Smoker really does understand how Luffy thinks. He went and was waiting at the most dangerous island for the Straw hats to show up at knowing their captain couldn't resist. Just didn't expect them to end up at an island the log pose can't find.
You are absolutely right bro, Smoker's actions on Punk Hazard showcase his remarkable understanding of Luffy's personality and decision-making process. He anticipated Luffy's inherent desire for adventure and his inability to resist a challenge, leading him to lie in wait on the perilous Punk Hazard. This demonstrates Smoker's astute intelligence and his keen ability to predict Luffy's movements. However, Smoker's gamble wasn't without its unexpected turn. The Straw Hats' arrival on a seemingly uncharted island, beyond the guidance of the Log Pose, threw a curveball into his plan. This twist highlights the unpredictable nature of Luffy's journey and the endless possibilities that lie ahead for both Smoker and the Straw Hats. And, Smoker's understanding of Luffy remains a fascinating aspect of their complex relationship. It adds a layer of intrigue and anticipation to their future encounters, leaving us to wonder how Smoker will adapt his strategies to counter Luffy's impulsive and unpredictable nature.
8:54 Ah yes, a misunderstanding so big that any watcher could expect 'big things' to unfold. Only to realize it was just an illusionary trap, a deception. Classic.
The second era of One Piece begins with this episode. To think that they arrived at Punk Hazard just because Luffy liked the cool volcanoes is hilarious. Perhaps it's the winds of fate.
I really enjoy this arc. We find out about some things we were wondering about, get all sorts of foreshadowing, have a wild adventure, and meet some new people and old "friends". This arc is so full of unbelievable stuff happening that the dragon we see here is one of the least odd things that happens. :) People have speculated that Elbaf is one of the destinations of the Straw Hat crew ever since Little Garden, and since they have not visited yet it's probably in the second half of the story. Dorry and Broggy had an Eternal Pose for Elbaf so they could return home, so those are almost certainly a thing in the New World. The story does make use of the new log pose in some pretty interesting ways, even though this journey is pretty unconventional for someone new to this half of the Grand Line. As expected of the Straw Hats. I suspect that none of the other rookies started at Punk Hazard of all places lol.
From what I understand the log pose not pointing to the island doesnt mean anything. It's just not one of the 3 possible islands that the log pose could have been pointing to at that time. It could have pointed to Punk Hazard some time later on though.
If i remember it correctly, the thing that happened in this island messed up its magnetic field so log poses cant record it direction. Not sure though, been hundreds of chapters already.
@@pedropaku1777 there's a certain person who hasn't been revealed yet that might be able to meddle with it in theory but the answer might not be that complicated.
The dragons some of the crew met a couple years back were very different than the ones we see now, which prompted their reaction. Robin wasn't with them back then to witness them, so of course she would think it's mythical. It still fits.
They haven't got the full picture of the island yet. It cud be different seasons in different places too. Until they see both halves together, it's difficult to assume.
*What I find interesting is how so many people consider the middle of One Piece drags… No. It just adds a lot more bonding amongst the group, which I am a big fan of. I can understand people saying specific arcs drag on, but that’s about it. The only one’s that drag a bit in my opinion is Dressrosa (mainly because there seems to be quite a lot of flashbacks of things we’ve already seen), and the other would be Wano. We had to go through over 200 episodes for that Arc, and honestly it was enjoyable, but there was next to no lore considering how long we were there for… Water 7 and Skypiea dropped more lore about the One Piece world then Wano did. The only lore we really got in Wano was about Wano, and most of that doesn’t have any impact on the rest of the world… Wano and Dressrosa are both still amazing, but it’s not because of the arcs, but maybe like 10-15 episodes of each arc. The comedy in both also helps save them Arcs.*
@@gustavogg8729 watch that episode again... Rayleigh explains it. Intimidation to knock it down and scare it away not control them. No one in the show has used conquer haki to control anyone yet.
@@kunalsinghal1247 not sure how seeing as punk hazard is significantly shorter and also an info dump arc like Sabaody.
