self to be happy in the world he has always dreamed of as long as he knows there is a universe, his universe where his people are suffering and seeing what it could have been or even could be is enough to push him to make the hard choice of going back. !!
There was supposed to be more scenes with ekko and jinx preparing for the fight kinda paralleling their scenes in the alternate timeline

I lowkey know it would have been jarring and we wouldnt have seen as much of the great dancing but if they did 1 frame per second we would be hyper focused on experiencing, like ekko, every second as a moment in time and how every time he returns back he relives these 4 frames or 4 moments and how every return is like "losing 4 memories" but gaining 4 new ones at the same time.
Ekko is the real MVP of season 2. He left heaven behind and showed up to the final battle in the most badass way possible

Also, the scene we're Jinx makes a hand gesture onto Ekko's forehead at the beginning of episode 7, the time when Benzo enters the shop, is also the same gesture that her mom did in episode 5 when Vander recollects his memories of the past before hugging Vi.
He was a hero... He wasn't selfish. I'm glad he got to finally say his goodbye to Powder, because he didn't get to say goodbye the first time in season one.
