what if I'm just buying a monitor to use with my xbox? i'd prefer higher resolution for casual gaming but wasn't sure if that makes a difference since I'm not using the monitor for anything more than that - and using HDMI to DisplayPort from xbox to my new monitor great video - thanks for info regardless!
Hi, thanks for the great video! i am thinking to buy this monitor, AOC Q27G3XMN, which seems to be a great VA Monitor and not an IPS. do you still recommend for an amatour Gamer with graphic card asus tuf-4070 tis-o16gb? thanks for feedback.
I'm currently using dual 24 inch 1080p 75hz monitors which still function perfectly fine. I don't play competitive games, and 75 fps seems perfectly smooth to me. I hear many people claim that 144hz+ is "much better". I'm wondering if I should opt for another 1080p monitor as there's some 165hz panels that are at good prices, or if I should go for 1440p although they cost almost twice the price. I'm using a 3060 so even if I get a 1440p monitor, my fps might not reach the monitor's refresh rate or if I'd nee a much faster graphics card
All very good points. You should always plan your setup on the hardware you have and what you personally like. The difference between 60 to 90hz is more impactful than 120 to 165.
I just got my 6800xt today, but I game with 2 1080p panels both at 165hz and both 27in. And couldn't be happier. But my end goal is 2k for sure. The monitor market is so bad. There are no single 4K 27” OLED gaming panels. Only 4K version is the 32 240hz OLED panels that coming out in Q1”, which is way too big for normal size desk. PPI is still higher compared to 1440p OLED monitors.
I surprised my husband with a new gaming pc. 4090 card Intel 13900k. He needed a monitor upgrade. Kinda clueless as what to get. This video did help a bit. But still confused. As for the games he plays. It's mainly league of legends, age of empires 4. That's all his old pc could really handle. But he wants to explore more games. But wants to be budget friendly for a monitor. He wants two monitors. The first one now will do for a bit. His research was kind opposite of yours but aligned when you said a compromise. Go with a higher resolution and modest hertz. He saw the LG ultra gear 27" $249 at best buy. 144hz and high resolution. He got it but the monitor isn't working correctly. He keeps getting an issue that says an incorrect display port version will cause the screen to go blank. We have tried everything. We have gotten it to work but it's like turn the pc on swap the display port cable a few times turn the pc then on and it usually works. We will be returning it tomorrow never the less. But any advice on another monitor would be great. $800 and below. $250-$500 would be ideal. He wants to explore more games some fps some rpg some rts etc. Just confusing for such powerful rig what is the best monitor at the moment. He plans on doing the duel monitor later on.
I just got a 180hz Acer monitor. Now, it lets me chooses 180Hz only at 1920x1080p resolution. If I choose 3840x2160p resolution, the max I can get it 60Hz refresh rate..?!? What should I go with?? And what’s better..??
Im sorry but i got a old gtx 1060 high refresh is off the table completely. I can barely get 60 frames. This bih has one gb of free vram! Need some help here.
I cant decide. I have 13600kf and 4060ti and old 60hz slow ips. In shooters i cant see enemies well. I tested 2x sampling and have some drop of fps on min settings on 1440p Is it worth it to go for 144hz 2k ips?
I'm starting to discover that pixels per inch are more important than raw resolution. The ROG ally makes 1080 look like 1440p due to the size of the screen.
1440p @ 144hz IPS FTW!
It's my go to for a reason 😉
@@greaterthanpieis anything different with a laptop?im new with it and it has 175hz and 1920 1080p what details for a monitor do u recommend

Great Video, you just opened my eyes to a lot. Really needed this as I'm hunting a new monitor for a triple setup.

Is 90-fps great in single player games? Or would i be missing out not gerting 144hz?
90 fps is great. It's easier to drive than 144 and more games support it

iv got a 4070ti card mixed with a msi 165hz 1440p, is this a good setup or should i be reducing frame rate to get better resoultion
I have a GTX 1660 Super.. what resolution and refresh rate should I consider?
Thank you for the video. I am looking for a budget monitor for some gaming. It’s very informative and I manage to make a decision. Thanks again

Is it worth it to go for 144hz 2k ips?
2k 144 is the sweet spot right based on your specs it probably would be good
Dumb question can’t rip of the va display and install a IPs one
I would just replace the monitor at that point
What is better 2560 x 1440 with 144 hz or 1920 x 1080 with 165 hz?
144 to 165 is a lot less noticeable than the jump to 1440p. The question you should ask is can your hardware drive that resolution and frame rate
Nice content. 1440p is the new 1080p. #PapaZachGaming new supporter here.
Thank you! Very useful:)
Well done
good content bro
High hz 1080 all day long for me. It's all preference though, so do what works for you.

low both and more objects on screen
240hz tn 1080p or nothing
ngl im all about fps so i play at 1080p with a 12900k and 3080 lmao probably stupid ik but thats my choice.
It's a perfectly valid choice. Pair that with the monitor that can run 240 hertz and you'd have an amazing gaming experience
