So many RUclipsrs tried to do this, but most of them just points out really obvious stuff, some does not bring any nuance, and some clearly never did research or even played the first game.

It was revealed in text documents you unlock (I think from the pizza deliveries) that Higgs wasn’t just working for Amelie, but entirely controlled/manipulated by her to do her bidding in guiding Sam. Higgs’ entire existence was pretty much Amelie’s design. Amelie is truly gone now though, no way she’s coming back, Higgs is just obsessed with her.
No no no. Amelie isnt gone. Shes trapped and noone, even herself, can tell for how long. The extinction event just got postponed. She will definetely come back, but probably not as amelie as we know. And maybe not in ds2.
She is the final/last ex entity and noone knows how to stop her yet.

Amalie is not gone or dead, she's very much alive and trapped on the beach until the circumstances for another annihilation event (the sixth/ last stranding) which will wipe out the entire planet

My theory is that Fragile transferred her powers to Sam. This makes Sam a DOOMS lvl 3. But in doing so it also transferred her advanced aging caused from the timefall Higgs made her go through. Sam, having been protected from the acceleration of time, passed that characteristic to Fragile, which reversed her aging to that of her younger self. This is why Fragile now needs a BB like Sam did in the first game. I suspect in the 2nd game, you will also play as Sam...except now you will have the ability to fast travel like Fragile, and you will permanently see BTs without the need for an Odradek. I believe when you first start up the game, you will actually play as Fragile. Possibly for the first 1/3 or 1/6 of the game. This would make sense, on account returning players will be introduced to new gameplay in a simpler way that is more gradual. You will already know what to do with Fragile, a BB, and an Odradek. The game will then introduce you to Sam, and you will be transferred to that character for the remainder of the game. This would make sense, as playing as Sam with DOOMS lvl 3 abilities would defer your requirement to use a BB. While at the same time systematically hunting down Higgs who may have stolen Louise from you. This narrative essentially places you in Cliffs shoes from the first game, whilst simultaneously allowing you to play Sam who is following in his Father, Cliff's footsteps... "Give me back my BB"
I could be way off. But seems logical. I suspect the 2nd game to take a more action packed approach, on a hellbent path to take back his child no matter the cost. And gathering supplies or "deliveries" along the way to build up a mother base of sorts in the Magellan.
This is the most comprehensive and likely explanation. That sort of just fits together.
I feel you are so entirely spot on, but with one small thought making me skeptical. Perhaps it is all an entirely different dimmesion (multi verse) and is a dimensional merging. The red "demon" Lou and the "angel" Lou being the connection between the two dimensions. Who knows! But thank you for sharing your thoughts! They're extremely well put together and I'm glad you shared!

I was thinking something similar(Sam giving Fragile his youth) but definitely not as in depth lol. Your hypothesis also fits how in the second game your abilities are usually enhanced or better than how they were in the first game.

An important detail of the "cyborgs" is that their torsos seems to have guts or a lot of umbilical cords floating inside them, in a container similar to the BB containers (in material and light at least)
Perhaps they are bots with a bit of organic material to let their beached self connect to the cyborg?
Or maybe it's just a new enemy type we can kill without worrying about them going necro, so the new game can be more action oriented.
Iirc, the only organs you need in order to link Ka with Ha are heart and brain
Well remember how Higgs is obsessed with Egyptian lore and history that he’s dedicated his whole aesthetic to it. His see through torso containing “intestines” reminds me of a canopitic jar. Jars that they would put the removed organs of a dead emperor and bury him with in the tomb. Is Higgs using Amelie’s intestines as a umbilical cord to connect to her, her beach or to obtain his powers back again?
That ear comparison part was one hell of a catch... Nice job.

Seems that Amelie as "just a spirit" may have done a connection to the physical world by using Higgs physical body as her own. As she has lost her body when Bridget died of cancer.
Therefore the new characther might be a fusion of both Amelie and Higgs in pursuit of the last stranding that Sam prevented in the DS1 finale. (very similar way to the Liquid Ocelot fusion).

I am SO glad that I watched this! There were a few things that I hadn't noticed while playing the 1st game. The BIG one being: Higgs "worshipping" Amelie (or at least, kneeling before her), before they notice Sam has appeared on the Beach. Holy sh*t, I had not seen that til now! 😳 We did find out they were secretely working together in the 1st game, but the impression you get towards the end, is that she stops giving him powers or working with him anymore. But what if that was all just an act? And even though she pretended to "save" everybody or whatever... she really was just buying herself time until Higgs could help her find a way to come into the real world? Bridget is dead, so she can't use that body anymore. So she would need something else. A vessel of some kind. Perhaps, one with repatriation powers. Like Louise, who she basically gave repatriation powers to, when she brought her back from death, and "gave" her to Sam. OMG, it's all coming together now! lol
Betcha Amelie gave up on America and moved somewhere else to restart.

This is a really good theory but what I think happens is she's actually gone but Higgs is obsessed with her and there will be a group of followers like a cult who worship her like he did that try to put higgs into power to finish what she was supposed to do.

Since the death stranding stopped in the end of the first game, stopping the effects of time fall. The damage on Fragiles body may have been reversed.
Louise is the key to this chapter of the story. Perhaps another cataclismic event took place, or a major conflict broke out and somehow held everything back..., and those folks in red clothes, they appear to be the new version of the Mules from the first game. But what I really wanted to say is that this creation, this worldbuilding, this storytelling, this mythology, all this amazing world that Kojima and his team have created where there was nothing before, just like Michelangelo created La Pieta or the David.., all this needs to be a Trilogy, it's not enough with two experiencies (the word "game" just falls short...)

Great analysis guys. Here's a bit more that I think may be there:
The lead character in this game will be fragile who loses her DOOMs ability after going weak because of all those fragile jumps in the end of the last game, so she now uses a BB pod. Also, she dies but someone (may not be Sam) brings her back from her beach where she is when we see black liquid coming out of her eyes. This return makes her a repatriate.
The 'new journey' for Sam will be more like fragile's mentor because Sam has now grown old. Sam also is no more a repatriate after getting disconnected from emily so if he dies, he dies.
If you look closely at that big structure in the desert that looks like an other-worldly location (6:24) , just above the bottom-right of that structure, you can see that one of those floating pillars is a little tilted as if it is in the process of joining that structure like a brick and the one above it also looks similar. Maybe that EE cult is building some sort of a gateway that runs on chiral network to bring the beach into this world and a voidout opens the gate hence that red coffin with a body that's about to necrotize.
Also, there's something written just below the nozzle of the handgun that shoots fragile. Not sure if it is 'BEGIN'. Which may mean that for these EE worshippers, beach is the beginning.

The red guards and red Higgs have organs shown so my guess is someone made a way for people who have their body stuck on the beach can now control or possess one of these, basically its an artificial replacement body
Maybe those aren’t organs but just a cluster of strands like heart man showed sam a small sample of in a glass jar

Great video. The part of the trailer, when Fragile and Lou are hunted reminds me " the massacre of the Innocents " gospel of Matthew. Kojima using some bible references again? Maybe the red dressed cult will try to kill all baby's for some reason.
Stick and rope?! Probably we may be able to connect with other players to fight against the cult.
it sounds like amelie and higgs are like a power couple and now theyre combined into one body and its the extinction entity and it wants revenge against sam and bb so they go to kill them. but then it just turns bb into a bt.. or maybe they want you to have bb be a bt so you have a stronger connection to the beach to give you more new powers in the game.. that way you can go on to build the world in newer interesting ways. sounds like sam was being used the whole time in the first game. thats a classic trope in metal gear is that youre always being used to do something for the enemy who controls everything including the government and the terrorists..
I feel like Drawbridge is more of a militaristic progression of Bridges. Like, they've connected the world with the rope, but now they're willing to defend it and themselves with a stick, and using a drawbridge to control and keep enemies out.

9:44 could be it’s back in time or flashback or even a dream or premonition. I know it wouldn’t make a lot of sense since the baby had Louise on it but it’s possible this was her with a baby before the Higgs/rain/nuke incident.
This was a great breakdown.
The APAC logo is clearly a reference to the VOC Amsterdam (West India Company) and the turrets on the ship look like the 'Phalanx CIWS' defense system, good vid btw !
Something interesting to note about the character with the red mask, for a few frames when the mask is coming off you can see the entire forehead down to that person's right eyebrow. There are no golden tattoos on the forehead unlike Higgs. Very interesting.

This is a small insignificant detail, but rather than Fragile and Sam crying because they're close to the creatures in the tar, don't you think it would take a ton of chiralium to make the ship fly? That's what I assumed was setting off their allergies.

Concerning Sam's aging i have a theory that's a lot more simpler.
First of all i don't necessarly think the time gap between DS1 & 2 is going to be gigantic.
At the end of DS1 when Lou wakes up from the incinerator, and Sam escapes from there...
There is a cinematic, where Sam & Lou are being seen, and it rains a lot.
What is actually surprising in that scene there, is the fact that Sam's head is uncovered by his suit, he does seem to just be hanging around with Lou that's ALSO in the rain since he tore the BB pod in order to free her.
Could Sam's hair color be the reason of that rain that caused color change and making him look a lot older ?
Also quick disclaimer : There is a scene at the beginning of the game where Sam's receiving a rain drop and his hair wick turns grey-ish.. 😏
Other than that, this review was on point. can't wait for the sequel to come out and experience yet again this masterful universe 👍
The rain at the end of the game wasn't Timefall. It was just regular rain, as far as we can tell. The blue in the rainbow, the birdsong, and the fact that.. Y'know, they're not aging..
The rain at the start of the game was Timefall, yes. That's why it caused his hair to turn grey.
It could maybe still be the rain that affected his hair in some way.. But I don't see why it would just change his hair grey.

Why Fragile doesn't have her umbrella ready. At the end of DS >SPOILERS< the access to Amelie's beach closes as Sam isolates Amelie, ends the Stranding and closes the Beach. implications this will have on the chiral network, connections through it etc. are not explained. Is the Death Stranding connected to the people with Dooms the reason they are being able to connect to their beaches or using different connected abilities? Not certain. May be that when the Death Stranding ended it has an effect on the people being able to access the beaches or not anymore.
Sam may not look older, his hair is white, the effect of Timefall.
Higgs appearance is very much Egyptian influenced - the mask - as used in DS as well are symbols of immortality, mummies were adorned with them - organs put aside in jars and body preserved in a state as to receive the eventual return of the Ka or used in the afterlife as a dimension beyond life. The mechanical body looks like a walking dystopian mummy of sorts - the embodiment of Higgs returning as an emissary receiving the power of a God, from Amelie as an EE. This cyborg is reminiscent of a reassembled body similar to a mummy from the organs of a canopic jar. All is speculation, I am just basing my assumptions from what the art of the imagery inspired me and information I have from the previous game.
Great video! It seems BTs are being weaponized more than ever. And the chiral network, Louise and Higgs might be all connected. Maybe Higgs may have gained his new body from Louise and aged the body to a certain point.

Beginning of 2021 we adopted a Bull Terrier and I named him Higgs after my favorite character in DS. He passed away last June and it broke my heart. Hearing you say his name made me tear up some. I’m hoping he really does make an appearance in DS2. I know he was a bad guy but his character intrigued me so much. 🥺
