I don't know if the hair coloring is from genetics or a devil fruit. It would be quite something to have that naturally. Yamato is wearing chains and doesn't get to go where she wants. It's not way out there that someone like Oden would inspire her, especially after seeing him in the boiling oil and then reading of his adventures overseas written in his own hand. There are likely tons of Oden stories of when he was in Wano available to her from people here, and it kind of comes together to create a near mythical figure that anyone, and someone eight years old especially, would find to be the one they'd most want to be like. Kiku is way taller than Izo, so despite this scene showing otherwise it kind of begs the question of why that is. Ryuma's corpse is not abnormally tall, but all the Samurai from Oden's retainers are, except the one that left Wano with Oden and stayed out of the country. It's a strange coincidence if it is one.

When this scene came out, there was some confusion among English readers over whether this phrase meant that Kikunojo identifies as a woman.
