Just rattled through all 23 videos in this beginners guide section as we have a group of 6 of us who have only been playing for around a month now. We abandoned our original server and decided to purchase our own, and the gameplay is so much smoother - it was absolutely the right choice. I've picked up some decent tips here and certainly better ways of doing things than I have been doing it up to now. Looking forward to more content, you have a new sub.
You not editing out the learning how to bait the rod got you a sub and a like. I've found seeing the mistakes has been really helpful for me learning some of these tricks.
Pro tip for fishing at 13:54 the little pond lake thing on the lower left side of the screen is actually one of the best spots on the island map to fish lots of sabertooth salmon spawn and ceolanth and if you kill them you can kinda manage their spawn to get bigger fish to spawn more often so you have a better chance of getting good loot

Did exactly like you did in the video. Riding a Pelagonis on the river with a primitive fishing rod, used honey and caught over 15 to 20 Sabertooth Salmon and haven't gotten a single blueprint out of them...
@knappieboy Actually, i found out the problem all on my own during the time. Before you start the game, use the world settings and turn up "Fishing loot" (it could be in advanced settings, so check both just to make sure.) after that, then try it out if it'll work.
wow i just realized i have ascendant fishing rod with 500 effectiveness ... this is op , just got 1 premetive, 3 ramshackle,9 apprentice and 1 journeyman blueprints from 2 fish!!
A primitive rod will only catch upto a 2x fish i think it could be lower, so to get the big boys you need a tiered rod but they're also super hard to reel in
Honestly thank you with a primitive rod I got a Mastercraft mosasaurs saddle A journeyman arthropleura saddle and a journeyman scuba diver tank I and it wasn’t even from a sabertooth salmon thank you so much and remember that was from one fish

I don't know if you're still looking at the comments of this video, but do you have to already be the level to unlock the blue prints? Like, for example, you fished up a blue print for an Argen saddle, would I have to be level 62 to be able to be able to fish for that as well or could I still get it at like, level 30
I was looking for a Baryonyx and I saw I needed to kill fish because they share spawn.. So I figured maybe I'd fish. I watched your vid here. Went back to Ark after. Checked a purple drop with a ring on it. Got a mastercraft fishing rod. Ok, fine I'll fish I guess.
Fyi, the fish name is pronounced see-leh-canth. Great video! I've been trying to fish for the Valentine's event and couldn't figure out how to get the honey on the rod! This helped, thanks tons!
Use Gigas and spinos in the swamp for leech blood. Diseased leeches drop way more blood. Tree stump on val or special trees hit with chainsaws on scorched Earth gives tons of sap. Also, I subbed. You should to cheese has good content.

Pretty sure full Ghillie set will make bees not attack you either they don't in my domesticated hive at least when they did otherwise. I didn't know bears could harvest it for you though.

Did exactly like you did in the video. Riding a Pelagonis on the river with a primitive fishing rod, used honey and caught over 15 to 20 Sabertooth Salmon and haven't gotten a single blueprint out of them...
It wasnt always like this, at one point they must have nerfed fishing on official at least because this is how i would get my quality argy saddles

If you're playing without s+ pillars and ceilings. If you have s+ and no foundation support it's pretty straight forward

I've been fishing since they introduced it in the game. Ascendant fishing poles are the best. You can pull some really OP BP's

David Harper I heard alpha tusos drop them a 100 percent of the time and alpha Mosasaurus drop it 20 percent of the time

They're usually all over the redwoods. Depending on the map they might also spawn other places.
