Becca you are ridiculous, I paid for the complete calligraphy class but, you just keep giving more and more. I’m not a real weeping kind of person but, you’re killing me with so much kindness. You have literally gone above and beyond. Thank you just doesn’t cover the gratitude I feel. ❤️
I agree! I can’t believe how giving she is. Sometimes people have knowledge or a gift and they keep it close to the chest. I am always amazed how she shares so freely! ❤️ Some people want to keep the “how to‘s” a big secret, but Becca is going to create legions of competent calligraphers! This is actually a wonderful gift to society and the world, especially in a time when people write less and less. It truly is an art form, and the more people who practice art, the better!💗
When I was doing my wedding envelopes I found the over-top template too constricting for the block lettering. So I measured all my envelopes out and made a template of DARK LINES that I put inside each envelope to see through for the guide. Of course that only works on white (or light-colored) envelopes. :) Great video
I took an honest to goodness typing class in high school and we learned to count the letters AND spaces in the phrase/title that we needed to center and divide the number in half. So if , for example you wanted to find the center point of Becca Courtice… that’s 14… so the midpoint is between the C and o in the last name. This became my secret weapon as a teacher when putting up bulletin boards ! 😝
I agree with what others have noted about Becca’s generosity! It truly is an art form, and the more people who practice art, the better!💗
just love the way you did the Envelopes. I like the idea of embellishment but I think these simple ones are very sophisticated Thank you Becca for sharing with us x
Great video! So helpful! The way I like to center words/phrases/addresses is to roughly sketch them in the size and font that I'm going to be writing. Then just fold in half and there's pretty much your center without any measuring.😊
Becca, you are amazing! I purchased the entire set, yet you continually offer free bits of help and templates that are above and beyond!!! This is perfect timing for me on this topic! I am going to do my son's graduation envelopes!!! Thank you again!!!
Thank you so much for sharing ! 💕 I’m a beginner I don’t know anything about modern calligraphy, I just started watching your basic tutorial late October and now me and my son 10 yrs old he can write perfectly the letter ‘h’ and he was so proud of it 😅 even took my pen to school lols! Thank you so much! Bless You! I’ll tag you one day on IG when we are brave enough to show our calligraphy lols!
Becca, thank you so much for sharing so much of your expertise and knowledge with us. It’s greatly appreciated! And also thank you for your generosity with all the freebies you offer - you are SO giving! 🙏🏻💕
Thank you for the awesome template! It would be really great in an upcoming video to see what to do with names like, “Mr. & Mrs. Something” or names with a lot of descenders, etc. that make it difficult to determine which justification to use. Love this video!
Jennifer Winters on envelopes you dont use the 2.1.2 ratio but 2.1.1,5 or even 2.1.1 ie the descenders are shorter than the ascenders. If in doubt leave the descenders incomplete and once you have written all the name and the first line of the address you'll know how much you can descend. If a letter " crashes" against another, you dont write the whole of the second letter but leave some minimal space before the line goes into the first letter. It will look finished to the eye and it wont look messy. Hope this helps. Val
i set up all my envelopes with stamps while I was drawing my guidelines, but I am relatively confident in my rudimentary calligraphy skills and I know my loved ones won’t care if theyre a little imperfect as long as they get an invitation lol. Edit: also if you have a 4H pencil, that’s my favorite for guidelines - they erase *so nicely*
I haven't had the courage to start practicing yet. I have Depression and anxiety and I'm full of fear. I watch every episode and I'm going to start in the New year Becca with Crayola to practise. Thanks Becca. Merry Christmas 🎅🎄🎁🎅🎄🎁
I will definitely be adding this envelope style for my Christmas cards this year! I usually send out about 40 so it will be a nice practice exercise. Thank you!!
Very helpful, Becca. Thanks so much. Most envelopes I address are A2 size but I can adjust the template easily enough. Off to watch your Block Lettering tutorial again! Glad to see you're keeping well. 🙂
Rebecca, I haven't seen any woman without any eye makeup to look as beautiful as you do. And also, I would like to thank you for your creativity and ideas.
You are such a great teacher. Your explanations are really clear and I love that you demonstrate everything. The templates are a plussssssssss. Thank you!
Hi, thank you very much for the amazing video..I live in the UK and I do Copperplate and Persian calligraphy and I am more than ready to do envelopes or flower cards ,but I have no idea how to find clients!! Any tips will go a long way 🌷
Thank You Becca!!! for your never ending freebies!!! There must be a website that shows how to address envelopes for different occasions. Since you're engaged and are probably going to address you're invitations....if you come across a website that shows how to address them for different occasions and/or people living together in an array of situations....please share!!! Thank You again!!!
Awesome video. Thanks Becca. I am struggling with wedding invitations - Mr. and Mrs. John Doe? Mr. John and Mrs. Jane Doe? It seems very long... I want the names of everyone invited, in a specific household, to be on the label because I don't have an inner envelope. So, for a family of 5, it could be Mr. and Mrs. John Doe and the next line would be Jim, Jack and Jenny????? I have seen a variety of examples, but I would love YOUR advise.
Thank you so much! This is so helpful. I was wondering, though...how do you handle longer names? I am thinking of quite a few that would come up. Would you make your address smaller so that the name still would "pop"?

Dear Women, your handwriting is pretty 😍
when you charge for lettering an envelope, do you include your purchasing of the stamps? or does the client buy the stamps?
Do you use the soft or hard Fudenosuke pen?
